Hey fellow owners of NS!
I have finished around 400km and planning to go for the first service at around 600 km. Had a couple of issues which were bugging me and want to sort them out during the first service. Your inputs on the below queries would be extremely helpful as I will have a better idea as to what to tell SVC guys.
1. Suspension – I feel the suspension is a bit harsh and creates trouble even in case of not so big potholes. And pillions are also voicing the same opinion.
Are you people satisfied with the suspension and how can this issue be sorted?
2.Start – The bike gets turned off in less than 4 seconds if I start and do not squeeze the throttle at all or even if I squeeze it very lightly.
Guess it has something to do with some settings right?
3. Tyres – I felt the tyres shake a lot more than what my Pulsar 150’s did when I try to venture on the paint that separates two sides of a road or small gaps that exist at some place instead of the paint.
Is there any way of fixing this without getting the tyres changed?

Looks like a new member trying to ignite a fire
even the post isnt well written, with a mish-mash of some random dudes' problems. if they really have so much problem with their bikes, i wonder how posting it on xbhp will solve it
moreover, this thread has over half a million views already and more than 6000 replies. anyone else thinks the Pulsar 200NS is a "flop bike"?

1. Switch to fully synthetic oil during second service. Try factory (mineral) oil for another service. I have switched to Motul 3100 Gold (20W50) (SS) and thinking of switching back to mineral as apparently no difference was found.
2. Switch to different grades as would void warranty and never know what problems it might create internally since engine is rev hungry.Originally posted by nilesh14587 View PostI don't remeber exactly, but its 900+ only in Pune as well.
And did you mean 10W50 and not 10W40?? any xW50 is OK for NS as recommended grade is 20W50. Colder the normal ambient temperature lower should be x. I am running on 15W50 in Pune. I think in winters, 10W50 should be OK in Delhi.
EDIT: 300v @ second service is too early, use it after 10000km. Right now you can just stick to SS (3100).
Just my opinion..
Thanks for replies guys.....Originally posted by rahuldevnath View PostOne can experiment with 10W40 for winters. However because 200NS has short stroke, high revving engine it heats up much more. In Delhi, it won't before end of November, before you can make use of lower grade oils, that too till about the end of JAN. But yes, we can use lower grade oil during winters. However cold start issues is will not be affected by using XXW40 instead of XXW50 grade oil. For cold performance, look for 00W50, 10W50 etc oil.
I had read in forums that going for FS oils is fine after 5k kms, any reasons to wait for 10k kms.....???
How is motul 7100 20w50 compared to 300v, its much cheaper and its fully synthetic but with single ester as against double ester in 300v.
The SVC guys were recommending me 7100 on the first service itself but I refused.
Is motul available in 10w50....??

Observations
Guys my observation from 3 days ride:
1. Never skip the morning/first start method. Always keep the engine switched on for at least a min.
2. Gear gets stuck sometime but its starting to feel a lot smoother.
3. Bike is pretty smooth, only 110 kms done btw.
4. With every km, problems are reducing.
5. Rear view mirror is total waste
Can any one please help me out there? I can't ride without that.
6. Little vibrations on my left leg, but not much.
7. RPM was at 2.3 K in first gear n after applying kill switch, it would come back to 1.7K
N another thing i wanna know is that today I was riding my around 60 KM/H & RPM was either at 4K or 5K.
In between my fiend did rip it a bit but not for more than 5 seconds.
I hope this wont affect my bike's engine right because as per manual we should not cross 50 KM/H
Kindly help me out and comment on my ridding as only 110 kms are doneBeing best is not about beating everyone. It's about how much you learn from others and make yourself even better

Nope...will be collecting it somewhere around (or along with) @rahulbarik's NS. No plans, just coincidence.
As far as your idle RPM is concerned, 1.3k to 1.7k is fine. So you should be cool with it.
And congos for the milestone!

This definitely is a tunning issue.......Originally posted by neoakshay View PostHi guys,
I'm currently at 3700km on ODO and have been experiencing a strange fuelling (?) issue for the past 200-300km.
The bike feels like it's running out breath when approacing 7,000rpm and continues this till I'm almost at 8,000rpm.
At 8,000rpm there's a sudden surge and the bike shoots off. This is very disconcerting while cruising on highways!
If I pin the throttle when doing 100kmph, there's a lag of about 5-6 seconds after which the bike blasts off towards
120kmph.
Being used to my R15, I'm not too familiar with tuning the carb. Will need your help Rahul Devnath.
I'm sure this is
a tuning issue, though I'm confused as to how this issue could have started off by itself. No tuning was done by me
or any mech...
