Re: Pulsar 200 NS
Buddy it's a ns, it's not ss or something as full bike looks same, also body parts are covered to maintain secrecy of the modelOriginally posted by broken87 View Postthat's not his bike, it's the indonesian version of 200NS. I'm beginning to like the graphics work done on these models. all other modification done in the image looks awkward.

Re: Pulsar 200 NS
1. Your bike right now has no engine-related problems. The run-in is happening and you'll feel the vibrations everywhere. Your bike will become smooth after about 2000 kms or after filling fully synthetic oil. Just ride normally. The harshness that you feel is from the vibrating plastics. Engine is pretty robust man. It cant get harsh or get ruined unless you lug the engine or redline everytime during run-in.Originally posted by skv View PostYesterday I did a 50 km ride in city itself. Took the rpm to 6k rpm twice for few seconds. Odo is reading close to 400 kms. Bike was sounding and feeling rough after riding for 30 mins. I also felt footpeg vibrations. My hands were starting to get a bit numb.
Also I am getting some weird sound (difficult to explain. Some sort of khad khad, frequency increases with increasing rpm ) from front, but tends to fade away when clucth lever is slightly pressed. Have anyone experienced these issues.
The oil leak issue has been resolved by ASC. They rplaced the o-ring seal of oil filter and applied anabond gasket maker. Also engine oil was topped up. Initially the mechanic was pouring same oil which was drained out while replacing the seal, which had some fine sands . But when I objected he fetched from some where else. ( can we identify by just seeing that whether the oil is fresh/new or not, i really dont feel like trusting these careless people).
After the job the oil seems to be a bit above the maximum level. Can it harm the engine?
2. It's a good thing you're revving upto 6k for a few seconds. Should help the piston rings to bed in properly and familiarize the engine through the rev-range. Babying the bike around would do no good. Try revving upto 7k rpm slowly, occasionally for a few seconds ONLY AFTER THE ENGINE HAS HEATED UP. It's like teaching running to a child who knows how to walk.
3. Any crap oil will do till the first 500 kms coz that's when the piston rings should properly rub against the bore to achieve proper sealing. A very good oil will provide good lubrication which means this oil is slippery. Proper rubbing of the piston rings wont happen and run-in period will get extended. But observe the oil in the oil checking window. A 400 km old engine usually has blackish engine oil and a new one is transparent. I'd be very hard to make out if the oil is mixed from this though.
4. Just to be safe, drain out your current oil at 1000 kms and measure the quantity. Should be 1.4 or 1.2 liters. Anything more and the crankshaft will start churning the engine oil and that releases a lot of foam on the oil. Foam=vapor. Vapor is not a lubricant and your parts will wear out faster. But that's in the long run. 500 odd kms of running on excess oil wont do too much harm IMO.
Not really. And 6k rpm is not called 'revving hard'. There's a way to rev upto that rpm during run-in.Originally posted by Indrathirth View PostBelow 1000 kms revving hard is a sin.Last edited by Aditya N Bharadwaj; 10-23-2013, 05:43 PM.Sarcasm is my automatic response to stupidity.

Re: Pulsar 200 NS
Sorry if this is answered already, but how is the feel of this new tire, what about the cornering and what is your front tire spec. . ? Lastly, it's the same tires of Duke's if i'm not wrong. . .Originally posted by csajal View Post
Doesn't look like any mod has been done to the frame, or the Swing arm or the rim. So, the question, what would be effects of this rubber combination (effectively D200's rubber) on the NS. I know this might have been answered a zillion pages back, but wanted some fresh thoughts.
Cheers!!!

Re: Pulsar 200 NS
Hi Everyone,
I bought the NS about a month ago and am quite satisfied with with the bike. I however, have a query on which I need the advice of the experienced NS owners - Although I love keeping the bike stock, will removing the rear tyre hugger make any difference in terms of the amount of mud which gets transferred to the undercarriage of the bike?
Also I gave the bike for its first servicing a few days ago and was surprised when I was told it would take nearly 4 days
. My erstwhile bike - CBZ Star used to get completely serviced in half a day and this is what irked me a little. When I asked the service centre guys they simply said that since this is a premium bike, this much time was normal. Im Curious since in the first service only oil change and coolant top up is done. Still I agreed. I read a lot in this forum regarding the poor service centres of Bajaj but it was proven when I had to literally fight to get my bike back on the 7th DAY!!! Also the service centre didnt have the option of Motul 7100 oil which i have read to be one of the best for this bike.
So my second question - Is Bajaj DTSi oil good for upto 5000 kms? Or should I get it changed earlier? Also considering the lack of expertise and lazy nature of the service centre guys, should I get the future services done by an outside skilled mechanic?
Kindly give your opinions.Blood, Sweat and Gears - Enough Said.

Re: Pulsar 200 NS
I normally ride it in between 2.5k and 4k rpm. Does the engine lug at 2.5k rpm? (I didn't find it lugging but still want opinion of experienced owners.)Originally posted by Aditya N Bharadwaj View Post1. Your bike right now has no engine-related problems. BTW a pic of my bike

And I studied some times back discussions about braking of p200ns. Well here is something interesting.

Re: Pulsar 200 NS
Yeah, 7 days. I shudder to think what would happen in the second service when they have to tune the carb. Oh and by the way the first bike I got was faulty and stalled 2kms from the showroom! They replaced it obviously, but needless to say my trust from my particular dealership was shaken. Add to that the service delay, im thinking it might be better to find a mechanic outside who is well versed with the bike.Last edited by Vikramaditya; 10-23-2013, 09:34 PM.Blood, Sweat and Gears - Enough Said.
