    • front fork sound

i took my 200NS on 28-8-2012. It had done 2100KM till now. Everything is working fine in the bike except the front shock absorber.
there's always some sound front the front part of the bike that can be heard clearly whenever i go into road humps or road pits.
i tried pressing the shock absorber when the bike is at rest but there was no such sound .

is there anyone else who has faced the same problem and what may be the possible reason for this..?

I am not sure if I m correct or not... but the over heating might be due to tighter brake pads or might a a result of constantly pressing the brake lever (This happens when one has a habit of keeping his foot over the brake lever) which in turn tightens the brake pads on the disc.

1stly Bajaj showed a step-motherly treatment towards Kolkata while launching the NS, and now it's the same with the spares.
This Surely calls for negative marks..
Should I courier you some from here....

And BTW I have uploaded the rest of the part of my log, if anyone is remotely interested please leave your comments or queries.

Only thing haunting me is tuning and hard gear-shifts...its like blowing kicks literally... Btw you were to go the svc today na? Any updates? @myth: yo! Wassup man... That fuel indicator is total funny... Even i was shocked first but a call to shibadip cleared my doubts... The low fuel light has simply nothing to do with fuel... It will glow once there are two bars no matter how much fuel is there.... and i have rectified my clock running slow issue...just disconnect the battery and reconnect it@rahuldevnath: bhai whats the alternator output of the bike? How much watts?@everyone: i have removed the hugger and there are a lot of scratches underneath from flying stones... The underside of the rear panel shud have been matt finish... And anyone planning to change the handlebar to a single piece pipe unit like the duke...?
Waiting for a 250kms review... reading bits and pieces isn`t worth it... and see I told you.. the stock tyres are keeping you happy!

Many in Bangalore have got the centre stand. Khivraj Kasturba Road, generally has a good stock of them.

            Which headlight bulb you installed?

For the pilot bulb, just get hold of a "plucker" or tweezers to pull it out. If that doesn't work I'm afraid you will have to remove the headlight assy and shake it get the bulb back. And even that's 10 mins job as well.
"assy" hehehe nice abbreviation for assembly

Well I'm also interested in knowing which bulb Rahulbarik is using. Also the dummest question of all... what's the octane rating of the normal unleaded petrol... can that be used for NS??

I rode rahul's bike yesterday, while he was riding mine.
The light certainly overshadows the stock light (which I am using) of NS.
When asked, he replied its not a HID but a simple halogen bulb of 55w. Forgot the brand of the Bulb

Though not recommended, if nothing else, try spraying some diesel on the discs. Wipe them off with a cloth and then ride the bike slowly for a km with the brakes partially depressed to get the bite back. This should solve it in most cases, but don't do it regularly.

After trying a lot to rectify, nothing worked, so thought to take it svc asap.
I got a holiday today so took to svc centre and kt was fully empty..only two bikes were getting serviced..Anyway the problem wasn't with disc, it was with the front axle..he opened the wheel and put some oil thr, then everything is running fine...

Are you sure, that it's not available at all the Bajaj outlets? Interestingly, it's on the onus of service outlet to order spares, depending on the requirement. What most of them do is to wait until there are enough bikes at the SVC centre. Oil filter is also not there? Its the same for Duke as well then. Have you checked with the distributor of Bajaj in kolkata?

Actually, "Assy" is the official short from assembely. Just check the spare book or workshop manual.

as I said, Ocatan rating of normal unleaded petrol is now 91 for all metros. Previously before BS3 norms it was 87 (not sure though). And yes it's perfectly fine to use them. Infact many bike/car manufacturer advice only normal unleaded fuels for their vehicles, and ask the user to avoid any of the premium fuels!

                            • Updates from my side:

                              1. For false neutrals, hard downshifts and gear lever becoming tottaly free issue, Got gear shifter changed, the current one did not have smooth surface and had some abruptions on it. So i guess that was the defective part from the company itself. Shocked to see defective parts present in brand new bike and delivered to the customers. Anyways now the gear shifts are slick and smooth ( now i know what i have been missing all this while ), hope it stays like this forever. Also false neutrals have reduced drastically, got only once or twice since sunday.

                              2. For Rpm needle vibrating and Neutral indicator becoming dim, got console changed "AGAIN", yes it was changed once before also. All my data is gone now, thanks to defective parts by bajaj. I am actually 3000 + kms , but odo shows some odd 200 kms. What pisses me off is now il have to calculate kms travelled n al mannualy and also service reminders of no use. When i told this to Manager he was like we hava data uploaded in systems an al and we will remind u, i was like then why the hell u have given console on bike, keep it with u.

Also i have noticed disc brakes performance decreases exponentially in rains/heavy rains, i just escaped banging on to a car from rear last time, felt like as if am riding a bicycle ( if u have ridden bicycle in rains ul understand what i mean). Told this to SVC guys, he cleaned disc pads n al, il have to check next time how it performs now. Has anybody else experienced this?
