It's fine re... you should always use the best stuff for your ride.

And rains will pass in a month or so.

Few guys have confirmed that it is there in their NS as well. OS seems to be a normal charecteristic of the engine. However, I myself will go and check it from the stock bikes of the dealer showroom.

Any one with proper guide regarding RPM idling so that every one can understand it completely
I'm sure that all of the issues regarding the idling, cold starts, RPM increase is because of leaner AFR. In carb bike, there aren't many parameters which can go wrong. My bike, take's off smoothly without any jerks. Accelerates cleanly, no flat spots either!

Anyway, on my bike I have extended the Carbon Fiber treatment to the Radiator shrouds:

its has surprised me that you have shifted from karizma r to 200ns
        give me a power comparison
which has better pick up (purely for knowledge)
the only thing i dislike in pulsar 200ns is that they could have managed a better rear design
other than that i like the bike and i am proud that the home brand has done a great job
        200 NS

        Max Power23.52 PS @ 9500
        Karizma

        Max Power(17.6 bhp) @ 7000rpm

In short 200 NS will smoke the Karizma in a race .Few fellow Xbhpians have alredy tried it also I guess ,havent got a chance myself yet as i am still in RUNIN

And can you please throw some more light on this 'AFR'. I don't know much technical terms in biking so please try to keep it as simple as possible.

Ya friend, I too feel that my NS is still running on the leaner side. Last time I adjusted the AFR to a very Tiny bit. Will again do some more adjustments, on the richer side.
But it's the Rain which is keeping me OFF from my DESTINY. Couldn't take it for a spin in last 3 days. It has been 1 week of my ownership and the ODO stands on a stagnant 43kms

Again super work. In fact the Radiator thing looks sexier. But Truth be told, you stole my Idea. the day i saw the CF treatment on ur Bunblebee, I decided to do it on the Radiator shrouds, as it wont look good on other places coz of the red tank. Also i saw something similar in the duke ownership thread

BTW, Do you apply your bike polish on the perimeter frame?? Coz it looks so Black.. I applied waxpol, on the frame, but the colour looks same. It just became all the more slippery..

AFR - Air Fuel Ratio. The ratio of Air:Fuel can be adjusted through a screw (bronze colour) present in the carburetor.

                          • Hello XBHPians!

Been following this thread rather religiously since a month and can safely say that this thread is one of the factors that tilted me towards getting myself a Pulsar 200 NS.

I am sure that amidst innumerable reviews and ownership experiences, this write-up of mine is of little significance. But nevertheless as a tribute to this rather motivating thread started by Chintan, this review!
Previous Bikes owned: Kinetic Honda, Kawasaki Bajaj Caliber (1st lot), Pulsar 150 Dtsi

Background: Wanted to buy a bike within the price range of 1lakh with decent power, performance, looks and reliability.
The Dilemma: Well, I have to admit that I do have some kind of affection towards Bajaj and my favorite pastime is singing 'Hamara Bajaj' . I almost decided on going for an Avenger 220, Black with windshield and that’s when I came across Pulsar 200 NS on XBHP. It fitted my requirements perfectly, so decided to go for a test drive. BINGO! I had a toy which can be handled in Mumbai traffic quite easily compared to Avenger (No offence to Avenger, but I feel it is easier to handle small gaps between cars with an NS compared to an Avenger). Further, even though I want to have long trip frequently, my job profile does not permit to do so. Hence, bid a final goodbye to the idea of buying an Avenger with a heavy heart and started weighing pros and cons of Pulsar 200 NS. And pros clearly outnumbered the cons.

The Buy: Went to Sai Service, Andheri and got a quotation which read 99,200 for everything with promised delivery in 10 days. To my surprise a sub-dealer opened a shop in my apartment complex. Since it is a new establishment, he offered a tempting deal. Pay 95,000 and take delivery on the spot. Now the ultimate dilemma regarding colour cropped up. Mind went on an overdrive with thought like, ‘Yellow looks kickass, but is it cool to go to office on it?’, ‘Black is the best, but negates 2 colour pattern of NS’, ‘My Pulsar 150 was blue, will I get bored if I go for a blue again’ etc. Finally went for a Red one and I do not regret my choice. Paid and got delivery of my NS on 28th August.

Experience: Been more than a week and odometer says 300 kms. Here is my experience in a nutshell till date -

+On road presence – Be it because of the exclusivity, considering the fact that it was launched recently or its stylish and different look, this one attracts lot of attention.

+Power and pickup - Never lost a single signal drag race, from the time I got my NS, even though I have never gone beyond 60 km considering the run-in period (barring one instance on Western Express when I was so tempted by the response and touched 80). Too early for me to comment on top-end since the bike is in run-in period.

+Quality - Till now I felt that all the parts are of good quality compared to senior Ps. Except for the indicator button.

+ Maneuverability – Mumbai rains, jam-packed roads, knee deep water. And my baby took on the challenge with open arms and covered 6 kms within 30mins with largely safe driving. The key was the ease with which you can fit in the bike in small gaps and give a small jolt with its immense pickup to go forward to a better side of road, which has more chances of moving forward. The same cannot be said about taking U-turns though (read further).

+Underbelly Exhaust – As specified earlier, it was raining heavily here in Mumbai. And the area where I live, Andheri infamous for water logging threw some Level 4 challenge to my new bike. Impressed with the video released by Bajaj which shows the bike handling knee deep water quite efficiently and left with no choice, I ventured to go ahead into an area which was heavily water logged. And surprise-surprise, the video of Bajaj’s was no propaganda. It’s for real. Pulsar 200 NS can and will survive knee deep water.

-Turning radius is just too hard to handle at U-turns. You need to take your own sweet time and wait for more space to get freed to take a U-turn.

                            - Tyre hugger looks ugly and is not even very efficient is doing what it is supposed to. Planning to get it removed after monsoons.
                            - This beast deserves a better horn.

                            - Tyres do get a bit slippery on wet roads. Manageable, but nevertheless a problem.

If you are having second thoughts whether to go for it or not, trust and go for it, you will not regret.

Will go for the first service once the bike touches 500 mark. Any suggestions from experienced owners are totally welcome.
