my guess ,Yellow, coz once u see it in flesh u find it really gorgeousOriginally posted by Shibadip View PostVery correctly put..
@all - I had almost written off Yellow from my list,
Oh.. I didn't mention the colour I chose.. Did I??

Should be a mix of both but <40 kmph is too very less. Vary it from 40-60 kmph.
Appreciate your help mates!!
Muchas Gracias!!What i do is when i start the engine, i just rev it lil ,till 2-3 k rpm , for 5-5 seconds and then leave it for idling for a minute. this way it doesnt switch off. Mine cold idles at 1.1 k.Originally posted by sad_general View PostGuys, got my Red beauty on Friday the 17th, started riding yesterday as i was out of town till monday night, and already did 100 on the ODO
. Some issues though. Thing is, in the morning, its prescribed to run the engine in idle for a minute or so before riding. But my engine switches off and I have to keep revving (not above 4.5k rpm) to keep it in idling. Is what I am doing right? or should I get it checked up? Also, I am using it for my daily office commute which is 25km outside the city so I do a highway riding of 35-40km everyday, and during this time, I cruise at 60-65 kmph, though the rpm remains below 4.5k. Is that fine. I would really appreciate if anyone would reply to this..
The reality is there are few mild vibrations in the bike, specially at higher rpms. you can feel them at seat, black fibres just below the yellow tank cover, rear brake lever, pillion foot pegs and also very mild at handlebars. I have reported this long back. Also found it on some other 2 -3 new bikes. many people may have not reported this coz they are yet to ride at higher rpms. I have got used to it now and feel its part of the package.Originally posted by Speedshift View PostGuys from past few days when I ride my NS I notice that there's always a tik tik sound coming from the handlebars whenever I am travelling on roads that are not smooth (not bad roads), its not the kat kat sound from front shocks but a slight tik, what could be the reason...???

Also I am about 2300 on the ODO and the bike is not as smooth as it was earlier and now there are too much vibes ahead of 5k RPM, the next service is due at 4500kms and the bike feels like it needs servicing now only.

Patched up the rear mudguards ? upload the pic.
now am hunting for some kind of fiber material for rear mod, planning to remove the rear Tyre hugger & will prevent the bike tail lamps getting dirty.Anyone driving slower than you is an idiot, and anyone going faster than you is a maniac.

Ok, the guess vote for Yellow v/s Red till now is 3:1...Originally posted by faffy View Postmy guess ,Yellow, coz once u see it in flesh u find it really gorgeous
The suspense keeps on till the end of the month..
Why don't you shoot a mail to bajaj asking for a clarification..Originally posted by faffy View PostThe reality is there are few mild vibrations in the bike, specially at higher rpms. you can feel them at seat, black fibres just below the yellow tank cover, rear brake lever, pillion foot pegs and also very mild at handlebars. When I test rode NS, felt tingling high-frequency vivrations on my thighs, comming form the Frame..,but no vivbes on the handlebars.
Handlebar vivbes will b quite irritating.

Anyways reg the mail , had already done long back, around a month back when my bike was just a week old and had 1-2 more issues. For that a special technical as well as senior staff team had come from Bajaj to showroom. They rectified other issues and reg the vibes they said its totally normal acc to them. I had already posted this i guess. Also i found the vibes in other brand new bikes. So i guess its really part of the package.
And dont worry, handlebar vibes are very very mild, ul not feel much. But cant say about speeds above 120+ .haven't tested it at that speed. My ride....My SUNSHINE... :)

Will do soon. Not getting chance to get pics in good light. Anyway its similar to what earlier solutions have been on this thread. Patching up with plastic bag.Originally posted by vinay 200 ns View Post

Even I am looking for some better looking and permanent kind of solution for rear tire. The patch thinggy looks 'not-so-good' and is temporary only. The problem is the two split pieces are of different counters.
What about a complete (and not the split) mudguard of earlier version of p135?? Something like that would be great. We can put it up for monsoon and remove it later. But i just wish Bajaj could come up with better design which would do its intended job well, i.e. preventing mud sprinkles. Two roads diverged in a wood, and I--
I took the one less traveled by,

