Just to tell you my experience, ad some 2 liters of petrol in the tank so in the night of day before yesterday i filled 100rs ka petrol from the petrol pump in front of Agriculture College gate on university road (Pune). The petrol was of such a bad quality that my NS started sounding like it was ripped on day one. There was simply too much knocking, less power and stressed engine with pathetic firing. I somehow finished most of the fuel and today evening filled some 6liters of Shell Super petrol. The engine become smooth right from the moment i left the pump..Phew... I have seen effect of bad fuel before as well on my Passion. But this was really extreme and gave me a real scare. But now its all OK. Hopefully the engine isn't screwed up too bad..

Only Shell from now on. The petrol you get in Pune is really pathetic quality (adulterated) and many pump attendants are cheats. Do we have any thread like "Trusted petrol pumps" on xBHP??

dead spots while coming to reserve is normal but it has to be considered as an issue when you have enough fuel ..
i will list out the things to check for your issues .. follow them in the same order ..
-- check for dead spots while acceleration in all gears ( not only 6th )..
-- check throttle cable
-- check air filter for any blockages
-- check the fuel pipe .
-- check engine oil level
-- if you are getting dead spots only when the engine is hot then check coolant level and look for leaks ..
-- carb might need proper tuning .. take it to the best svc and ask them to tune the AFR screw .. engine will obviously feel rough if the engine is running on very lean or very rich mixture ... i am pretty sure this tuning will solve your problem

Hi Guys,

Right from the time I got the bike I felt a 1 second lag in the engine response when you accelerate fast from Engine Idle. The engine flutters for a sec and then power kicks in.

Has anyone experienced this problem?

I had problem with the low beam headlight some times it used to work & some times it doesn't, when I gave for 1st service I told them to fix it, the cable was in loose contact, it works fine now after that my headlamps starts vibrating though the head light screws was tight also.
Yesterday I took my Allen key set removed the head lamp set & tightened again now there is no vibrating at all.
Then again I check with all the Allen bolts in my bike most of them are not fully tightened, Front mudguard, side panels, left hand side foot rest.

Guys suggest you to check with all the bolts once because these loosen bolts creates vibrations.

After a long long wait and reading these 480 pages of thread and Reading all the reviews,experiences etc and looking at the beautiful pics daily i can now Proudly say i am the OWNER OF THIS BLUE BEAUTY finally...

Just got it home yesterday evening and Man i am really getting all the attention on the Road...People standing besides me commenting " Abe yaar ye to nayi wali pulsar hai...iska silencer hi nahi hai...sahi bike hai yaar etc etc " "

Just one hour ago reached the office and security people stopped me and started enquiring about the bike..LOL

Just 30 Kms on the ODO till now and i am realy happy with the Drive..its so smooth..but its so difficult to control the speed..as everyone said before It realy begs you to drive fast...after every second checking the RPM meter and speed indicator..hehehe

Finally joined NS group

went to MGB Hyderabad at 2:30, sales rep sent me to gowdown to choose the bike. there were 8-10 NS's. selected one Black among them. came back to showroom, paid full payment. by 6:30 I am out with my Black NS

P200NS owners, i need your help on clarifying certain points. I am buying NS in some days.

1) I have heard some complaints about the vibrations and I could not ignore that, I want to know if anyone faced it and if so, at what speeds?

Vibrations are seen only when you are in top gear and low speed

2) I want to know the OTR price in Bangalore?
I visited the RV Bajaj showroom and the dealer says its 1,01,000 On Road.Is this reasonable?

Before august 1st it was ~1,00,500 on road after august 1st due to the increase in vat it went up till ~1,01,000


3) The pillion seat was one more concern for me, since I am plaaning to keep the bike for atleast 5 years and I will be getting married within 2 years and my wife should be able to be seated comfortably. I tried sitting in my friend's NS pillion seat and found that it is vvery high and although I was able to climb up, my wife would be able to?? and also will the pillion get the back pain and feel like to fall from the bike???

Planning to install the broad Footrest with sareegaurd as said in this thread earlier

4) Can I expect the same mileage if I change the tyres to MRF Zappers? Or will the mileage decrease? And the skid decreases right? I rode my friends's NS and it skids a lot!!(Any owners have changed them)??

Havent tried and it may not affect the mileage i suppose!!!!


5) I will be travelling 55km daily, so is the bike comfortable for that?(Anyone facing Back pain)

I drive 40Kms everyday from banshakari to marathalli(guess you know the traffic) still im comfortable with the ride


6) If you are a P200NS owners, what is the current mileage and the ODO reading?

as mentioned earlier about the route, even when i go in that route i am getting a mileage of 43 , im happy with that figure..

7) Any other cons I should be aware of?

I forgot to mention the mileage in my previous post.

Before service i got 38.6 and after service 41.5
and as my bike was idling previously at 2.5k after a 10 minutes run(got it corrected now) , so I guess the mileage figure will be even better now..

wow, good to know the actual capabilities of NS..
Right from it's unveiling , I kenw that the bike can give best of both worlds.(but not together)
anyways while visual inspection at the showroom, we couldn't find the carb. is the tuning screw easily locatable?? can u post a Pic of it??
Sorry for asking a Pic for everything u do.. BTW, when is the change of instrument console light DIY coming up??

Congrats Rahul...i ahve got the blue one for me as well..it does gives a Royal Feel to the bike..

ya ya this one... That royal feeling... its blue in daytime ane can easily escape cops at night coz it will feel like black haha
@speedshift: you sure about the 3.5 inch part na? Then i am done with revz s...no 2nd thoughts... Got these quotings... Revz s- 3200, fx- 1890... I think both are on higher side...any idea...? And no tyre showrooms are willing to exchange eurogrips.. What price could i expect for the old ones?

Rs.3200 for Revz S is too much. I was quoted Rs. 2400 here in Delhi but that price was not offered anywhere else. Zapper FX was quoted at Rs.1600. To get an idea for the old tyres mine were about 2000kms old and I got Rs. 2400 for them

Just now got a call from my dealer that blue is out of stock and there is no blue even in upcoming stocks... Daamn p*ssed i am now... Now saying delivery will take around 20 days minimum...

has anybody else tried lowering the position of gear lever and rear brake lever? I tried doing it to make the seating position sporty but could not as there was not enough play remaining and was touching other parts, and hence was not able to engage first gear.... can somebody try and confirm?
