yes I feel some dead spots while accelerating in 6th gear that too sometimes only. Another important thing I noticed was dead spot thing is heavy when fuel level reaches to reserve. I can feel that even befroe 15-20 kms before reserve. Is it normal ? and how to bring back the smoothness which I had in first 500 kms?

My earlier bike was P150 (2008-2012) it was always smooth after every service.
yeah ajai..i felt once in a long ride after 15 kms...before reserve and after going thrgh reserve condition..what is the reason..if any others having this prob...

Well, I would say, get your friends to teach you on lower segment bikes. Since its your new and first bike, you might be blown by the performance of 150-180cc segment as well. Yes, they can do that to a newbie. Jumping on to NS is not bad as they have made it as user friendly as possible, but to enjoy and extract the best out of this beast, try to get some run on lower cc bikes to get a feeling of how the throttle, balance, gearshifts, brakes work. I assure you, since you have got some mileage on cars, by 100-150 kms riding you can jump the graduation from commuter(150-180) to sports(NS in particular). All The Best mate.

Thanks buddy, you make me feel like such a kid btw , will start on a cd dawn

      • Got my Hotshot finally

        Hi Guys,

I have finally got my Hot Shot Bumblebee today .., had to wait for more than a month since booking and atleast 3 weeks since i made the full payment... the showroom people are saying that there is a HUGE demand for Yellow colour and hence the shortage...

The bike is simply a charm to drive and the nasty Bangalore traffic is just killing the fun with constant braking and clutching ...

However i have encountered one problem over here. The bike is leaking petrol when parked on the side stand

I have for the time being turned the fuel knob to OFF position and it has stopped the leakage... the leakage is only occurring when the bike is on the side stand...

I recollect another XBHP member encountering the fuel leakage who had posted in this thread many pages back...

Will take the bike to the service center tomorrow straight away ass it is just opposite to my office. Just hoping that it isnt something major.

        • The email to bajaj worked, but now i feel pretty guilty, the showroom called me to come take delivery tomorrow, but they said they had to take a lot of heat for delaying the order :/ feel sorry for them, my dad explains how much pressure they are under since it is a new product.

              • A simple strange issue I faced last weekend

I was on my way to Nandi Hills(A hillstation about 60 KMS from Bangalore).
A the start of the ascent had to switch off the bike as there was a police checkpost... later when I turned the key to start the bike, the electronic console would not turn on... I tried switching off/on a couple of times but nothing worked... then had to jump start the bike....
Once atop Nandi Hills... switched off the bike and tried again, the console came up... but when I tried to start the bike, every thing switched off....
My initial reaction was like "OMG the battery has a defect"...
Somehow managed to reach home without turning off the bike...
And took it to a battery shop close by...

Found out that the nut connecting the wire to the battery was loose... after tightening it, the bike is working fine ...

One strange thing I noticed is, in the tools provided, there is no spanner to open the front seat...

                    • Hey guys,
Just to tell you my experience, ad some 2 liters of petrol in the tank so in the night of day before yesterday i filled 100rs ka petrol from the petrol pump in front of Agriculture College gate on university road (Pune). The petrol was of such a bad quality that my NS started sounding like it was ripped on day one. There was simply too much knocking, less power and stressed engine with pathetic firing. I somehow finished most of the fuel and today evening filled some 6liters of Shell Super petrol. The engine become smooth right from the moment i left the pump..Phew... I have seen effect of bad fuel before as well on my Passion. But this was really extreme and gave me a real scare. But now its all OK. Hopefully the engine isn't screwed up too bad..

Only Shell from now on. The petrol you get in Pune is really pathetic quality (adulterated) and many pump attendants are cheats. Do we have any thread like "Trusted petrol pumps" on xBHP??

BTW I will be completing 250KM on ODO by this weekend. And I want to change engine oil (And also wanna get the from disc break sound issue resolved). From whatever i have read on xBHP so far, I know that a mineral oil would be best in run-in period (its cheaper as well i think right??). I don't think DTSi 10000 is a mineral oil, is it?? Could anyone please suggest any appropriate mineral oil for NS?? I will switch back to DTSi on 1st service. With this oil change i can delay the 1st service to 700KM may be. Till then all the issues would have cleared. So i can get them resolved in one go.
Two roads diverged in a wood, and I--
I took the one less traveled by,
And that has made all the difference...

                        • P200NS owners, i need your help on clarifying certain points. I am buying NS in some days.

                          1) I have heard some complaints about the vibrations and I could not ignore that, I want to know if anyone faced it and if so, at what speeds?

                          2) I want to know the OTR price in Bangalore?
I visited the RV Bajaj showroom and the dealer says its 1,01,000 On Road.Is this reasonable?

                          3) The pillion seat was one more concern for me, since I am plaaning to keep the bike for atleast 5 years and I will be getting married within 2 years and my wife should be able to be seated comfortably. I tried sitting in my friend's NS pillion seat and found that it is vvery high and although I was able to climb up, my wife would be able to?? and also will the pillion get the back pain and feel like to fall from the bike???

                          4) Can I expect the same mileage if I change the tyres to MRF Zappers? Or will the mileage decrease? And the skid decreases right? I rode my friends's NS and it skids a lot!!(Any owners have changed them)??

                          5) I will be travelling 55km daily, so is the bike comfortable for that?(Anyone facing Back pain)

                          6) If you are a P200NS owners, what is the current mileage and the ODO reading?

                          7) Any other cons I should be aware of?

                          Thanks in advance

dead spots while coming to reserve is normal but it has to be considered as an issue when you have enough fuel ..
i will list out the things to check for your issues .. follow them in the same order ..
-- check for dead spots while acceleration in all gears ( not only 6th )..
                              -- check throttle cable
-- check air filter for any blockages
-- check the fuel pipe .
                              -- check engine oil level
-- if you are getting dead spots only when the engine is hot then check coolant level and look for leaks ..
-- carb might need proper tuning .. take it to the best svc and ask them to tune the AFR screw .. engine will obviously feel rough if the engine is running on very lean or very rich mixture ... i am pretty sure this tuning will solve your problem

Let us all meet after we get our bike and then we can discuss the Range/Type/Brand of helmet we want.
Buying 4-5 helmet at once can be made from the whole-seller at retailer's price.
