  • Re: Pulsar 200 NS

Hi.. good morning guys. I just gave my bike today for the first servicing. They told that they are going to change the engine oil which will be bajaj dts i and an oil filter. Apart from that when i told them about the problems which i am facing that is clutch is tight and is located far because of which my fingers finds it tough to hold it easily and suspension is a bit hard. And gear shifting is hard too. The bajaj guy told me that they will only resolve the gear shifting issue as clutch is like that only in all 200ns and suspension is hard only as it is mono suspension. I doubt if these people know anything or not about this bike

*well my bike also goes to the left side when both hands are off the handle.

          Hi,

I am also facing the same issue, when I leave the handle it tends to move in the left direction. I have got my first svc done and explained the same to the svc guys. They did some changes but still the problem is there. I don't know how to get it sorted. Moreover they did not even have the oil filter and said that it would be only available post 20 days. I am worried if not changing the same during svc is going to affect the engine in anyway.
Need help regarding both the issues, would be greatful if someone can explain what needs to be done.

if you want to see how much dirty the ns can get then come and have a look at my bike..rode in rains yesterday without hugger...ask the rest to myth, shiba and toxicbiker... Mud come splashing all the way up from the rear tyre to the helmet and then the console... @funnysarvi: its petrol which drained out of the overflow tube... Could be coolant too, but coolant is green. So its petrol. Nothing to worry... @shiba: awesum pics man.. @govind: looking neat and [email protected]: nothing to worry about oil filter but get it changed soon... Go the ktm service centre and get the duke oil filter and fit it otherwise @chintan: sure bro but i aint coming to mumbai anytime soon...

            • Drain interval (days or kms) and long term affect on FE

              hello friends

i am buying a new bike(p200ns ) in a couple of days(or weeks) so i have a query about how to maintain my aging activa

it has clocked 49400kms till now

now that i am buying a new bike what type of service schedule for it should i follow

drain interval is 2.5-3k kms for mineral oil but i will ride that much in almopst a year so when shud i change the oil? when i complete the no. of kilometers or every 4-5 months?

since my daily riding is hardly 10kms i would complete only around 1.2k kms every 4 months on the new bike

after the free and paid service what type of service interval should i be following?

the second part of the question is a general query on why do vehicles offer lower FE as time passes...what are the factors and is there any way to regain the original FE after lets say 3-4 years of ownership...

I can see other people are also facing the same issue.

                  • Most of the bikes come with wheel balancing weights on the rims, did you have those or did you lose one ? This weight are used to correct the alignment issues, if not, check for fork bend, which is unlikely as its a new bike and you dint mention about any accidents or falls.

                    Cheers

I dont think he's dropped his weight or anything. This problem persists in most NSs. Even mine, even @Rahulbarik, others too. The settings might have been like this from the factory itself.

                        • Its small weights of 10gm or 5 gms and all that are fixed on to the rims, like wheel balancing done on car rims,
I had mine on the 220, and also there in many other bikes, it comes factory fitted, don't know where it can be done outside. Try your Tyre dealers and maybe they can help. As for pics i don't have them either. Some other members might be able to help you there.

Check the tyre pressure, wheel alignment and finally try removing the saree guard. Might work, but not sure.

                            • Ideally speaking it shouldn't happen, the bike must be properly aligned, otherwise , it caused staring to the body, our body subconsciously corrects those slight alignment problem by giving more pressure at the handle bars, but it does makes the body more tired. Though mostly in the long run only.

I had the weights on my bike and that time it was perfect, i lost the front end bar weights and then slight alignemnt issues started popping up, nothing big, but still, its better to get it sorted.

@JK, is it there on your bike too ? I dint feel when i rode yours.
