Changed both disc pads once at 18500 kms, few days ago. Maybe front disc pads keep rubbing the disc. Ride another NS and check if you feel a difference in acceleration. If the other one's better, your pads are rubbing onto the disc, big time.

Guys I noticed in the evening that the bolt holding the rear monoshock in place had loosened quite a few rounds..... is it normal for it to get loose overtime and does require to be constantly monitored for....??

Also in my FZ there is a separate nut to tighten the bolt whereas in the NS that nut is welded to the frame.... does that make any difference..??

I bought my black 200ns on 10th oct 2013. Till now I have done 160 kms on odo. I am always riding it as mentioned in manual except for a few case where I had to rev a little higher upto 4.5k-5k rpm for a few seconds. I am facing some issues as mentioned below.

        1. From first day the fuelling is quite snacthy at around 3k-3.5k rpm in 3rd and upper gears, specially in 5th and 6th gear.

        2. I am listening a "krrrrrrrrrrr" sound ( imagine a very small steel ball being stirred in a vessel) while moving which seems to come from somewhere on the left side. First I thought it was due to rubbing of chain. But it seems to come from somewhere around the engine. It is increasing as I ride more.

        3. I have seen a few drops of oil on the floor where I parked the bike in night. Oil/coolant levels are ok. Area around air filter has oil/liquid on the surface.

        4. Also I am listening that sewing machine type of sound coming from engine.

        5. There is some free play on the clutch lever. After riding a few kilometers I listen some low pitch vibration from engine area which fades away when the cluch is pulled 1mm ( not engaged, just the freeplay pulled in).

What could be the reasons of these issues? I always wait for a couple of minutes after starting the bike before riding. Also, after riding I leave it in neutral for around a minute before killing the engine. I never accelerate suddenly ( except in first gear which happen despite of keeping control when stuck in traffic)

        Other queries.

        A) What should I use for cleaning/washing/polishing the bike to keep it scratchless. For both fiber and non fiber parts.

        B) would it be helpfull if I change the engine oil and oil filter at 200-250 on the odo.

You're a clear victim of pulsar 200ns xbhp paranoia. ..you have read intensively all the post in this thread and now even a distant horn seems like a engine problem to you...buddy try to relax...
As service is yet to be done ...dont be too cocky about problems, rather enjoy your ride and feel the most out of it...when you visit svc...then blast out all the problems. ..
Yes if u can change oil at 250 ,its good but if u didnt, its not wnd of the world( i didnt changed oil)
For cleaning purposes, i clean my bike with wet cloth only. ..i dont know what kind of polish my svc used. ..but after 2 months of service and heavy rainfall, my bike shines like polished( im still amazed) ,
Btw,i heard about price hike...can u tell me the exact amount u paid for ns..?

Nothing to worry about your Ride...

Its a new bike... So What all your are experiencing now is normal...
Vibs will increase once you reach 450km+

Switch to Motul oil once you cross the Ride-in Period... Bajaj oil is also good, its not that bad...

Handle Bar, Clutch lever, foot peg vib etc are normal at 1st...

Mine has done 4.8k odo now. No vibs on handle bar or foot pegs or brake levers...
I had some vib on the foot pegs and handle bar b4, it was isolated by tuning the Carb and adjusting the wheel alignment...

Little bit of vibs are there in my console and seats... It will go off as i cover more km...

For cleaning, i leave it wash once in a while... I do water wash only if there is lot of sands on the mono shocks and engine part etc...
If not, will clean it with a wet cloth and wipe it dirt off...

Also i do lub my chain once in 600km...

I have few doubts which i have to clarify urgently. I hope all the kind people on this forum help me as soon as possible Now about my bike, She is 1 year and 3 months old but i rode only about 4000 Kms. I maintained her as well as i could but unfortunately my area service centre is horrible (And its the only service centre in my vicinity) I got a call from them for the first time in almost an year saying that there is a discount on service for dussehra. So i need to ask all of your suggestions as to what should be done in this service. The Issues:1. Body vibrations especially when nearing 4000-5000 rpm ( They have been bothering me for almost an year, but the service centre never could rectify it. They always said the parts werent available )2. Engine oil indicator pops up at odd intervals eventhough i have enough oil. 3. The smoothness in my bike which was present in the first month never returned. All i get from the service centre is "It will get better as time goes on" I have been riding for quite long and i find no improvement4. Down shifting is rarely smooth. It always makes a loud sound even after oiling at service. And sometimes it refuses to even shift unless i press harder.P.SI dont know much about engines and carburettors etc as i am a medical student So I want to be well educated this time when i approach the service guys. Thats only possible with your help What should i do for the above mentioned issues? And are there any improvements Bajaj has done for all owners free of cost which i was left out of? I have to give her for service tomorrow, So i will be really really grateful if anyone helps me Thanks in advance
i am in this thread from the day it was started...one of the first owners... and AFAIR you have a red ns..... right...? The best solution for vibrations is to grab a good outside mech and strip the bike fully and then reinstall evrything.... i do it every two months. And i always find that the screws have come loose from everywhere... tye engine oil sensor was faulty in some earlier 220/200ms bikes and you will get it changed under warraty. The vibrations a and the roughness you are mentioning, they always seems like they are coming from the engine...but actually they come from the plastic panels after they get loose.... tighten each and every nut you find inside fairing, tank, rear cowl, engine hanger, suspension and the smoothness again returns for few days.... :-) regarding hard gearshifts well keep on riding and it will go away and tighten the clutch a bit to reduce the freeplay... :-)

