Highlighted in your post is the main culprit. There is something seriously wrong with the new Pulsar setup. Umm, pardon me for going a bit off-topic, but having FI eliminates this headache.
Also, I believe the engine needs to settle down to achieve its 'Happy' state and to have an idling that doesn't make it roar/cry after some riding and neither should it cry/cough during the first start up.
It took me around 2-3 weeks time to find a perfect idling spot in my P150 for which it neither cries, nor coughs and dies. Also, it seems like almost all the Factory Setting points to a lean mixture and only a DYI or help from SVC is doing the trick. Can somebody confirm?
By side effect I meant what could happen at low Idle RPM setting. And yes there is definitely something wrong with it!

You can have a setting where there are no "side effects". For example my NS had stock AFR setting such that it used to idle @ 1300 rpm when cold and @1800 rpm when hot. It never stalled, neither reved too much at hot idling. Its just the matter of fine tuning AFR. IMO 1500rpm @ hot condition is little less. Try setting to 1700-1800 when hot.
1.8k is a little too much as per the specification in the manual. But then every bike has its own behavior! I'd say, set it as per your requirement!

I am not sure whether this is beacause of the fuel quality or is it common to other NS? Other NS owners needs to pop in to give a prompt reasaon
Do not worry bro, you are definitely going to make a valuable buy
I have this problem too. There is a lag in the engine response. The main problem here is that you feel like your bike is about to stall when you try to escape a corner by accelerating hard. IMO, this is a confidence killer.

its has surprised me that you have shifted from karizma r to 200ns
    give me a power comparison
which has better pick up (purely for knowledge)
the only thing i dislike in pulsar 200ns is that they could have managed a better rear design
other than that i like the bike and i am proud that the home brand has done a great job
Even I did the same. I have a Karizma and a Pulsar 200NS now. It was a windy day, on a drag race between both my bikes. my Karizma took initial lead. But then I was able to overtake it and go off with my P200NS. I kept the lead till 120km/hr and then the Karizma just went off as its got a fairing and so aerodynamic. The top speed of my pulsar touched was 125 and the Karizma 138. And yes My Karizma has a K&N air filter tuned for max performance.

Any one with proper guide regarding RPM idling so that every one can understand it completely
I have written one a couple of posts back. As of now that is the only solution for random increase in Idling. As per the delay in the throttle response even I am speechless. To get over this, I tried reducing the accelerator free play. It is very minimal now but still there.

Is that the screw that is used for RPM idling or there are two screws ??

It would help if you could just post a pic of it

I am hoping that the lag in engine response will be gone when I upgrade to the K&N air filters and Bosch Iridium Spark Plugs. The warranty will be gone for sure. But still it is not worth ridding your bike like a granpa.

Still doing research on the same. Guys if anybody found the best K&N filter please let me know.

I have just sent a mail to Bajaj regarding the same thing. Kindly wait for few days, I will try to contact the showroom guy from where i booked my Pulsar NS.
Do let us know your research result regarding filters

                  • Hello everyone!

New member here.. picked up a Pulsar 200 NS - yellow yesterday from Popular Bajaj in BSK III Stage, Bangalore.

The delivery was done in a week from booking.
Absolutely love the bike & thank you all for all your discussions
though i just joined this forum, been reading through, i guess, the last 200-300 pages and it's been great!

Well, the bike is beautiful, the first thing that comes to mind is that Bajaj has really improved hugely on all fronts.
I did have a Pulsar 150 DTSI, say around 4 yrs back & the 200 is a giant jump from there.

Now to the bike, i got it last evening at 6pm, did not have too much time to check the bike out before taking delivery & i was optimistic (hopeful actually) that there would be no issues.
                    i was wrong
                    Small issues, nothing major -
the handle lock wasn't working. could push the key in but it wouldn't go all the way to get locked.
On the switch panels, blue light was working only on the right hand side, no light on the left.
They didn't have stock of center stands.
Had asked for IND number plates, they said they'll give it today.
and so i went over today, got the lock & console lights fixed, changed to the IND plates, came home & realized they had interchanged the numbers on the registration
the front was right, back was wrong.
Went back to them got the hand painted one back & asked for a replacement again...
                    Hamara Bajaj

one other thing i noticed, is the coolant level in the indicator is almost close to minimum mark.
secondly, after riding the bike for a few kms the idling goes up.. at times to 2000-2500 rpm..

so that's about my experience with bajaj for the first 2 days

                          • Fitted white LED pilot lamps..

Seems like Motul is not available in Ernakulam. I asked many shops
Can anyone recommend me some good semi synthetic oils superior to dtsi? hows mobil oils? I have some doubts regarding oils. Can we use 15W50 grade oil in place of 20W50 ? Is there any issues like leakage or anything in NS if fully synthetic oil is used?

looks quite bright man.. did you try out other colors? can you share the costs?

guess motul doesn't have a dealer in kerala... i could find 300V oils in shops.. but no one ever heard about 3100 gold.

any xxw50 oils can be used as per the info i derived from the engine oil section on xbhp and others. heard from others that yamahalube is also a decent performer.

Ask any Yamaha spares. They might have it. You can use 15w50. No problem.
But, only sue synthetic post 5k kms.
                                And nice white LED's..

Edit: You can get Yamalube 15w50 SS oil which is manufactued by motul from Yamaha itself. The oil is great indeed and my friend is using it in his 200NS.
