take it to auto service svc .

start it up with choke during morning cold starts and warm up the engine by idling it for 2mins before you set off ..

white backlight will also look good and unique .. contrast will be ultimate .. try it out ..
Dude, did you mention me :P
I had the same problems as you guys are facing. Just take it to near by SVC and ask them to adjust the AFR. It should be alright.

it is attracting people......I am being a advertising centre on the road.....clutch lever is very far....giving me pain on my palm...... mileage less than 35 now.......keeping the bike under 60kmh is a very boring job.....once i didnot follow to the rpm meter n got to 70kmh....i m used to gear pedals a bit down....this is very straight upwards causing pain in my feet....giving a gear is like a goal to me......false neutral is being also caused for this.....otherwise smooth n quick my bike....brakes good.....rear tyre bad very bad for emergency breaking....n for looks its 10/10 for me.....

Damn refined bike , no vibes at all...people were staring like anything...in fact @ traffic signals , people were soothing their eyes on my bike rather than to look @ the signals...even the cops & traffic police were smiling after having a look at the bike...even the Pujari @ the temple was very excited to see the bike & did all the rituals...
Also, I must say that the bike accelerates very very gracefully...rode it from Het Auto to my place for about 10-12 kms...very difficult to not to let the adrenaline take over my senses & to keep the wrist under control...
Did not hear any weird noises at all...one issue which I discovered after filling the fuel is that I was not able to change the fuel knob from reserve to ON , it was as if its stuck...will mitigate this on first service & will also remove the saree guard...
All in all very happy with the bike !!
                            congrats bro.. happy riding!

This is my very first post on xbhp though following it since last year and this particular thread right from the very beginning. Trying not to make any typos & really sorry for a really long post.

So here goes the whole description. It all started last month when a need to buy a bike(my very first bike) was scratching my mind continuously(thanks to awesome Pune Public transport where buses only stop if the driver is in mood ). So, the hunt began. Requirements that I had -
                            • Should be definitely 150 cc or above
                            • Nice looks
                            • price range 80 +- 5k, as I was looking for something to use for just 1-2 years & would upgrade when I settle down.
                            • preferably a FE of 40 - 45 kmpl or above but not less as I will be riding for work for approx 30 kms daily and some weekend fun.
                            • should be comforable (both rider & pillion)
                            • should be fun to ride

After a hell lot of thoughts and supposed to be discussions with -
friends - "Abe Ninja utha" me- " chal saale baraat me aaya hai" Friends- "ohk lets list down bikes acc. to requirements"
family(MuM) - "Beta buy whichever bike you like but YOU WILL NOT DRIVE ABOVE 50 , its a new place & you are all alone over there" (DaD)- "Chlo mummy haan bol di hai to khareed le jo chahiye & if you need something from me let me know" \m/
gf- "I like that bike something named AAR... ", me - "baby R15? " gf - "Yaa that 1" me - "its a bit costly & i don't want to give up so much of my savings as of now" gf - "ohk I am good with whatever you decide"
finally bikes were listed to choose from -
                            • Pulsar 180
                            • Apache RTR 160
                            • Yamaha Fazer
                            • Avenger 220
                            • Hero impulse

RTR 160 - Awesome handling & stuff, jst don't like the brand apache(just a personal opinion no hard feelings)
Impulse - liked alot till i decided to buy a bike, but went out of question coz I needed a bike for daily use too not just a weekender. Low FE. (have been following that thread too right from beginning)
Fazer - Like the broad tyres and creamy Yamaha Engine & transmission. Specially white coloured Fazer took my heart. Took a test ride of fazer and drove a friend's FZ for about 40 kms. Result - 84k was too much to be asked for a 150cc that too just for looks. Felt power was a bit low, though a very creamy smooth ride but still, even RTR 160 seemed more powerful. Low FE & worst speedo console for that big amount.
Avenger 220 - All my friends like Avenger a lot "will suit my built(5' 11", 83kgs)", they say . Even my gf likes the all chrome finish and the cruiser look. Took a test ride, liked the all cruiser feel but was hard to manevour, low FE. Just don't wanted to take a cruiser to work(personal opinion again)
P180 - Was always a Pulsar maniac, Low @ quality as others say but a total VFM for me. Fulfilled all the requirements of looks, FE, price, comfort & fun. Though it requires proper care from time to time which is not a problem for me as I am already working in an automobile sector & have some basic know-how of taking care of my machine.
                            Booking Phase 1 -
After thinking for 2 long weeks and sacrificing my love for Fazer(just because of puny 13 PS of power for a good 84k) I finally landed on P180 which fullfilled all my requirements. Friday, Aug - 9th @ Gem's Bajaj - Straight way booking for a P180 blue-black(mom & gf's colour choice, luckily both of them had same liking & was my choice too). 3000/- advance paid. Out of showroom in 20 mins. Only good thing which happened was, bike was not available that day and was supposed to come in the next lot i.e. by Monday or Tuesday
(Back home) me - Finally, I will be buying my very first bike with my own hard earned money . (Past 4 hours) me - "Pulsar 220F would have been a better choice just 10k more and I will get a much more powerful bike with awesome looks(IMO)." Budget issue was slowly taking back seat and I was regretting my booking now. 2 more days & I used to stare @ all the pulsars passing by and was trying to make up my mind .
(Saturday Night) Me- "mum, though i have booked my bike but i don't think i really like it, there is pulsar 220 which I like more but it's 10k costlier ." Mum - "See, when you are goin for your first bike why do you keep ticking all your requirements, buy what you like na you should be happy with what you ride . moreover you cant get your bike upgraded to 220 just for 10k once you buy 180. So think about it & then purchase" me - (mann me laddu foota )" Done, 220 it is \m/, will change my booking tomorrow"
                            Booking Phase II -
(Sunday) Comparing P220 & P200NS since 5 in the morning, reading all the reviews in a hurry, obviously NS was way better but was pretty afraid of buying the first version as some issues might come along & bajaj will upgrade it in its next version & I will be stuck with the issues. 3 PM @ Gem's Bajaj - 220F & NS standing side by side. Man!! NS is huge. NS it is! 94k seemed steal for the bike\m/
After a good long wait of 24 hrs when I was sitting in a conference with Narain Karthikeyan I got a call from showroom that my beast has arrived & they are getting it ready \m/. Shit man! I was so happy sitting in that conference but now I was restless. Conference was over by 5:15 & I left office by 6 30. Went straightly to buy myself a helmet.

