I seriously think as you being the advocate & true confidant of Bajaj. Hats off to you.

    1. We live in India buddy not abroad. The difficulties faced in Indian conditions are totally different than those faced elsewhere.
Bajaj has not done any Great Favour to either me or anyone else in providing a bike under a lac rupees & taking such petty things off.
Kindly tell me my friend with such good common sense that why is bajaj providing all these things in their own Pulsar 150,180,200 & even 220F (tell me is this also not a sports bike or only Naked sports only takes all beating) & even in their cheapest to highest (excepts NS) gets them.

    2. Before replying just verify the bike thoroughly , then reply . It has only single horn & such cheap sound. I hope that by now you must have heard that.

    3. Do you know the daily difficulties we face or you are an alien to that. In a tight parking space where you have no option , but to insert your bike in that , you cannot lock in the left hand side & only right side , then what will you do ? Leave it & let the thief do its work.

    4. Just don't talk in air ok. I am in talks with bajaj & other tire manufacturers. Right now no one has the same tyre size only Pirelli has it. but I will try to get them ASAP.

    5. Dude , I travel beyond city limits 3-4 times a week & 12 liters is not sufficient at all. Is this same with all sports bikes & bajaj's own bike like other Pulsars in which it itself provides the same.
Did bajaj had any enmity while making this bike , I do not know.
Also kind fellow just check bikes average by various magazines & my personal experience not more than 30 or 34kmpl at the max.

    6. Parts availability for this bike & other bikes is an issue. 1. No central stand available. 2. Met with an accident on 21st may right side leg guard not available. 3 . Right side leg brake twisted not available . 1 month is over .
Bajaj will soon raise its price , due to high input costs. look at the business news channels.

All are valid reasons mister, not flimsy. Because he who suffers only knows the problem , not any stranger.
Both of you have your opinions, doesnt mean he is a bajaj advocate or you are a bajaj critic!

    1. The NS is marketed as a sports bike and its perimeter frame is mainly for cornering. So I think Bajaj thought that giving the centre stand as an accessory will be better as most of the people will not need it. ( I am one among them and I have no trouble with the side stand ) And as said above, 500 Rs is reasonable for a centre stand if you need one.

    2. The horn is weak. That I agree with you wholeheartedly.

    3. I have not faced a problem for this issue until now. But Its my personal opinion. You might be having a problem with it.

    4. I think before everyone starts bashing the tyres, Let me tell you, they are more than good for daily rides! If you are into serious touring or cornering, then only you need to change it. The rear tyre of my bike skid once when braking suddenly from 60 but it regained composure in less than a second.

    5. The mileage which i get is around 40 and a 480 km range seems like it will be sufficient as kaydee_bangalore pointed out, there are plenty of petrol pumps on highways.

    6. This point i agree with you. But Spare parts and service will improve as time passes.

And as everyone is saying, Please look at the many positives before looking at the few negatives.

Agree with you Sagar. I think the tyres are good for normal riding conditions.. I have covered tarmac and gravel surfaces (dry and wet) in my last 1000Km and have not felt the bike loose composure. The one time it did feel unsettled, was because of my own fault.
If you are going to constantly push the bike to its limits, only then will you feel the need for better tyres.

        Well from my own experience:
        Good pumps:
        • HP (i think) inline with Ranka Jewelers on Karve Road
        • Shell on service road warje ahead of Mai Mangeshakar Hospital on same side (This is the one I visited BTW)
        • The one in front of RTO office
        Buggers:
        • Both the pumps on Karve road opp of Ranka Jewelers
        • The one In front of MacD Kothrud (once had Speed from here, was bad quality)
Thanks for the update buddy. Still waiting for rear mud flap mod pics

hmmmm... nice tone and response there... specially when you are addressing to a Moderator, who know what he says and speaks. I'm hoping that Samarth would take you comment with a pinch of salt and a smile on his face, because he's quite a matured and responsible person

I'm a Pulsar 200 NS owner and I'm neigther a fanboy nor a hater, because I believe in the functional elements of a motorcycle. So, the points you have raise are very much valid, all the points, but at the same time, the tone and aura that you created around those points do not hold that much sanity.

So, I being an owner of the motorcycle that's freaking you out so much, let me answer your questions -

          1) Center Stand - Duke 200 is being made in India and no one.. no one in this country, planet or in this universe expects and complains about the lack of Center Stand. Just because it's a Bajaj and the previous iterations of Pulsars have center stand does not make it paramount that the NS should also have it. With the NS and the Duke 200 Bajaj is trying to create world level products and Bajaj is just following the trends. I'm pretty sure, if having saree guard was not a rule in India, Bajaj wouldn't have plonked that too.

