Re: Pulsar 200 NS Owners Review and Experiences
Pardon me, I should have said "absolute vertical". If the ground is sloping the bike will tilt even on center stand. I have a dominar myself and quite a steep slope near my house. Consider that you are walking up a slope. Your body automatically tilts forward to compensate the slope. Same with your bike.Originally posted by lokeshc View Post

It's perpendicular to the ground.Originally posted by Throttlefreak View PostPardon me, I should have said "absolute vertical". If the ground is sloping the bike will tilt even on center stand. Considering that, would you say that the engine oil level is ok?

Re: Pulsar 200 NS Owners Review and Experiences
Nothing on this anyone?Originally posted by Akash.Yadav View PostGuys..
I've got my friend's NS(44300 kms done, from 2012) for a week and I took it for servicing.
I now see oil from the belly area and it does emit fumes after riding it for a couple of kms.
Engine oil remains good and in same colour as poured 100 kms ago.
Used Motul 5100 this time.
Need help since this doesn't look normal.
I've grounded the NS because of this mysterious oil leak.Regards,

Re: Pulsar 200 NS Owners Review and Experiences
Akash.Yadav Sorry i am new and i cannot help you regarding that. Maybe more experienced riders might have a clue but are a little busy maybe with their personal lives.
On the 3rd day my new ride started producing sounds from rear break pad. I suspect the disc is the culprit. My friend said that maybe a small stone might be stuck.
It is causing a screeching sound for every rotation of the read wheel.
Took it to the service center. Kalyani bajaj, mekhri circle, bangalore.
They said it is normal and that the plate needs time to get adjusted. They told me to go on long ride and it stop by itslef.
I noticed that the back disk brake, even though i don't use it 99% ( i am not kidding ) of times, was hot(not warm) to the touch after just 1.5 kms of ride ( from home to ser center).
This is causing me to panic. Is it normal? Shall i take it to a local mechanic?
Please advice.

Re: Pulsar 200 NS Owners Review and Experiences
Oil was filled properly but may be its the gaskets gone. The bike is not regularly used and since it went through wash and servicing(Motul 5100) in a really long time, I guess that's the reason. Any idea how much will it take to rectify this?Originally posted by samy_jk View PostThe Engine oil level is correct? Overfilled? If not you need to check the oil gaskets with SVC.Regards,

Re: Pulsar 200 NS Owners Review and Experiences
Looks likely the oil filter cap O ring is shot.. a 5rs piece that some mechanics skip replacing during a oil+filter change and the end result is this. Seen it happen a few times. The leak initially might not be as much to show a drastic decrease in oil levels.Originally posted by Akash.Yadav View PostOil was filled properly but may be its the gaskets gone. If you are unable to get an O ring, go to a local mechanic and use the anabond gasket sealant on the existing O ring and that should seal it up with no issues.
Can't say more without actually checking out the bike more closely. other places where seals can fail are the clutch case gasket etc..
I myself just picked up a ns200 oil filter to use on my duke (same filters), but was unable to get that O ring from the local shop. Have to head to the svc to see if they will part with an O ring

Having you point in the right direction, I did notice that the oil filter had traces of oil leak.Originally posted by s1d View PostLooks likely the oil filter cap O ring is shot.. a 5rs piece that some mechanics skip replacing during a oil+filter change and the end result is this. If it is that thing then procuring it should be easy.
I hope this can be done without removing all the oil. I have the remaining 800mL of Motul 5100 which can be used for top up.Regards,

yes, replacing the oil filter cap O ring can be done without draining the oil. a little might leak out, and you can top it off.Originally posted by Akash.Yadav View PostHaving you point in the right direction, I did notice that the oil filter had traces of oil leak.

i doubt local mech will have the O ring.. but should be available at the svc (costs Rs.5 iirc)Originally posted by Akash.Yadav View PostThanks bhai.

if you want to seal it with existing O ring, then clean and apply a layer of gasket sealant and put it back together.. wait for a few minutes before riding the bike.

I called up the nearest Bajaj ASS and they told it's Rs. 10 [emoji16]Originally posted by s1d View Posti doubt local mech will have the O ring.. but should be available at the svc (costs Rs.5 iirc)

Most likely will get it from there and may be get their mechanic to do this small work in the flow.Regards,

Re: Pulsar 200 NS Owners Review and Experiences
First service done.
Oil & oil filter changed.
Engine noise and break pad noise reduced.
Svc told me that they have fixed tappet.
When i rode the bike there was no noise. After 5kms noise started again but is a little less compared to before.
SVC guy told it is ok & i should ride for 2 - 3 days and see if noise persists.
I told him i am not comfortable as engine might get spoilt.
He said nothing will have happen.
Will tappet noise affect the engine? So many of you have been through this. Any suggestions?
Mekhri circle SVC, bangalore.
Also, you guys know any trusted or good SVC in bangalore that are reliable? These guys are so casual i don't think they really care about our bikes.
Very pissing off.

So the NS was shown at a Bajaj SVC and the mechanic confirmed that it was gone O ring seal. Replaced it with a new one since it was kinda 6 years old. Lost a little oil which was topped up since we had the second can of Motul 5100.
Total cost - Rs. 10
I love Bajaj even more considering that all this was done and no labour charge was taken.
Spares are so easy and cheap to procure.Regards,