Btw, why do I feel the bike vibrates more on higher RPMs on Motul 5100 than it did on Bajaj Oil ? Motul definitely makes gear shifting super smooth, yet something doesn't seem right.

oh lol i see, then I look forward to burning up my clutchplates soon xD.. about stoppies.. can't resist them cos it's so ez now. Just transfer your weight to front wheel and done.
I forgot to ask. what about the gearbox and a broken teeth in future ? Isn't there a great impact on the gear cogs when you dump the clutch ? I hear this unpleasant thud sound down below from gearbox portion when dump the clutch at higher rpms and I feel afraid. Infact, this is my biggest concern.. more than the clutch plates. what's your advise here ? be concerned or just have fun with the bike while I can ? I know in the end im solely responsible for any dmg to my bike, but it's nice to hear what fellow riders have to say about this and that.
Frankly speaking the bike revs much more freely with bajaj oil than with motul. My personal observation. And now when i changed to petronas i get the smoothness of motul with the free revving nature of the bajaj oil. And regarding wheelies it does affect your chain and sprockets but it will still last above 15k kms... i changed mine at 18k.. though there are high chances of teeth breaking from sprocket. And i dont think gearbox is impacted...

what you are facing is absolutely normal. Stop searching for issues and and you wont find any.... btw dont lug the engine at 3k rpm. Rev till 6-7k rpm in 3rd and upper gear... no issues.... not in 1st and 2nd till 1000 kms.... dont pamper your bike...else it will start giving issues when you start to open it up

Thi is probably 8-9th pad running at 18k now... the rear one i changed first at 17.9k kms. My 2nd front pad was a 220 pad which was not able to stop the bike at all with brakes overheating and loss of 80% brakes when heated up when hauing down from speeds. They lasted juat a month around 1.5 kms then they wre gone...

Rode a friend's stock NS with bajaj oil and the response at 2-4k rpm is pretty different. But yes, motul for me for now. I care about how good the engine feels from the inside. I'm searching for petronas after you mentioned it, without luck. How many kms will 300V last on riding above 5-6k rpm most of the time?

Thats why i love my petronas.... motul was creamy smooth with lots of engine protection....but the actual feel of the engine was gone which turned into a differnt bike with a deep grunty exhaust note along with the engine feeling as if something is restricting it to revv and run and its working hard to do it... now with petronas, the oil feels very close to the bajaj oil minus the vibes, roughness and all those.... amd the engine is runing now as it is being let loose after years... bike literally jumping when i release the clutch and wheelspins have increased a lot even with mrf rubber......and i really mean it.... if you ever come across the oil, try it once.... 300v can be stretched till 6.5 approx considering i stretched my 7100 till 9.5k kms

I also guess the same... maybe our riding styles.... i am very very harsh on the brakes everytime be it 120kmph or 20kmph... must be because of that.... but then again..., i had a drum brake tvs flame with front and rear drums.... same riding style and only 1 brake shoe change in 60k kms that too near 45k kms on odo.... so m confused

I cant wait to try the oil. I can only imagine what my shorter final gearing and modifications can do with it!

Do you have rubber Grommet installed in ur console and rear footpegs?

Cos wen i choke b4 i start my bike, i find my rear foot peg, seats, and console do vib
Rear footpegs no...console vibes no because in earliest ns,the no. Plate was supposed to be installed upon.visor, .so there is a little metal plate inside console..which vibes with bike..in many cases. ..so check your ns has a waste metal plate inside console and have it removed. ..tell em.to open all console bolts and fit em from the scratch.
Why do you use choke...? My afr is on leanest...still starts on second click,
