bro.. These are not the drawbacks.. None of them are to be considered untill u love the stock tyres... It loses the flic character means the 200ns behaves like a 220.. And feels much more stable.. Regarding the hieght.. U will get used to it.. Overall i can say that this machine rocks with these pirelli tyresOriginally posted by [email protected] View Posti too want to install these pirelli tyres on my ns , but as you had mentioned below that manuvarebality of the bike is affected , can you provide a detailed feedback on this. Also you say that the height of the bike gets much higher , will this affect stability or not ???????
Please provide a feedback of your riding experience with these tyres.
1) the bike loses its flick character.. The handle bar is no more fast to turn
2) with these tyres comes confidence and one can explore a p200ns truely, unlike the stock eurogrip wich always scared me at corners or wet roads or while harsh braking
3)after installing these the ns becomes much more hieghted...[/

First of all carbs are tuned by turning the that AFR screw, with a screw driver only. If you are so obsessed with technology you might even use a motorized one, but it still be a screwdriver.Originally posted by punarvasu View PostRahul,
You have the absolute, unquestionable and unquestioned right to do whatever you like on your bike if it does not harm others. But advising others to do it on their bike is different. And if you are correct, tuning of a carburetor itself is unnecessary.
My simple doubt is not yet cleared: How do you ensure that the air fuel mixture adjusted is for the maximum power if the adjusting is with a screw driver only?
As a reply to all your other arguments, I am quoting your own words: Ignorance is bliss.
Secondly, reading spark plugs is enough in most cases for proper tuning. For problem cases, people even do plug chops, at time when the most sophisticate devices are there. Because at the a carb is a pure mechanical device, sans some Auto Choke carbs. In case FI you require specific equipment.
I'm a previous owner of a 220 DTSi.. and have completed more than 5000Kms. here are my points, compared to 220.Originally posted by rossi_god View PostHi, i am planning to buy this bike but have some doubts. Having owned a few P220s, i have faced a lot of problems like frequent head leakages, vibrations leading to noise from all over the bike and many more. Since we have 700+ posts here, can people please help me in mentioning the -ves of P200NS that the riders have noticed. It will be a great help in my buying decision. And yes, the positives too
All the help, much appreciated in advance.
The Good Bits:- Easy access to "boot" space, unlike 220, where the side panels were required to be removed.
- All bits of bike are solid and positive in construction, like the fiber panels, seats etc.
- A looker in every sense. Even after 5K Kms of ownership, I still stare at the magnificent design elements incorporated into the bike.
- Superb fuel efficiency compared any other bike in it's class. Even after following Motoman's method, I'm getting about 45+Kmpl in city with lot of right hand twists.
- Super agile and even super CoG. Once on the bike, it's feels lighter than a 150 CC bike.
- It's REV hungry. In my 220, I seldom saw the OVER REV warning blinking, in 200NS on a bit open stretch of road, It requires lot of self control to not get that light flash.
- Superb brakes.
- And over and above, it's a superb handler. As good as the R15, but without the super sports stance, very comfortable and yet sporty. Taking corners are much more fun!
The Not So Good Bits:- Switch gear feels of lower quality than the 220.
- No self cancelling indicators.
- Rear foot pegs are flimsy, and don't have rubber grips.
- Quiet a lot of vibes post 4K RPM, and this is there in at least 9-10 of NS i have ridden. Though its way lesser than even a brand new 220.
- Post 130Kmph on speedo, the rear become unstable.
- Tyres are good for daily commute, but skids very easily on dust/sand/gravel.
- In stop-and go traffic, a bit of heat is felt at thighs. The hot air exhausts from the vents in side panels, in traffic the thighs cover this area partially.
- Maintenance is a pain. For Air Filter, the whole tank panel is required to be removed. Even the fuses are not easily accessible and require tool, unlike 220.
The ugly issues:- A "loose" nut kinda sound from the engine head area (seems to be tappet, but is not). With helmet "on" not much audible though, its common to almost 80% bikes.
- Lot of areas are sticker jobs, and they will eventually peel off especially the front mudguard ones.
Over all, very satisfied with the bike.
Not much details are there. Don't know the jet sizes and all. What info you are looking for?Originally posted by ashwinprakas View PostGuys(Especially @Rahuldevnath),
Can you provide some info about the UCD 33 used in P200NS.
Reason of my interest is that am looking for a SF/FS carb for my ZMA.
Actually what most people are not taking into consideration is that the digital meter is not calibrated with the reserve knob. Infact without any bars in the indicator, there is atleast more than 500ml of fuel left.Originally posted by myth2104 View PostThe owner's manual says that the "Reserve Indicator glows continuously when the fuel reaches reserve level". In my case the indicator is continuously glowing (ofcourse because the fuel is nearing the the reserve level), but Im still running the bike with fuel knob at "ON" position without any problem. So does it mean that low fuel indicator glows continuously when nearing the reserve level as against reaching reserve level (as per manual) or is my low fuel indicator is a bit problematic. The fuel gauge still shows two bars though.
