It has to be tightened and lubricated every 500 kms for smooth running. Get it done quickly

Do we need to make modifications to Pulsar 200 NS to fix Duke Rear Tyre i.e., MRF Revz C 150/60 x17 ???

It boils down to your riding style.

          > If you do lots of commutes and bumper-to-bumper type traffic with very little touring now and then, keep the tyres stock. There's no point commuting slowly with sticky tyres. With proper use (I mean without unnecessary skidding, burnouts, etc) you can push the eurogrips to 20000 kms of running life. Mine lasted 16.5k kms with burnouts, tyre skids, etc.

          > If you're the loud hooligan rider who loves to rev hard, brake hard and corner at even the slightest 'cycle-gaps' or take your bike to the twisties often, you need better grip so MRF revz-s, pirelli sport demon or bridgestone battlax (if you're lucky to find one) will do for the rear and MRF zapper Q (front tyre of yamaha FZ) or pirelli will be good for the front. Remember, you'll find drastic cornering ability improvement with replacement of the front tyre. Again, with proper use, they'll last around 10-15k kms max.

          > If you do a lot of touring and occasionally would do some cornering, dunlop tuff grip 140/70-17 is perfect. Should last 15k kms.

Go for vega full faced ones, the ones with the sun-flap on top. Looks very cool indeed. White would suit your black bike IMO. My old white vega used to suit my blue NS beautifully.
Thanks for the detailed reply. I will keep stock tyres.
          I am loving my NS

It is normal for front sprocket to have that play on the shaft . It is there to take up the shifts in the rear drive and still maintain alignment during ride . So don't get it fixed .

Pls someone tell me where to get this engine cover and how much will it cost..?
BTW, I have a spare full blank manual of 200ns that contains all service vouchers and all,the one we get with our ns, I have one spare as I found it between the gaps of inner section of rear side..any advantage I can take with this extra book...? Or if anyone needs it more than me,I will be happy to give him ..,(fir free)

Chain sound is common from day 1. Most of em said to ignore it. As there is no chain packet.

NS is purely an awesome package, a unique motorcycle that comes with so much in just 1 Lac rupees, most importantly the reliability that a high revving engine really needs. Plus such a pocket friendly FE. It's crazy that some people have really stupid perception of this truly next gen Pulsar. I actually stare at my bike almost everyday and smile knowing how damn good it is. Even after 1 year I park my 200NS at places and just watch people jump over it, some assholes even vandalise it, check out their faces in it's RVMs and mis position them, sit on rider seat with entire weight on side stand and so much more that causes severe tension and anger sometimes.. I could never tolerate it. These are the things that hurt me as an owner. It's the attention it gets.. and then the funny criticism from jealous people. I just want my bike to blend in when I park it, not stand out. Even thought of selling my NS for reasons mentioned above.. cos some arguements have turned ugly in past.
I do the exact same thing. I just stand there.. admiring it and smiling at it. My neighbors probably think I am an idiot by now. :P

And oh yes... the funny criticism from people who probably have never ridden it. Most of the comments are along the lines of "Don't compare your Bajaj crap with Honda and Yamaha. K?". My blood boils, but I just smile and turn away. So NS has thought me one more thing - how to ignore idiots, and humility. NS is so humble and unassuming. It seems so calm.

But make no mistake... twist the throttle a little... and... it's an animal shouting "No mercy for you idiot!" to the posers who instigate it. And the posers watch in disbelief as the 'Bajaj crap' crushes their egos and pulls off into the distance. Ouch.

I don't think its discontinued. Praveen Mohan from NW sent me a pic of the most recent lot that arrived in Bangalore(D390s, Ninjas, P220s, P150/180s etc), and I could spot many NSes there. So obviously they are selling.

Well if you are a normal commuter then keep stock... but if you want to push to the exact limits then plz change the tyres. I dont think when we are paying a lakh for a bike we cant buy a better tyre for 3k extra for our own safety. Personally i bought new tyres even before i got my bike because i took lots of rides on a stock ns before that and simply didn't like the tyres... my riding style is very demanding on the tyres and even without any kind of burnout or skidding i manage to finish my rear tyres tyres at at just 5k only after which i stretched it because i was enjoying the controlled slides but the stock ones as long as they are holding, well and good... the moment it leaves it gives no warning...it skids abruptly... there is a massive difference between slide and skid. Now that you have doubts regaring stock tyres, you can go hard with the stocks too but till a certain limit and as long as the roads are good and in your mind somewhere u will still keep on thinking that you have a tyre which you dont trust and which actually can give away any moment..... for an example try a very hard and fast engine braking from around 90 in 6th gear to 2nd gear in a flash with just front brake engaged...dont touch the rear...and see how the eurogrips are being dragged with the bike, screeching, with the rear showing simply no sign of gripping the road and slowing and the massive massive amount of fishtail and wheel hopping which is enough to throw you off if you are not careful. With a tyre change there is no fishtailing whatsover with a much much reduced braking distance and can concentrate more on the road and brakes rather than the tyres. My opinion is change to better rubber...not for hard riding but atleast for the sake of safe riding, imroved braking and peace of mind. 3k hurts less than a bigger medical bill... my opinion. Btw whatever you do, dont buy a zapper q....... Revs-s and dunlop tuff-grip... choose between these two. Revs for more grip, less life, dunlop more life a bit less grip but still more than enough. I would not recommend pirelli beacuse atleast i did not like it to be used as a day to day city tyre.... it is a bit too grippy for my liking and just grips and grips...dont allow to slide the rear at all... not really needed... its just mental satisfaction. Its an overkil for our bike. Limits the rider involvement.

                          Hi @Aditya N Bharadwaj

Great work choosing the handguards for your bike man. I am going to be joining the Pulsar 200NS owners club today and I wanted to know where I could get the same type of handguards as that on your bike.

I read that you forgot the place, but if you could tell me approximately the side / location details in JC road where you bough those handguards, I would truly appreciate your help my friend.

                          Thanks and Keep Riding

Me being 5'10 find it difficult touching both my feet.... anyways all the ns have different different heights at the same rear suspension setting and there are differences in weight too.... sounds very strange but true... and yes with same amount of fuel... my bike is the heaviest of the lot.... its much more heavier with an empy tank with some ns with a full tank.... so when buying the ns everyone do check the bike you are getting... try all the bikes...

Finally, got the tyre, tail lamp, and rear rim changed. Though, this was done around a week ago, I didn't find the time to update it here. Since I didn't find a dunlop dealer in my area, I had to settle in with an MRF Nylogrip Zapper Q which cost me 3.2K. The rear rim too burned a hole worth 3.1K, the small tail lamp assembly was for around 500 bucks or so. I forced the service center guys to extract a tail lamp from another NS they were using to scavenge parts from. In all, it costed me 7.4K for all this stuff.
