One more thing -when I got the delivery of the bike the fuel gauge had no bars and the show room person told me he had put 1 litre fuel ,I rode for 15 kms with no bars in the fuel gauge before I refilled the tank .

The amber light switches on when there are two or less bars in the gauge ,its just an indication that you are about to hit reserve .I dont know at what point exactly you get into reserve though .

Hi All,
Please excuse me if I am repeating the same old query. It's one month today since I got my bike delivered and clocked 2600 kms with oil changed once at 550 kms during my first service (bajaj dtsi oil currently). I would like to switch my oil. Should I go for Motul 300v factory line (15w50) or 3100 gold (20w50). Always 15w50 would seems to be better. Also how is Shell advance ax7? Is Mobil1 recommended? I know its a lot of questions. No other way guys.!!
All kerala guys, where do you get Motul/Shell/Mobil1 oils near Cochin/Thrissur?Srinath

Stick with semi synthetic at least until 6-7k kms, here in your case get the Motul 3100, then switch to Fully Synthetic(300V) later. 20W50 is preferred, 15w50 is good enough too.Originally posted by srinath.teram View PostHi All,

a feedback of your riding experience with these tyres
I too want to install these Pirelli tyres on my NS , but as you had mentioned below that manuvarebality of the bike is affected , can you provide a detailed feedback on this. Also you say that the height of the bike gets much higher , will this affect stability or not ???????
Please provide a feedback of your riding experience with these tyres.
1) the bike loses its flick character.. The handle bar is no more fast to turn
2) with these tyres comes confidence and one can explore a p200ns truely, unlike the stock eurogrip wich always scared me at corners or wet roads or while harsh braking
3)after installing these the ns becomes much more hieghted...[/

I did happen to visit my dealer today. Had made the booking almost a month ago. And was told that I can take my delivery on 10th this month. But today he said due to diwali there is a lot of demand and he wont be able to provide me my bike for the next 20 days. I'm highly disappointed. Should I shoot a mail to bajaj customer care?
Riding is not about destinations, it's about journeys.

Also my NS came back from first service today, holy smokes, the bike is even smoother than how it was when it was new.
I had complained about some minor tank vibrations, and to my surprise they have almost completely shunned the vibrations
Hope it stays that way.
Gonna change to Motul 3100 after 1200kms, sticking with dts oil for now!

hi bro...! (bhalo achiOriginally posted by govind.one View PostFirstly.. Hi!I have owned this Bumblebee of mine for 1k Kms... and will continue to do so for I don`t know how long...!!You must have read the reviews, specs, expert opinions, etc., So, I will try to keep this as short as possible!Pulsar 200NS (in the guy next door`s words): Handles almost like a FZ (according to me better than FZ), Power of a Pulsar (pretty powerful oner this!) and Brakes amazingly. So, that`s all a bike should do (basics atleast!)Getting into details:Brakes - Safety (Roads are filled with idiots.. you know that!).. The Front has more bite and rear doesn`t... apply both with equal pressure with Engine braking... She slows down gracefully!Engine - I still can`t believe my engine is 1k Kms old... Still the same silence and the grunt at 6k RPM... Yes, I broken into the Engine using Motoman Method (Don`t hold it against me.. I am not asking anyone to.. I just said I did it!).Tyres - Stock ones are decent unless you drive in wet conditions, require harsh braking or both. I am happy with the handling, cornering and braking the stocks offered me so far. And yes, my front Tyre slipped once giving me a heart attack once (at 550 kms).
Did I miss out on anything important..?!?!Vibes - Yes there are.. There will be some you will feel between 5k - 7k RPM... Hey, this is a Pulsar.. and what`s the point of riding a Sports bike without Vibes (now.. now.. don`t say Ninja, CBR and R1.. I meant Indian Sports Bike!).TO sum it all up, I still am sticking to stock tyres, no mods or tattooing done (although I wanted a tattoo of Transformers on the tank!)Changed to Motul 5100 15w50 through Bajaj SVC during first service, one gem of an oil... Super smooth.Using Motul Chain Lube and 3M All-in-One Shiner.. Will post the pics asap!@Shibadip and @Rahulbarik: How are your beauties doing?. Kebon aacho?!?! (It is bengali for how are you right?)
) I am better now. Was sick...i still am..but i will take out my bike anyhow tomorrow, no matter what... Other than tuning issues, bike is fine... Just 147kms on odo... Didn't ride it for 15 days... @chintan: mine too started at a single crank without choke after 12 days...no spluttering at all...no drama... Only thing haunting me is tuning and hard gear-shifts...its like blowing kicks literally... Btw you were to go the svc today na? Any updates? @myth: yo! Wassup man... That fuel indicator is total funny... Even i was shocked first but a call to shibadip cleared my doubts... The low fuel light has simply nothing to do with fuel... It will glow once there are two bars no matter how much fuel is there....
and i have rectified my clock running slow issue...just disconnect the battery and reconnect it@rahuldevnath: bhai whats the alternator output of the bike? How much watts?@everyone: i have removed the hugger and there are a lot of scratches underneath from flying stones... The underside of the rear panel shud have been matt finish... And anyone planning to change the handlebar to a single piece pipe unit like the duke...?

I ride slow hence dont need to panic break.... AFAI remember my tyre had skidded 3-4 times on wet surfaces, other than that skidding problem is not there with my tyre.Originally posted by Shibadip View PostRight boss... Since you do quite a few Off-roading, so don't go for the tyre change. Even if you do, don't go for the soft compound tyres.
You say that tyres and you are both used to each other. Sounds romantic,
but tell me post 5k, how many times did the tyre skid while panic braking??
I am less than 500kms on the odo, and the rear tyre has already skidded 4 times (once with pillion!!) during panic breaking. But during the last one I already knew that the tyre was gonna skid, and I was prepared to handle my bike in that manner.
BTW Had a good evening with Shrikant Sirji at Vashi, went to babloo Motors and changed the oil, Switched to FS Motul 7100 20W50.
Apart from the above I have also put up day three of the ride, interested people can check here...
