Case I : While riding against the wind :
The speedo should indicate a top speed of about 145-150 kph under normal conditions. So if the winds decreased it to 106 kph while riding against it , let us assume that the speed of the wind was 150-106=44kph.

Case II: While riding in the direction of the wind :
Now , as we have assumed the speed of the wind to be 44kph, then in this case the speedo should indicate 150+44 kph !!! or atleast more than 150 kph under totally opened throttle (assuming that you did this*)...
    Bad Physics..

You must have seen people suddenly increasing the bike's speed in traffic to overtake. They do it by shifting one gear(what I Do) down which gives them more rpm resulting in higher acceleration for few seconds. My personal experience:
My frn was riding my FZ on NH & I was sitting as pillion. He wasn't able to make the bike get past 99 KM/H. When we changed places i Took the very same bike to 109 KM/H . The reason being is that he shifted the gear at very low rpms in high speed.

I hope you understand my point. I may have gone totally off topic but who likes to delete after writing so much
+1 to this. That's right..riding style is important. At such high speeds aerodynamics becomes the dominating factor..(Thats why any vehicle give less efficiency at higher speed..air drag is the culprit..) So for achieving highest possible speed you need to change your seating to "sporty posture". Also the way you shift gears and give throttle makes difference. You got to use the power effectively which varies with rpm.

WORK AROUND for side effect: While cold starting give it very little acceleration to keep the engine from stalling. Give enough acceleration to keep the Accelerated RPM at 1.5K. All you are doing here is substituting the reduced idle rpm with manual accelerator RPM. Once the warm up is complete go ride off!!!
You can have a setting where there are no "side effects". For example my NS had stock AFR setting such that it used to idle @ 1300 rpm when cold and @1800 rpm when hot. It never stalled, neither reved too much at hot idling. Its just the matter of fine tuning AFR. IMO 1500rpm @ hot condition is little less. Try setting to 1700-1800 when hot.

    i have one more query,i am 5 7
will the bike be comfortable for me?
is there any vibes at high rpms?
I am 5'7" and have absolutely no issue while handling NS. If I remember correctly, a couple of 5'5" and even a 5'4" guy said they are comfortable with NS. So it should be no issues for you. NS is quite balanced, even at very low speeds.
Two roads diverged in a wood, and I--
I took the one less traveled by,
And that has made all the difference...

              • Hey all xbhpians out there. I got my 200ns red two days back and it is really a VFM super cool bike!
I am totally in love with the bike. I had a few probs which has already mentioned in the thread many time like- RPM raising while idling (which I fixed by adjusting the idling screw! )
The machine feels like some loss of power (something like fuel-gonna-run-out feel) at 2K-3K rpm when throttling up. It's just for a sec or two and regains back to its' true face.
The handling is good and had lot of rides in the rain. Tyres are okay, however bajaj could have provided better ones. Covered 160 Kms in 2 days.
I don't think there is a need of detailed review from my end since there are loads of xbhpians writting on it.

                      blue looks best on 200ns
but majority of the 200ns owners have got yellow
congrats to all the owners of pulsar 200ns

@ankur2smart: Thanks dude. When my ride's RPM is at about 2k-3K and I apply throttle, the bike holds in power for a sec/two; like the kind of feel you get when you are gonna run out of fuel. I am not sure whether this is beacause of the fuel quality or is it common to other NS? Other NS owners needs to pop in to give a prompt reasaon
Do not worry bro, you are definitely going to make a valuable buy

                          see this - http://www.xbhp.com/talkies/motorcyc...tml#post867572

Few guys have confirmed that it is there in their NS as well. OS seems to be a normal charecteristic of the engine. However, I myself will go and check it from the stock bikes of the dealer showroom.

                          • i am riding the bike for a week. Its was really getting hard be in limit in all gears, but today i found how to enjoy while riding in 45kmph. Now, i take a long route to college with enough corners and not crowded. i enjoy cornering at slow speed, am nomore dieing to go fast, and no more waiting to complete 2000km. By cornering i don't mean knee touching road one!!

Try leaning little more than usual in corners, u'll feel great. And it might help you to control the urge to go fast.

Btw my ns used to idle at 2.5k when hot and 1.6k when cold. Now i decreased idling to 1.3k, so its idling in 2k when hot. No more problem of high rev during idling!!!

                            Enjoy riding guys!

And I also feel that the RVMs are plain mirrors!!

no offence to pulsar 200ns owners
its has surprised me that you have shifted from karizma r to 200ns
                              give me a power comparison
which has better pick up (purely for knowledge)
the only thing i dislike in pulsar 200ns is that they could have managed a better rear design
other than that i like the bike and i am proud that the home brand has done a great job

Other riders are also facing same problem but not everyone. Actually every one is complaining with RPM which in turn goes to idling. Guys don't you think ??

Any one with proper guide regarding RPM idling so that every one can understand it completely
