Markings are same on each side. I even tried setting the rear tyre a little to right to compensate but no luck

        Hi All,

Yesterday I did some DIY on my bike and took off the rear tyre hugger and the small triangular bit too which kinda covers the rear disc oil tube. I just keep fingers crossed that I am not putting the tube in harms way. Attached are a few pics for my bike post it...

About the above, is there some way to kinda remove all the dirt from the tyres so they actually look black. Washing & scrubbing doesnt seem to solve the purpose coz they come back to this color post drying.

Also, could someone please assist me on the below -

How to use the chain tensioner as shown below ? What are the optimal settings for the same.

While cleaning the spark plugs I noticed that they were not right. I think I am running on a lean engine. I have always had my doubts on the Bajaj guy trying to persuade me that the AFR settings were optimal and I knew it wasnt the case and the spark plugs just confirmed the same for me yesterday. Need a second opinion though .. Rich or Lean ?

I am sure that my Bajaj guy is not able to tune it properly hence this issue. Could some one please suggest a good mechanic, preferable, Bajaj for me to get the engine tuned from ? I would prefer Gurgaon or South Delhi, if possible.

Thanks for all the help in advance guys.. Cheers !

The spark plugs do look a little oil deposited and also shows some worn out part. You can try cleaning it for now. But if you have experienced any spark plug related symptoms, you may change that.

For the chain, it is the snail cam chain adjuster. To use that need to loosen the axle and then use it to adjust as per the chain slack mentioned in NS manual. I don't recon the slack value. But first check if the chain has too much of slack

                Hello everyone,

There is one belief I have when it comes to two important things in life which is "bikes n wifes can't be given in other man's hands till its last option" n u know chances are the consequences might not be the pleasant if u do.

Now as I have said it the 99% xbhpians would understand why I choose to do this DIY by my self.

The problem started nearly a week ago before I was convinced that this is the coolant leak bcoz at start it looked like some milky texture on the oil guage glass and didn't attract my attention.

Few days later since it was end of rainy season I thought of giving the bike the special washing treatment, took the bike to washing center and cleaned it thoroughly. After washing I always check for all fluids are in at most levels or not and to my surprise my engine oil was looking distinctively green. The moment I looked to coolant reservoir I was confirm that it's coolant.

Next immediate question in mind was what can I do now n how to take the bike to home again, since the washing center is under one kms I took the chance of riding it back and reached home, called service center to ask about the problem but the solution given to me was that I should get the bike to them n which was out of question since it's exactly 27kms from home.

So decided to do some research on the issue till I figure out reaching the service center, found some valuable things and decided to have a look by myself. Having a bit of knowledge about the engines I took the risk n started to search for root of problem.

Started the bike n my first worry was blown main gasket which also may result in mixing coolant in engine block but to my good luck bike was running smooth with out making any weird engine noises if it was gasket.

Next thing to look was the O rings between balancer shaft and water pump impeller, drained the coolant and engine oil and started opening the water pump assembly.

Completely opened the water pump assembly and looked at O ring seals and found they are not in great shape

Now the problem was how to get them out in proper way so contacted service center again n too my surprise they told me they need to open the engine to just take out the O ring seals. Heartbroken I was

Arranged the transport tempo for next day to send my precious to service center and just looked at this

I did had the idea that bajaj had developed the NS engine with using KTM Duke 200 engine base but it's actually the KTM made engine base n the bajaj only put three spark plugs on top of it( I know many things are changed)

The bajaj has this habit of copying things from other established manufacturers like wise in Kawasaki K4, Got to know the starting lot of Duke do have this same problem and I know why

Did some research and pulled out both the defective O ring seals with causion, now comes the most painful part of the job getting the New spare O rings.

The lack of parts at service center and also bcoz of some fools at service center they kept me waiting for one week, after contacting many places finally got the spares.

Did the fitting and pour the engine oil and coolant, kept the bike running for 15-20 mins. The radiator fan kicked in and everything was butter smooth again.

After test riding it for 100 or more kms in three days the oil is still clean and the cooling is also great.

Moderators, I think I don't have enough pics of the job but it's a attempt for fellow guys to understand the problem is not that Big as service centers are misguiding and I do not recommend a DIY as well, I did the job coz I have the knowledge of the things and I did know exactly what I was doing, so move the post to appropriate category
Congrats Brother finally u did it u earned my respect 🙏🙏 for dis DIY [emoji106] [emoji106]
And from 1st day i know its KTM engine with bajaj's carb, 3 spark plug and stickers [emoji13] [emoji13]

You can try KTM Kirti Nagar Service Centre for tuning your bike. There is a mechanic named Bhavneet, specially there for NS. He is good at work. While giving your bike, tell them that you want it to be serviced by Bhavneet only.

I need a help.recently i gave my AS200 for servicing(2nd free serv).Service was done properly. What what i do experience is low Pickup on every gear, probably low torque.I remember my bike had crazy torque and the power was punchy even on 30+ speeds on 4th gear. But now power seems very less. The only thing i can think of is he adjusted the chain saying it was very loose, adjusted clutch settings.these are the only changes which i can think off.I don't think he Fine-Tuned by Carburetor though.

                    Any suggestions please
Hey bro... I can bet anything you say that the mechanic who was servicing your AS 200 tried to earn some brownie points with you by tuning the carb without you telling you to. I faced exactly the same issue with my NS when he went ahead and tuned it himself without me asking him to do it thinking it would make me happy that i got more than i asked for. Well yes I did .. numerous visits to the svc centre to get it properly tuned which he NEVER was able to do and also the chain. Boss i have learnt two things - never get your bike tuned from the regular svc centre guys, get to a probiking showroom (heard those guys are real good) and never ever get your chain tightened. The first and the last time i asked them to tighten my chain, my chain was all over the place and a distinct sound of the front rotor.

Not suggesting you do what I do, but have sworn NEVER to take my bike to the svc centre for AFR tuning or chain tightening .. lesson learnt the hard way. Read my consequnt post you would not bro.. cheers !!

The very first thing I'd say when I give for bike is "Don't tune for mileage or performance (AFR)". Usually they would ask does the bike have any problem?. I would never say anything related to AFR. Now I have got a good one nearby my locality. Let's see
