  • Hi Guys

Its been a while and many owners might have completed 1k kms and I want to know the performance and a prediction about the future performance and also the mileage in the future.

And I am still concerned with the bulged tank near to the rider, whether it creates problem on sudden braking. I got some replies by some owners and users, but still have a little concern. Please clear my doubts.

i think this will depend on your riding posture and height.. if ur taller u most probably wont be sitting too close to the bulge of the tank (like me).. and should not face any problems on sudden braking

had a few niggles initially.. RPM rising to 2.5k after a few minutes of running.. but a quick trip to the SVC solved the issue.. mechanics are extremely friendly and explained how i can adjust the knob in case i wanted to in the future

lubricated the chain today (using Cyclo by Pidilite) and its seeming to be smoother..

one new issue is that the coolant level has gone below the minimum level ( was between middle and max at time of delivery).. called up the SVC and they told to get it in on Monday for a free topup.. but wanted to know if coolant levels actually reduce like that (just run abt 430 kms).. and is is alright to run the bike when its arnd the minimum level? the manual says abt 750 ml is in the radiator and just 250 ml in the expansion tank which is visible

also has anyone done the topup by themselves? i believe the tank needs to be removed to do it as the cap is not visible
It's OK if the coolant level is at the minimum level, when the bike is cold. However the coolant should not drop drastically even after 5000kms of riding. My coolant has not dropped a mm in last 2000Kms! So, get it checked if it again drops drastically.

Yep...as @praveen mentioned...it depends on your riding position. But still I think the tank curve isn't that abrupt to be problematic!
And as far as future is concerned....I prophecise...

          1. You will ride and love it
          2. You will ride and adore it
          3. You will ride it and ride it and ride it...

          Haha
Expect it to get smoother and you falling in love even more with it!

Thanks guys. Now i think i have cleared almost all my doubts. I had been to RV Bajaj today and they told that the price is 101000 and 20 days waiting. I asked them something from their end like centre stand, but they refused. I am booking tom paying them 5k for booking. So now confused between colour between Red and Black.

And one more question to the guys who have changed the tyres. I asked the showroom guy regarding this and he said he cant help with that. So I am planning to change them to MRF by myself. So anyone knows where I can sell the Eurogrip and get the MRF for a decent price in Bangalore??

I did read in local newspapers sometime back about fatal accidents on Pulsar bikes due to crushed genitals mostly in the night - however it was not clear whether it was due to drunken driving or sudden braking I have been riding Pulsar for last 8 years, but only twice I faced the experience of pain in ba*** due to sudden braking

yeah the earlier pulsar tank is very dangerous... But crushed genitals? OMG! Hahaha ROFL btw why are the genitals crushing only at night then...? Surely something is fishy...

@manz46: congrats man... you just screwed your bike with total responsibility... upjet the carb at the earliest to avoid more damage...or at least for the time being make the afr to richest position...

                    • I'm facing the air lock problem. When ever I forget to switch on my petrol knob, my bike turns off after running for few metres (For the petrol already in it) and dies. When I try to open the petrol knob, it requires some throttle to be alive and dies off at idling.

I adjusted the idling screw a lot of times, opened the petrol tank and let it for some minutes. Nothing helps. Is this problem specific to pulsars? I've never faced this problem in my non-Fi bikes in the past.

                      Any help??
You have heard of me, But you don't know me. You know what I'am, not what I've gone through

The incidents majorly happened with UG I and II...don't remember any such thing with UG III onwards.
But again, it may have happened if someone had the habit of sticking his with tank and riding!

If a 5'5" guy like me can do this, other short guys can handle NS with ease

IMO.. this is quite normal. once the petrol in the carb is over, before cranking it, do turn on the knob and then turn your accelerator a couple of times, allowing more fuel to assimilate in the carb. then crank it. it should be fine.

to others who might be facing problem on cold start - after switching on the ignition key and the petrol knob, please give couple of twists to the accelerator..release the accelerator completely.. and crank the engine. with a rich mixture the engine would start easily.. has been working for me so far.