300V is Fully Synthetic, racing oil. Don't go for it till 5K. 3100 is the preferred Oil post 1st svc. Shell Advance AX7 is also good oil though, but not sure if its FS or SS.Originally posted by srinath.teram View PostHi All,
Please excuse me if I am repeating the same old query. It's one month today since I got my bike delivered and clocked 2600 kms with oil changed once at 550 kms during my first service (bajaj dtsi oil currently). I would like to switch my oil. Should I go for Motul 300v factory line (15w50) or 3100 gold (20w50). Always 15w50 would seems to be better. Also how is Shell advance ax7? Is Mobil1 recommended? I know its a lot of questions. No other way guys.!!
All kerala guys, where do you get Motul/Shell/Mobil1 oils near Cochin/Thrissur?
I hope you start munching miles as soon as possible. Not sure about the watts, but it provides 14.6Volts.Originally posted by Rahulbarik View Posthi bro...! (bhalo achi
) I am better now. Was sick...i still am..but i will take out my bike anyhow tomorrow, no matter what... Other than tuning issues, bike is fine... Just 147kms on odo... Didn't ride it for 15 days... @chintan: mine too started at a single crank without choke after 12 days...no spluttering at all...no drama... Only thing haunting me is tuning and hard gear-shifts...its like blowing kicks literally... Btw you were to go the svc today na? Any updates? @myth: yo! Wassup man... That fuel indicator is total funny... Even i was shocked first but a call to shibadip cleared my doubts... The low fuel light has simply nothing to do with fuel... It will glow once there are two bars no matter how much fuel is there....
and i have rectified my clock running slow issue...just disconnect the battery and reconnect it@rahuldevnath: bhai whats the alternator output of the bike? How much watts?@everyone: i have removed the hugger and there are a lot of scratches underneath from flying stones... The underside of the rear
panel shud have been matt finish... And anyone planning to change the handlebar to a single piece pipe unit like the duke...?
And Rahul, post a detailed review of the REVZ-S, compared to stock ones. I'm planning to go for them as well.
Though not recommended, if nothing else, try spraying some diesel on the discs. Wipe them off with a cloth and then ride the bike slowly for a km with the brakes partially depressed to get the bite back. This should solve it in most cases, but don't do it regularly.Originally posted by smrutisourav View Posteven after washing the front disk brake assembly, the didn't squeaking sound didn't go for long......
help me? i dont wanna go service centre, just because they gonna take lots of time...
another thing, squeaking is continous at low speed like around 8-10 kmph, and its pulsating around 20 kmph, disc looks perfectly fine..and sound loudness increases after brake gets more heated...
washing is a temporary relief..
For your second issues get your starter relay checked ASAP. In most cases, it's just a simple loose nut on the starter relay, in rare cases it might be the culprit.Originally posted by peejaey View PostHello All.. Well this may be my first post! But I have ridden this beast for lovely 2500+ kms and have been the first few costumers to get hold of this bike in Chennai (August 1st week). There are couple of issues which I am also facing similar to above which I haven't yet taken it to SVC.
1) There are multiple instances when I used to take my bike after a long day at office. When I am trying to move on from 2-3 or 3-4th gears, it appears like the bike is gasping or being choked with a strange sound. As the above views said, lights will go off as the engine has stopped running and I'll be stuck in the middle of road. After warming up of the engine, it doesn't happen. Observations: Fuel know will be ON/ RES position the whole day. Is this due to fuel getting vaporized in the fuel pipe leaving air lock resulting in stalling?
2) Couple of instances after a very long ride, when I push the starter button in neutral gear the starter motor fails to start except for the 'tick' sound under seat. Even after multiple tries it repeats. But strangely, if you happen to hold the clutch and press the engine start button, it works as normal. I doubt, holding clutch lever will enable starter button only when gear in engaged. Right? What would be the issue? Is the battery drained?
Yes, there is a specific vibe which kicks in at 4K RPM.Originally posted by sidvarma3289 View PostHi people , I have done around 1500 kms on this machine . I rode very carefully during the run in period , never crossed 60 kmph till the 1000 km mark . The engine felt a little rough and i assumed since it is a new bike it will smoothen out in sometime . During the first service i switched to Motul 15w50 fully synthetic engine oil . Gear shifts are super smooth but I am getting very heavy vibration from the engine which is felt all the way back to the grab rails between the 4500 - 5500 rpm mark . Below 4500 I can barely make out that the engine is running and above 5500 rpm it simple screams .. Anybody else experincing a similar problem . Shud I be concerned about this or will it smoothen out in due time ??Been There, Done That; Better!