Take your bike to some other service center....Originally posted by ajai5777 View PostI did my first service @ 649kms and now completed 1200kms. Now I feel the engine is not smooth enough as it was in first 500kms. I have been riding it sanely in 3.5 - 4.5 range. I felt the lack of smoothness after 500 kms and I thought it will be alright after the first service but the smoothness didnt came back. The service guy told me that the oil filter wasnt changed as it was not in stock. In manual, oil filter replacement is marked with a * saying 'if only applicable' What could be the reason for lack of smoothness ? I checked the oil levels and its normal. Will the replacement of oil filter make any difference ?

what happened ?.. what made you think that way ?Originally posted by Hiteshjain6188 View PostGreatly disappointed by the way bike is behaving in just two days of ownership.
Now thinking i should have gone with good old Yamaha.
oil filter has nothing to do with engine smoothness .. do you feel any dead spots while accelerating ?Originally posted by ajai5777 View PostI did my first service @ 649kms and now completed 1200kms. BTW, Welcome back after a long time..i think vibrations are mainly due to bad quality plastic parts .. fit and finish levels also not good .. if you feel ns has good quality plastic parts then park it next to R15 , fazer , duke and compare for yourself .. touch , feel & observe every single detail and i am sure you will figure out the difference ..Originally posted by faffy View PostThanks, but i did post in between

Lowering gear lever and rear brake lever position
has anybody else tried lowering the position of gear lever and rear brake lever? I tried doing it to make the seating position sporty but could not as there was not enough play remaining and was touching other parts, and hence was not able to engage first gear.... can somebody try and confirm? My ride....My SUNSHINE... :)

Dude first congrats on the bike. Let it not look like that everybody on the forum is jumping on you. But strong opinions not based on strong facts need equally strong reactions. First let us stick to issues and not bash manufacturers or brands. I am not getting into a point by point rebuttal as it has been ably done by the other members. But i have a few basic questions to ask you:Originally posted by Samarth 619 View PostSudhir's Topic Approved and merged here.
Firstly, welcome to Xbhp and don't post your contact details in public, specially NOT your RESIDENCE/ ADDRESS. ok?
And as for your points, I think I need to reply to them:
1. When YZF R15 with a smaller engine (no offence, its a fantastic bike), it did not come with a Centre Stand, and it retailed for a serious Rs. 1.17 Lacs, then where were you buddy? What about Honda CBR 1000RR or BMW S1000RR which retails for Rs. 14 and 18 Lacs respectively, not having a centre stand?
NS means Naked Sports. Sportsbikes abroad don't come with centre-stands. Its upto you, as to how quick you get used to it.
Rs. 500 is somewhat fine for a centre stand. It just takes the price to 95.5k, right? Its still better than some 150cc's costing 1.3 Lacs, isn't it? (no offence)
2. Ok, maybe a solid reason, but will have to get the horn's power verified. And not whether its one or two horns.
3. So what? Is it that big a thing?
You can't twist it left while locking??
4. Yes, that's a valid point. No worries. Ride slow right now, and after 25k kms you can change it to MRF Zappers. Is it that big if you will keep your bike even for 2 years minimum?
5. Will have to ask owners if this is same all over India, or just Delhi.
6. It gives you a range of approx 40 kmpl X 12 litres = 480 kilometres.
Or about 400 kms before reserve.
Is it that bad for city needs? No, I don't think so.
When people are getting a 23 horsepower bike for under Rs. 1 Lacs, then they are not getting fooled. They are the guys who made the wise decision "knowingly".
Can't you see any positive side to things? You're complaining about a bike which:
* retails for under a lac even today in 2012,
* makes 23 bhp,
* and could give 50 kmpl in good conditions,
Which other Indian/ Imported bike meets all the above characteristics? Tell me?
As far as "Basics" are concerned, your definition of basics is confusing. For many of us, "basics" are the engine, frame, seat, lighting, etc. which are very good in NS I believe.
I'm not being an advocate but I don't like it, when people don't appreciate someone's efforts for flimsy reasons.
1. How many times have you done distances over 350kms a day a not come across a fuel pump? (let us be practical and not hypothetical)
2. There are always design quirks in any product and the one side locking is one of them.
3. I have found the eurogrips ok so far knee downs at 60 in 4th is not bad). They are not as bad as people make them out to be. But being bikers we always like to have the best as far as performance is concerned and this is the main reason for people to crib.(i just changed the front brake line to a steel braid)
4.superbikes dont come with a saree guard so are the likes of Ducati and Aprilia ripping us off or dont have the basics of design in place.
I rest my caserev head