Bought Vega off-roader for a good 1790 bucks. Seemed worth , so took it without wasting much time.
7:15PM @ Gem's Bajaj - They were shutting down the showroom!! How in that case will I be checking my bike!! No, not taking the delivery on Monday. I was not ready to take my machine without testing it all by myself.

Tuesday \m/- Took half day & left office @ 1:00 PM. Straight to Gem's. Thoroughly checked my bike & to my surprise everything was already taken care of. Strange service from bajaj! But soon all happiness went by as soon as I noticed a dent on right grab handle & to my surprise I never saw that there was no one entertaining me right from the beginning, it was all me who was checking everything. Now, that was something expected . Got it changed after much discussions with the sales guy . Some Pics now, it has been too long since i started writing this post.
                            friend checking out my bike

bike ready to move out of service centre \m/.
1 more NS in parking beside my nayi naveli dulhan.

just a day & half with my NS & the odo shows 147.5 kms(took delivery @ 0.2kms). Babying my bike though, not taking it past 4k rpm. Seems bike will be up for 1st servicing by the time I get the registration done.
congrats bro.. happy and safe miles.. welcome to P200NS family..!!

14th August gave me the opportunity to see the NS (my would be) for the first time. Yesterday went with @ Toxicbiker to check out how Good Hearted my Would be is, apart from her sexy looks. Simply put, took a Test Drive!!
                            Here is My First impression:-

Pre-Script - Most of the points might have already been discussed millions of time in the NS threads.. So please bear

                            LOOKS -
                            1) The bike looked much much bigger than what the Photos portray. IMO, the size gives you a feel of a Quarter liter bike.
                            2) Completely different from the monotonous look of the old-gen pulsars.
                            3) Headlight, and the Broad Perimeter frame surely is the USP of the bike's look.
                            4) When I sat on the Bike, the Hand's position kind of felt commuter-ish, because of the raised up handle-bars. However, the foot-pegs are placed in quite an Aggressive position.
                            5) The tank gives a feeling of Big-Brother of Hunk, while sitting. Otherwise(i.e. while standing) the tank looks superb, and gives the NS it's big bike character.
                            6) The instrument cluster looked very posh
                            7) Am 5'10", and had no problems with the foot placing.
                            8) The seats are soft, and the front seat is huge. Can easily accommodate any Fat As*
                            9) The rear part did gave a Hint of 135LS, but unlike many, I liked the tyre Hugger, and it certainly helped in making the rear look beefy.
                            10) There are lots of Sticker jobs. Can prove to be both advantage, and disadvantage.
                            11) There is a huge gap between the rear side panel and the seat. That kind of gap must be Intentional, and only @Rahuldevnath, and @MG has found out it's correct purpose.
                            12) The switch-gears seems to be a downgrade from the previous gen. The fuel knob, though seemed funky, but is of bad-quality.

                            RIDE -
                            1) The engine Sound wasn't Highly addictive or anything, but it certainly depicted the smoothness of the engine.
                            2) The RPM needle is very responsive with the throttle movement.
                            3) The riding stance is Comfortable, and not Sporty.
                            4) While riding, the feel and the view of the handle and the RVMs gives you a dirt bike/street bike kind of feel.
                            5) The gear shifting was very Smooth. ( a Big Improvement by Bajaj)
                            6) The Engine has great pull. I found it to be as good as P220 (if not better). 220 has a rawness in its engine, so one can feel the pull, But the NS engine being smooth, one hardly gets an idea of it.
                            7) Me being a safe rider, found the handling adequate enough. But my friend differed on this issue, and that had more to do with the rear tyre slipping (on dry road) during his test ride. Tyres certainly seems to be a let-down on this Flag-ship model. If a bike is modeled for good handling, then why ruin that feature with Bad tyres?? As speculated earlier, Bajaj must have given an option of better tyres for the spirited riders.
                            8) Both the Brakes were good, and did not make any screeching sound.
                            9) The bike seems to be weighty, but the weight was not felt while riding. I made some dodges with the pillion at low speeds, and never the bike felt heavy.
                            10) Vibrations - it was there I felt a tingling sensation between my thighs, while my friend also felt it on the footpegs. [mind you all - me coming from a P150 UG2, didnt feel it much, while my friend coming from a Fazer, prominently felt it]. However no vibrations were there on the handle-bars.
                            11) I missed out on checking the low-end torque (one of my vital requirement), but my friend assured me that the bike scores well in that field as well.
                            12) Even if your GF/Pillion is short height-ed, she/he will get a nice view of the road while sitting on the pillion, because of the seat height. However, the pillion seat is adequate and comfortable also.

After healthy 10 min discussion with @toxicbiker, we both agreed that BIKE IS ABSOLUTELY WORTH THE INVESTMENT. So without any further delay, the booking was done. The dealer was friendly enough and responded well with all our demands to the extent he could.

Lastly, a huge thanks to @toxicbiker, for showing keen interest in the NS, and accompanying me with his ultra-smooth Fazer both times.
