This thread had also started wasting it's pages on High speed comparisons, racing with other vehicles on the road, etc., I request members not to do the same, and share useful information and help each other...When Was The Last Time,You Did Something For The First Time.

Totally agree...every one was so happy with their NS. Now you see people talking about cars, ninza, swift & what n all non sense. About helping each otherOriginally posted by psr View PostThis thread had also started wasting it's pages on High speed comparisons, racing with other vehicles on the road, etc., I request members not to do the same, and share useful information and help each other...
Anyone with Blue NS. I want to get rim tapes done but confused about the color. BLUE or SILVER or WHITE

I agree buddy. I think the more constructive use of this thread would be in finding out permanent resolutions to the very frequently occuring issues.Originally posted by psr View PostThis thread had also started wasting it's pages on High speed comparisons, racing with other vehicles on the road, etc., I request members not to do the same, and share useful information and help each other...

Thanks for putting up this sensible pOst..Originally posted by psr View PostThis thread had also started wasting it's pages on High speed comparisons, racing with other vehicles on the road, etc., I request members not to do the same, and share useful information and help each other...
There is so much to learn about NS than arguing with each other.
@RahulBarik is your guy....IMHO, you should go with White colour, (and if possible go with the light radiating ones). The combination wil look coolOriginally posted by ankur2smart View PostTotally agree...every one was so happy with their NS. The problems posted so far with NS had been FE with different owners getting different readings,Engine oil preferences, and Crappy SVC experience.......With some owners getting the hang of tuning the Carburetor ,knowing good engine oils, and mostly getting inclined to wards DIY, members got bored and seem to have indulged in a little exploration of other topics...Still request to keep the thread clean of high speed runs, and comparisons, which are never ending ,and non productive...When Was The Last Time,You Did Something For The First Time.

Correct! Let there be peace everywhere and let it be begun with PSRji. Peacemakers who sow in peace reap a harvest of righteousness. Blessed are they, for they will be called children of God.Originally posted by psr View PostThis thread had also started wasting it's pages on High speed comparisons, racing with other vehicles on the road, etc., I request members not to do the same, and share useful information and help each other...

As you know sooooo much technical stuff about bike, I wanted to ask you a question.
What decides the idling rpm of bike??
I am asking this as my bike never got rpm adjusted through AFR/idling screw till 1st service but still its cold idling rpm dropped from 1300 to 1100 after I changed oil to motul 3000 15W50 from DTSi. I am sure there is no other variable. So i guess oil could be one variable. So then there must be other variable as well apart from AFR.
If you could give a detailed picture regarding how the engine decides to idle at certain rpm in given condition, would be quite helpful. Two roads diverged in a wood, and I--
I took the one less traveled by,
And that has made all the difference...

Idling is influenced by the ambient Temperature, the engine temperature,The grade and Type of engine oil used, your AFR setting, Bore to Piston ring sealing, cold/hot idle setting, and condition of Spark plug, air filter...I am presuming that the light loads and other electrical loads are off...
A thicker oil will reduce idle speed due to higher Viscosity .Last edited by psr; 09-25-2012, 04:27 PM.When Was The Last Time,You Did Something For The First Time.

Thanx for quick response.Originally posted by psr View PostFirst of all I know less than some members here about the bike....

The part in bold in your quote: It goes against my intuition. Thin oil should reduce idling rpm as it would reduce the friction in the internal parts. Also putting a 15W20 oil in NS reduced idling rpm in my bike as against what it had when it was running on 20W50. Please enlighten me on this. Two roads diverged in a wood, and I--