          2) I'm with you on the horn and the primary reason is that, because the NS uses a dry cell battery, therefore care has been taken not to load the battery unnecessarily. You won't like a situation when the battery dies on you at a very critical point. So, the question is why a dry cell battery? Well, all boils down to efforts to make the bulky bits compact and contribute to mass centralization. Every manufacturer has it's own way and this is Bajaj's.

          3) The first day I took the bike out of showroom, the bike saw it's exhaust below water, off-roading in mud and cutting through traffic and all that without a single skid. I know the tyres are not top notch, but they are not that bad either that we start feeling so bad about them. Even the soft compunds on SBKs take time to brake in and without which they skid so violently that it would scare the hell out of the riders. It takes a good 300-400 kms to brake in the tyres properly. But yes, if anyone want's the go for a change, should always go for better tyres. FZ front and R15 V 2.0 are a perfect fit on the NS and works well. I, personally won't go in for a tyre change, as I'm not having any issues with it till date. Those rubber allowed me to do a knee touch down even when they were around 200 km old.

          4) I park the bike in the most crappiest of office parking in entire Gurgaon and till date I didn't had any issues with either one side lock or parking the bike on side stand. As a matter of fact, my previous Pulsar 200 had both side locking and never used the right side locking. This is more of a personal taste. For security, well, this is India, no matter which side you lock the bike, if it's your bike's day, then it's the day. My previous Pulsar 200 got stolen from a gated, guarded parking in just 7 minutes, when it was properly locked (just the central lock that is on left side)

          5) 11 - 13 litres of fuel tank capacity is the average that most of the motorcycles have. Above all, every bike has all the needed bells and whistels to alert the rider before hand to let the rider know that what the fuel level is. A true tourer, even when touring on a SBK always has provisions for re-fuelling. But then again, what you are saying might be right, but then again, do you really feel that this is such a big issue that it would need all this hue and cry?? The Xbhp team had a Duke in the Grand Indian Road Trip. Ever wondered how did they do that with the Duke having a 10 litres capacity

          6) The NS just came in. Give it some time to settle. Parts would be available and availability would get proper in some time.

At last I would say, grow up a bit and show some respect to the seniors and mods

          Cheers and Ride Safe

Yes, I did try to adjust the gear level to the lowest position, and it does start touching the lower push rod of gear. But that's how it is in 200NS.

anyone heard the sound from tappet while accelerating or keeping steady for a few seconds?
Tappet noise, Oil Pressure sensor are known issues.

Please stop joking around! Did anybody held you to ransom to buy the 200NS. Apart from the fact that spares are not available, all other points are not valid. The bike is designed in way. All the things you very well knew before buying the bike, so why are you cribbing now?

And BTW just for your information, the Centre Stand, is not there in sport bike to allow more freedom while cornering. In P220, the centre stand scrapes the tarmac if you lean too much.

And regarding the spares, did you mailed to Bajaj Customer Care?

Agree with Sajal. Guys lets not fight. We are here to help each other by knowing the issues and Great things in a particular bike. If we dont like somebody's comment, which we think is not right lets ask them or try to make them understand. Again as 'Sajal' said give some time to P200NS.

I havent seen such a reply in the x years of xBhp from any of the other moderators

But was shocked to see when my brother bought the bike (as I was unavailable to take the delivery) that such a Big & Old manufacturer has not provided very basic accessories & little aspects lacking in the bike.

It is a shame to see that huge cost cuttings have done by Bajaj Auto in its flagship bike costing 95k ORP Delhi all over.

I want that my bike, bikes sold till now, which are in transit & in assembly line to be equipped with these basics.

                    1. No Central Stand Provided in the bike. The Company cannot escape by saying that it is available as an extra accessory at a dealership. Pay extra Rs 500 or 600 & buy if you want.

                    2. Single horn provided instead of double horns in all bikes in its lineup & by all bike makers with bikes above 80 k.

                    3. Handle lock only on left & Not on Right Side. Such basic things missing.

                    4. Tyres Provided by bajaj of M/s Eurogrip lack Road Grip & vastly unstable. The Overdrive Show also recommends upgrading the current tyres as while cornering the tyres lack straight line & cornernering grip. The chassis is good but Tyres are lacking.

5 lack of spare parts. The Company should make the parts available just before the Model launch. Now, one has to wait for months to get these parts.

                    6. Small fuel tank of 12 liters fixed on chassis & Plastic over the Top. The Tank should at least 16-17 liters.

Will request your goodself to Publish this as Article , so that other customers are not fooled by the looks & the brand value of this bike. But even after paying almost a lakh of rupees , you get these basics missing.

