i have done around 1k on the odo in the past 20 days and i can hardly move my left thumb.. End result - i have stopped using the indicators and signal by hand..Originally posted by Rajeevraj View PostExtensive use of the clutch in stop-go traffic results in quite a bit of pain in my hand. Not sure if it is just because it is new and I need to get used to it or whether there is an ergo issue. We are so busy watching out for what\'s just ahead of us, that we don\'t take time to enjoy where we are ~ Bill Watterson

If it is a cold start, did you warm it up for atleast a min before riding?Originally posted by Hiteshjain6188 View Postmy pulsar 200 ns starts to misfire ( sort of) and after few minutes of riding engine shuts down and doesn't start untill its cooled down....then it again starts and idles continously at 1.5K.We are so busy watching out for what\'s just ahead of us, that we don\'t take time to enjoy where we are ~ Bill Watterson

Agree - you might face heating in traffic and a lower average as well..Originally posted by vinay 200 ns View Post2 is too much..

When it takes 3 self to start then I use choke this happens occasionally to me.
Everyday I am following this procedure I start the bike & leave it for some 15 sec with idling then Ill raise the acceleration to 2 rpm for 5 sec then raise it till 3 rpm for 10 sec & then zooommmmm.
This is the procedure I used form past 8 years with my old pulsar & I swear never I had a starting trouble one self or one kick it used to start sometimes its two kicks. my choke in old pulsar was never used to work the cable becomes harder without using it & when we do force apply on choke cable used to cut or the fiber choke used to broke.Originally posted by vinay 200 ns View PostMay be its because new battery also. how much Kms you have done ? wait till you reach 1500 Km on ODO. Yes 1.6 makes more noise.
Recently after 1st service the svc people have kept my Rpm to 1.3 & when I did around 20Kms in city limits it reached at 1.6 one of my friend commented why the engine has more noise ?
@Vinay 200 ns : For the first part, Choke is not soemthing we use everyday to start the bike. I guess you need to adjust the idling. The method you use is somewhat hopping over the limit to me. The manual may be conservative, but suggests some things very well. Stick to the manual version of starting and idling. Personal opinion, the manual version does seem to me as a better version.
Also, just to avoid noise or sound or music of the engine, don't let it idle very low. Your engine might not get switched off, but it might be on that low limit. Its a 200cc engine, needs more RPM to idle. Its not a Honda smooth engine(might be close to that Honda type silent) so please expect some noise/voice/sound/music to the ears while starting.
@Sagar_phoenix : same as above mate. Get to the SVC to adjust the idling if you can't do it yourself. I fiddled around for like 3-4 months to find that sweet spot of idling for my Pulsar 150 with all kinds of permutations and combinations. Its a new bike, give it some time to settle down. Don't hurry. Make sure you warm up the engine nicely (warm up is the level lower to getting heated up) before you adjust the idling. It should be mentioned in the manual.Originally posted by sagar_phoenix View PostWell, this is my first bike
Sometimes it takes 4 to 5 starts to idle without stalling. And it does make a lot of noise after a long ride when it idles at 1.6k RPM.

Now thinking i should have gone with good old Yamaha.@Hiteshjain6188 : Go to the SVC and ask them to check your AFR. I believe your AFR is tuned to the leanest and hence that overheating. Also, check the coolant level and engine oil level. Top up if required. Don't ride it more but enough to make it to the SVC. This will help you any troubles. Also, idling at 1.5K is ok for what I believe, you leave it for some time to cool down to tolerable level and not that cold which we have it early in themorning or after the engine has cooled down to its natural temperature.Originally posted by Hiteshjain6188 View Postmy pulsar 200 ns starts to misfire ( sort of) and after few minutes of riding engine shuts down and doesn't start untill its cooled down....then it again starts and idles continously at 1.5K.Regards,

I did my first service @ 649kms and now completed 1200kms. Now I feel the engine is not smooth enough as it was in first 500kms. I have been riding it sanely in 3.5 - 4.5 range. I felt the lack of smoothness after 500 kms and I thought it will be alright after the first service but the smoothness didnt came back. The service guy told me that the oil filter wasnt changed as it was not in stock. In manual, oil filter replacement is marked with a * saying 'if only applicable' What could be the reason for lack of smoothness ? I checked the oil levels and its normal. Will the replacement of oil filter make any difference ?

Nice selection for RED beastOriginally posted by Sachin Blore View Postview from all sides

Guys, got my registration number. Done number plate.
A guy (who has a P150) in number plate work shop, went
after seeing my NS. He suddenly sat on the bike without asking me. Guys, you won't know my feeling at that time.... aaaaaaaaargh.....

his friends clicked some pictures... the that moron asked the key. I said I'll never give. Then he asked why? I said, its like that, I never give key to anyone. And said its under run-in.... here comes fun part... he asked "run-in??? what in the world is that??"... at that moment I looked into his Pulsar. Then I understand why he asked it..!!

There are lot of morons out there... never give key to them. Only give your key to close friends who know well about bikes and how it works.sigpicUSED IN PAST: Ct100, Victor, Xcd 135For a true motorcyclist, the straight portions of the roads exist just to take him from one turn to the next!
