I would advice you to wait for atleast 2K kms before tinkering the AFR. Turn the screw 1 turn clockwise, and check the results.Originally posted by jenimu_kanna007 View PostHi... My pulsar 200ns only giving 33kmpl still now very much worried not ripping still its giving such a low mileage i read about the afr screw and saw the pic .... how to tune the screw richer or linear ..... ? like to change the oil i have done 1245km . Motul is not available in our city(madurai) can anyone tell alternative oil for the pulsar 200ns waiting for your valuable reply please help me out of it........
Regarding Oil, any stick to mineral oil for 5000Kms. Bajaj Dtsi Oil is also fine. You can also look for Shell 20W50 Oil. If nothing else work, i'm sure it won't be difficult to get a few bottles of Motul from Chennai / Bangalore. Post 5000Kms, you pour in Motul 7100 and forget it for another 7K Kms!Been There, Done That; Better!

Turn the AFR SCREW "clockwise" about quarter turn and see if there's any difference after you cross 1500kms.Originally posted by jenimu_kanna007 View PostHi... If its mineral oil you are looking for, you can check out Gulf pride 4t, there shell AX series.

yesterday was enjoying riding in rain in my bike.. went through water clogs, was enjoying all...today morning front brake started making squealing noise, i thought it would go away, but even after 50 km of ride, it didnt go. When i slow down it makes constant squealing sound at around 0-10 kmph. Its really irritating.
Another thing, is it normal for braking performance to decrease in wet conditions?? I mean yesterday front lever could be actuated for double the amount it used to actuate in dry conditions on braking completely...

SIce you were riding in wet conditions, so, mud has entered into the brake pads, which is making such Noice, and also the culprit for decreased braking power.
Splash water into the brakes, and that will resolve the issue.sigpicRelationships change, evolve, and it goes deep.
Only thing I can say - "The storm is coming"

As they have said, don't play with AFR as yet. You might want to fiddle with idle rpm though. Ride the bike for good 10 Kms and then set idle rpm to 1.1/1.2K. Avoild half clutch /r long clutch engagements / frequent gear shifts. Meet recommended tire pressures. Then do a tank full method to calculate average post 100/200 kms.Originally posted by jenimu_kanna007 View PostHi... It often takes a humiliating overtake to understand that an early jump off the red light won't help them lead the pact. All I want to say is - Go after green.

Completed 1000 kms yesterday.
And my NS is giving me an astonishing fuel efficiency of over 50 kmpl since the past 2 weeks , with speeds between 55-70 kpmh & occasional bursts with 100% city riding...I'm using regular fuel i.e no Premium / Speed / etc...so happy with it !!
Also I wanted to know that at which RPM your NS touches 100 kph (without crouching)...for example my NS touches 100 kph (speedo indicated) @ precisely 7k RPM...overlook the variation in the speedo errors / weight of the rider / etc...

What will be the result of turning the AFR screw 1 turn clockwise i.e. 360o? Does it improve the mileage, pickup, speed or anything else of the bike? If yes, how much and how? If just to observe, why can’t it be turned 720o?Originally posted by rahuldevnath View PostTurn the screw 1 turn clockwise, and check the results.
Asking it because randante is advising to turn it a quarter turn.

If you go back few pages, this had been discussed in detail. The P200NS has a CV carb with AFR screw which adjusts the petrol flow and affects bike's performance and FE in the 0~4 K RPM range....Turning it clockwise reduces petrol flow and makes it Lean and Vice versa....the actual amount of turns is decided by the 3.5 K RPM crossover to higher RPM , The FE , and cold start ease. A rich AFR gives better cold start, better acceleration but poor FE.
Adjusting in small steps is good for beginners (quarter to half a turn at a time ),till the desired effect is achieved. When Was The Last Time,You Did Something For The First Time.

Back again from a ride once more on the great NS!.. This time it was unplanned hence no pics. Had gone to Nagpur and beyond and came back.
Average Mileage: 49.44kmpl
Speeds : 80-130kmph
Road type : 70% good roads with potholes 20% Only potholes 10% No roads
Puncture : 1
Ridden on puncture : 26kms
Pillion : Yes
Problems : None except some flat spots. Seat as always was not so comfy. Pillion was scared out of her wits most of the time on accelerations.
Horn : Inaudiable to trucks and busses
Chain : Became loose again. Using WD40 spray. Second time it got loose after I tightened it 700kms back. any suggestions why?....Riding the Indian Monster : 200NS....

I also faced the same issue of the chain getting loose in my recent trip...
is the chain getting loose somehow related to the speeds you do?
