Half an hour ago when I was returning home, two guys on their blue NSs and their gfs as pillions were taunting me for a race. they were well equipped with all the gear. So, out of irritation I accelerated hard, those guys followed screaming. they zoomed past me and i showed the pillions a finger and took a turn to the short cut. Those guys were still going and seemed to stop to look behind.

All I feared was that they were wearing helmet with tinted glass at night. their names should replace the word "idiot".

Already had an incident on that road and didn't want any of us suffering the same. Car drivers are rash in that stretch since the road opens up from the heavy traffic of the city and everyone feels like opening their throttle. and to top all that there is an emergency hospital by the side of that road as if welcoming people(talk about coincidence)

Bro just watch the console for any new indications. If it doesn't show 'engine overheated' icon, you can be sure that everything's fine. I think Bajaj mechs were simply putting it off as normal coz it really is. Anyway, go for a complete change of coolant at 20k kms (I think, according to the manual).

Thanks for the suggestion, let me go ahead and clean the AIR FILTERS and give it a try

Where? Didn't you stop them and confront them? Should have given them a piece of your mind! If not theirs they should have at least considered the lives of their girlfriend!

On the highway from vijayawada to hyderabad route and it is not wise to confront such idiots on that road, believe me I have had my share of incidences. At this time most of the vehicles are trucks, so they should be left on their own. If I was riding with some friends, would have definitely confronted them and taught them a lesson or two, but not this time. even if I raced them, they would have ended up in a ditch of sand ahead of the road where there was a sharp turn. they were better left alone.

And I want to ask a question to the new owners of the ns. Do your bikes have the console buzzing issue, i mean if the problem has been sorted out by bajaj in their latest batches.

My ns is two months and 2.7K on the odo , and yes it has there buzzing issue and honestly it is a buzz kill!! 4K to 6.5K id's like the worst of it. It kills the awesomeness of this awesome bike. I did try the DIY, and frankly did not get the desired result, in fact i guess i it screwed up bit more .
Planning to go to the svc tomorrow.

Thank you for your reply. the headlight panels on the right side have severe scratches and need to be replaced. was hoping the issue was solved so that i could replace the whole headlight assembly including the turn indicators. so I will just touch up the panels with paint as the cost doesn't seem justifying the replacement.

confronting strangers is never a good thing,in my experience these idiots pull you down to their level of stupidity and beat you in the field of stupidity.no use arguing with the crazy careless lot.

i second that opinion, ignore the idiots.

and about console vibs, 99.9% of NS i know have this issue and can be rectified by own or svc, you can find a very good thread on it in DIY section

                    • Pulsar 200 NS - oil on spark plug issue

Bike : Bajaj Pulsar 200 NS 5 month old
                      Odo : 8500kms

for the last few weeks the bike isnt performing smooth like it used to be, the problems being stuttering in smooth acceleration or while holding constant speeds.the mileage dropped drastically from 45kmpl to below 35kmpl under similar route/riding pattern.

cleaned the carb, tuned it but the bike isnt performing well.the mileage is still very low.

on inspection of spark plugs, there is a good quantity of oil deposit on the left side spark plug and its chamber.something tells me the valves have taken a beating.

can someone point out the issue for me? what could cause this oil deposit? since it is covered under warranty what should be done to rectify it?

dont think so,if they did,svc guys wont go through all the trouble of padding it,last service, my bike got double side stickers and thermocol in addition to what padding i had done. so i guess its still the same.

Ok guys. So i managed to open up the rear brake set. As i had thought the rear axle had to be removed slightly in order to remove the brake assembly.

In the above image the axle needs to removed till the point the spacer (marked in red) can be removed easily. Once the space is removed the complete brake assembly can be removed.

the caliper assembly is attached to a small black frame via two tubular screwless pins (marked yellow).

Once the two cotter pins are removed (marked pink), take out the tubular pin and the pads can be removed without any problem.

Since i was working on the caliper i decided on changing the brake fluid as well (just for the sake doing a DIY, since i had a spare bottle of DOT 3 brake fluid. I removed the brake line by removing two banjo bolts connecting the line with the master cylinder and caliper, it took a hard time almost 3 hours to change the fluid due to a simple reason. The line filled with air. Since this was my first DIY i had to face this problem. But then after a lot of trials and head breaking i found the solution which was very simple "gravity". I filled the reservoir with oil and opened the bleeder screw a little so that the fluid could flow into the cylinder. Then i just followed the procedure of removing the air out of the line and i was all set.

I cleaned the up pads with sand paper.

I will upload a small DIY for this procedure.

Just wanted to know which type of brake fluid is better - DOT3 or DOT4?

Is it a ffe. what was the cost. how is the perfromance? some people have tried k&n fileter. if you could, if and only if, find a larger jet size than the stock for the carb, a little bit tuning will definitely help.

plz do post some pics with the ffe.