When you apply slight amount of pressure on brake lever, do you feel variation of pressure ? if you do then there is a high probability of Disc warp....I had suggested this since you had complained of periodic pulsating noise from disc brakes.
I also have the same problem and it is indeed a disc warp, which the service centre people deny that even exists. I have very little time for now to find a solution. I Will have it fixed by this weekend or replace the disc.BreaklessBiker

It is covered under warranty ,so shoot a mail to Bajaj,or contact the Manager of service at ASC, and pressure him to change it,holding him responsible for any braking incidence on the road...Give it in writing and I am sure things will happen.Originally posted by surampudijagadeesh View PostI also have the same problem and it is indeed a disc warp, which the service centre people deny that even exists. nothing much bro... Just tuned the bike properly and it became smooth...btw my bike was always smooth... Regarding gear-shift, the mechanic opened the engine casing on the gear side and then adjusted the clutch, the shifts are quite smooth now... People who are locking up their rear wheel, please loosen the rear brake pedal and increse the freeplay to the max... No matter how hard you brake, it wont lockup until you want it to lockup intentionally...hope this helps... @rahuldevnath: thanx bro... Anyways i am still on stock tyres... I am not getting the new front....out of stock... So will change both together...the revz-s is still lying with me... But as per dip who changed to revz, he is giving very good review...Originally posted by dominic View PostIt'll be nice of you to list down in brief what all was tweaked to achieve "butter smoothness." Pulsar 200NS petrol ?
Which is the best petrol for pulsar 200NS . The normal unleaded petrol or premium petrol like speed, xtra premium etc.
The compression ratio of NS is 11:1 and I read somewhere that engines with compression ratio of more than 10:1 require premium petrol but the price of premium petrol is Rs10/litre more than normal petrol in my area.
Please provide your suggestions.

A funny incident happened today... A guy suddenly shouted looking at my bike, "hey look n8 n8"
maybe he confused n8 with ns
And guys am on 219 kms now...engine has freed up a lot...very revv hungry. Unable to control... Ripped it a few times today... And unintentionally pissed a cbr250r owner and he was determined to overtake me later on...maybe he got insulted being taken down by a pulsar...
had a nasty wheelie while shifting from 1st to 2nd at 10k rpm with throttle pinned with a pillion on board...he was literally hanging on for dear life... Just bloody impressed with the performance...its tasty and nasty in a single package...
changed the headlight bulb and visibility is now outstanding...better than any indian bike till date...Lastly i need a help... My right side pilot lamp fell inside the pilot housing... How do a take that thing out...plz help
right now only left side is glowing...

91 octane petrol is good enough for NS. All metros have 91 octane petrol, even the normal unleaded ones. Premium fuels are better only in terms of additives and the branding which ensure quality, not Octane rating. For the pilot bulb, just get hold of a "plucker" or tweezers to pull it out. If that doesn't work I'm afraid you will have to remove the headlight assy and shake it get the bulb back. And even that's 10 mins job as well.Been There, Done That; Better!

It has been almost 2 months since the NS has been launched in Kolkata, And still there is No Spares available. Not even the necessary things like the Oil Filter which needs to be replaced during the 1st service!! Or even the center stand!!!!
1stly Bajaj showed a step-motherly treatment towards Kolkata while launching the NS, and now it's the same with the spares.
This Surely calls for negative marks..sigpicRelationships change, evolve, and it goes deep.
Only thing I can say - "The storm is coming"