                    1. Many bikes do not have this as an OEM feature. Making it a mandate adds the costs for everyone whether or not they need it. Wouldnt it help if the ones needing it, buy it seperately.

                    2. Same as above. Need another one, buy another one!
Infact Honking is considered as a ill practise in many countries. This also helps in reducing the load on the battery. A bigger issue IMO is the headlight being cut off when idle and there not being any way to over ride it! Imagine stopping somewhere in night to pee and not having the headlight! Scary!

                    3. This exists in a lot of bikes! Even Avengers had it.

                    4. 6700KMs of riding the bike in terrains ranging from smooth tarmac to the sands of Leh to the stones of spiti. I am a believer of these tyres. They arent as well in transition may be, but they are mighty good once you run them in. Wait for the powertotherider.com review and you might see some pretty aggressive riding on the stock eurogrips in wet conditions!

                    5. Same as 4. I could ride from Amritsar to Leh to Mumbai and this was hardly a trouble.. Bigger tank, more idle weight, and more weight lower the mileage? want that?

Agree with Sajal. Guys lets not fight. We are here to help each other by knowing the issues and Great things in a particular bike. If we dont like somebody's comment, which we think is not right lets ask them or try to make them understand. Again as 'Sajal' said give some time to P200NS.

                        Peace
I don't think centre stand should have been incorporated by default.
However, if they have avoided the centre stand as it is a sports bike intended to corner well, then why don't they put correspondingly supporting better tyres? Anyone?

Also, the issue of not having a lock towards the Right Side is absurd. Why don't they put it in a 'sports' bike? I don't know.

                        • My loot reached the showroom today. Went to have a look at it. had 12 km on odo. Checked for any defects, rust, and the working of the electricals. Everything looked ok. On the left side of the gear box, the black plug like thing (no idea what it is called) was glued on the sides. I could feel the gum when i touched it (the same which is used to stick glass I guess). Can someone tell me what it is and why is it glued. chasis was looking good, and the lower portion of the bike had some dirt on it. Forgot to check the oil and coolant level. And also did not ride it. looked for scratches on body panel, noted down the VIN, and strictly asked the showroom guy to never allow anyone to ride it. I'm planning to bring it this week, and another issue is that I am not a resident of Bhopal, and am here to pursue my studies. So what all will be the documents i will have to provide? (sorry for the ot)
Riding is not about destinations, it's about journeys.

when are you getting the bike??

about your accident, I am very sorry.. hope you have recovered well..!!

I am still wondering cribbing about the 12 litres capacity.. How many touring bikes have capacity above 14 litres (bullet Thunderbird 350 has 13.5 litres).. duke has only 10 litres.. now what??.. I remember @MG dada doing a long term review.. he wouldn`t have done it without fuel.. and more the fuel.. more the weight of the bike.. less mileage.. lesser performing the engine.. then we will call it a design debacle.. and a BAJAJ bike.. I filled upto 8 litres.. I feel a bike a little heavier than it was.. so why add unnecessary weight??..

Get a center stand bro.. it ain`t that hard!

I agree with you on the horn.. but, would you prefer a double horn bike which runs battery down and fails to start the engine.. besides, no one likes noisy bikes.. I don`t!!

Tyres ain`t that bad.. I tried cornering with knee down.. I am running into first service.. and it is seriously good.. for city-ish and highway ride (good in omr, ecr and bypass road).. besides, soft compounds run out of grip faster than hard compound.. life of the tyre.. I meant.. with the same tyres.. the bike managed to 100 - 0 in 11.67 secs on wet surface better than R15 and P220F in dry conditions.. check August Overdrive if you don`t believe me!

Since you told me that you wanted a dealer in south delhi I mentioned Deewan Bajaj Lajpat nagar and Okhla, sorry for the confusion.
Do you have any idea if the rain cover being sold by the dealer is of good quality? or should i buy it from an outside vendor? The dealer has quoted me Rs.500 for the rain cover and Rs.550 for the center stand.

Thanks Rahul and Satyen. I found it and have adjusted a little bit to my satisfaction. Start seems more smoother and acceleration on standstill sounds better...now the question of mileage will ...sought after later...

Regarding the tappet noise, the svc person told me it is tightened , but since I still can notice the sound...should I be worried? I tried looking into the posts to find any solution for sensor and tappet. For sensor the only action was replacement. Which haven't worked for me. For tappet can anything be done? I may be considered fuzzy, but a smooth running sound of the engine is always music to ears. Thanks in advance ...