The tik tik sound could be Cone Set. Get it tightened. The bike has lost smoothness because of the oil. At the SVC, the chain has been tightened, that noise is normal.Originally posted by Cali115 View PostGuys,
Is the sound (like kzzzzzzzzz) from chain normal? I dint notice it earlier maybe cuz of helmet
now after first service one of my fren who was riding beside me on his Pulsar 200 (old) told me about that sound. I feel its normal. but is there any max limit to the volume or something? should i get it checked at the svc?
and Vibrations is a issue, even I am facing it at 5k RPM. Maybe a design flaw in the chassis
need to get taht checked as well. also after first service, when the bike comes down to a halt from 50-60, at the last moment I can feel vibrations on the brake lever
not sure what that might beBeen There, Done That; Better!

Earlier version of P135 mudguard wont suit Ns it doesn't look sporty & spoils the look of bike.Originally posted by nilesh14587 View PostWill do soon. Not getting chance to get pics in good light. Anyway its similar to what earlier solutions have been on this thread. Patching up with plastic bag.

My next mod will be for rear portion, am going to remove rear tyre hugger & mod with rear number plate holder.. Will do it as a permanent solution & neat job only.Anyone driving slower than you is an idiot, and anyone going faster than you is a maniac.

I did contact both of them( buy place & local SVC), the local person did tried to avoid me but i asked his name and that did the trick enough to send two person to my home(they are learning to cater to customers nowOriginally posted by Rahulbarik View Postvisit the svc ASAP. And send a mail to bajaj regarding your problems... They will give you special care...
)
Thanks for reply Aakash, went to SVC and they resolves the problem and also adjusted the rpm to 1.5 in moderately heated engine.Originally posted by Akash.Yadav View Post@Hiteshjain6188 : Go to the SVC and ask them to check your AFR. I believe your AFR is tuned to the leanest and hence that overheating. Also, check the coolant level and engine oil level. Top up if required. Don't ride it more but enough to make it to the SVC. This will help you any troubles. Also, idling at 1.5K is ok for what I believe, you leave it for some time to cool down to tolerable level and not that cold which we have it early in themorning or after the engine has cooled down to its natural temperature.
Bang on Udaysagar, the with my bike was exactly as u told, i saw this post of urs after getting home from svc, otherwise u could have resolved my problem, this system of forums is nice isn't it.Originally posted by udaysagar View Post
i faced exactly the same problem jus 2 days after i bought the bike .. and i thot it might be a big problem .. took it to the svc .. and the problem was that the petrol pipe was getting pressed .. they rectified it ..
may b this is the issue even wid ur bike ..
Got a big weight off my mind now i can get on with other things.

Is it possible to tighten the cone set at home or does it require to be taken to the SVC....??Originally posted by rahuldevnath View PostThe tik tik sound could be Cone Set. Get it tightened. The bike has lost smoothness because of the oil. Which Oil did you poured in during first SVC?
The oil was Bajaj DTSI oil, I was also thinking the same that the oil has lost its smoothness, should I replace it with Motul 5100 15w50 and delay my second service from 4500 to 4700 or 4800 by that time the engine should be ready for 300V fully synthetic oil.
