FYI, its 22 yards. Hence, the first claim from you is falsified!

Sir no flame wars first of all, second
I said I forgot it's inch or yard, so in.the end quoted you and said that it was a Cricket pitch length.I wasn't measuring it by tape, it was the general distance idea I have due to lots of cricket. Just forgetting that it's inch or yard makes me nirmal baba..?
Second who said stoppue after fishtailing. .? Kindly read my posts again it clearly depicts that first usage of front brake made rear tyre to loose ground, then application of rear brake tend to fishtailing. All of this happened in like 3-4 sec.
If my last comment hurted you badly so for your cooldown I'm a looser and falsifying lair who loves to tell fake stories on a VIRTUAL online forum about REAL world biking, it is OT'ing already a lot. so ending this from my side.
Ride safe.
And@ abhidultya, my ride pattern is stop and go, usually in moderate/low traffic I do about min 80-90 ish speeds. Shashankhttp://en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/Bhagat_Singh.

I am quite new here, but I was surprised to hear the term - "HARDCORE CITY RIDER".
I had a honda dio for 4 years and rode it for a total of 52.000 kms, I never dared to take it outside city limits, and to add to my awesome experience, I even avoided tolled flyovers.
Does that make me a- "HARDCORE CITY RIDER" too.

""52k on a moped with no power is indeed a nice way to sum my puny little experience as a rider.
I think you took me in a very negative manner, I was just happy that there is someone to inspire little young riders like us.
You reminded me of the awe-inspiring experience I had while riding in the city, I just hoped you would understand the excitement of going from one traffic light to other (Oh of course you would, coz that's all you do). I miss miss that life now, because all I do now is pick up my ZMR, start its engine and go on a long, boring trip into the endless highway. Gosh, I wish I could rip my bike into the city and be a menace for general public "fishtailing" at crazy speeds but alas!! I am just a boring biker who FYI covers more distance in a one way trip than the complete circumference of whichever city you ride in.

P.S-Sorry for the use of "circumference" term, I forgot you have a serious problem with mathematical terms (22 yard, 22 inches 22 kilometers etc.etc.)

Added a additional Horn. Since there was no place to hold it, The mechanic had to place it on crash guard

Now the horn sounds loud n crispy. Giving me better confidence while riding in highway compared to former NS's puny horn

Price 220rs for horn + 80 rs for local mechanic

No the gears are not excessively tall. In fact, for this 200cc engine, the stock gearing is perfect! It utilises the power output of the engine perfectly! The duke 200 is way too undergeared in my opinion. It screams off to redline and before you know it the rev-limiter light is shining brightly in your face. Of course this results in insane competition-destroying acceleration but this is not everybody's cup of tea for long rides. NS is a better purposeful mile muncher. For similar riding, NS has a better tank range than duke. In short, the stock gearing caters perfectly to the masses, which after all is what brand pulsar is all about.

I've used the small front sprocket with a big rear tyre so mine's an intermediate between insane acceleration and relaxed highway cruisability. That's because I'm simply trying to see to what extent the performance of the bike can be pushed without compromising too much on some factors like highway cruisability, FE, etc, and this is being done in stages.

Regarding the tyres, again, it's supposed to cater to the masses. The stock tyres last LONG. My rear eurogrip gave up at 17k kms after quite a lot of burnouts and the front lasted 23k. They are not the best but how confident you feel about it depends on your skill. I've known people who've done knee downs and peg scrapes on eurogrips for both wheels.

While bringing down speeds, use engine braking, blip before each downshift and use the front brake : rear brake - 70% : 30%. Even the pirellis and bridgestones used on track-prepped sbks will skid if you pull in the clutch and ram the rear brake.
Sarcasm is my automatic response to stupidity.

Very true regarding the stock tyres. Its been just 3 days that I have got my NS. And believe me on the first day itself I had an awesome experience doing a knee down on it. I find these tyres much better than the stock tyres on the pulsar 220 that I rode earlier. Just came home after a ride now.

I always pull in the clutch while emergency braking, I scared of locking the rear wheel. I used to ride a tooti footi RX135 in which gears would jam if I brake in emergency in any gears other than the first one without pulling in the clutch and I will have to move the bike forward and backwards a couple of time to make the gears move again. The habit kinda stayed with me.

Since this thread is about sharing stories, let me tell one too. I have a very good two-wheeler which gives amazing FE, it has been manufactured by Hero. Today I was riding it at the max speed it can achieve and I had to brake really hard on a rural road as a little kid came running to the street. The real wheel skidded heavily under braking, my speed was 16kmph and I was riding a bicycle

Everyshop is giving me about Rs 500 value for the rear Euroslip tyre after 10k Kms of usage.. I can sell it and get a better one as I definitely have the budget for it. But why? I don't feel the need for it. With time a rider adjusts to the tyre's feel and rides accordingly. Though I have to admit, I don't think I've gone above 50-60 Km/h on wet roads.. it's wet grip is so unreliable under braking.
Experts I have a small problem, had my service few days back. Since then only thing that doesn't feel right is the gear shifting. They feel hard and not slot in perfectly. As I begin my first ride of the day, I get a false neutral about 4-5 times when shifting to 2nd gear from 1st. As I ride more the problem is less encountered but the overall gear shifting remains totally unsatisfactory... A very strange fact is that before servicing my gear shifts were super smooth perfect probably like a Honda bike. Absolutely no false neutral issues on fresh day's ride. Blip throttle downshifts weren't even needed. And all that was on a 3000-3200 Kms old engine oil (5100). So why now ? Is this because of improper chain slackness ? Clutch adjustment needed ? Chain is still not dirty enough.

Regrading traction in the wet, yes they're bad. That's what is being said; they offer decent traction on dry tarmac. Moreover, what's the point of attempting knee downs on wet surfaces?

Now about you pulling in the clutch while braking in emergency situations is similar to freewheeling because you've disengaged the tranny completely. Let engine braking do its job! Never pull in the clutch lever while braking. Clutch should be used only to change gears.

Maybe. You can get the chain adjusted and cleaned/lubed. Also, check if the clutch play is within limits.

Adjust your chain slack, lube it. Tighten your clutch cable! I had same problem of loose gears tightening up the cable did wonders now the gear shifts are butter smooth! No false neutrals!

thanks for ur inputs guys. Yea the chain sprocket is in fit condition as it's only 10k Kms old. I lube it regularly too. I will check the clutch play and get the cable tightened, see how it goes then. Also get the mechanic's opinion on chain slackness.

There is two schools of thoughts regarding pulling in the clutch while braking in emergency, one suggests pulling in the clutch, KTM is of that opinion as expressed in the 390 Duke owners' manual. Some says not pulling in the clutch aids in braking through engine braking, but In my experience (very limited on 4-stroke motors) there is not much engine braking in higher gears. Most of my riding has been on a RX135, which being a 2-stroke, has no engine braking.
I am really confused regarding this braking thing, so let's say, I'm coming to a stop on a P200NS, should I let go off the throttle, pull in the clutch, blip, downshift, release the clutch and repeat the process again until I come at neutral while simultaneously applying brakes or should I just pull the clutch in and keep blip downshifting till I reach neutral?
