Wow post 9k? Isn't that a little rough on a cold engine? I just raise to it around 3 or 4 and keep it constant for a second or two. And then it's all good. It just takes a few tries before I can give throttle (gets switched off). So it's not a big problem, but I would like my bike to start on 1 go. And yea does idle rpm have any connection with the afr ratio?

About the gear shifting issue, it's not been addressed as yet. I'm on the verge of filing a case in the consumer court against Bajaj and the dealer.
For coolant leakage; tighten all joints by applying Anabond (or some thing similar gasket creator), which will resolve your issue, I think
I had done this on my LCV truck earlier

I'm not sure of the idle rpm after letting the engine warm up though. So I'm guessing that rpm is a little less? Is that why I have trouble starting it in one go? And is there any harm in giving throttle after turning on the vehicle to heat it up?
I had tuned my carburetor due to this issue.
Now perfect idling 1.4 K on cold start & no stalling

But I had lost my power, means pickup
      not tested mileage yet

previously I could do from 6K to 11K within 2 seconds in 4th gear. now its lost by a 1-2 seconds
I think it is the stock setting

Well,I have run into some real bad luck. I always take a cursory look over the bike before riding. Today, after coaching,to my horror,I noticed the cable connecting the slave spark plug on the right side of the bike has been severed clean. On inspection,it appears as if someone or something has either chewn through it or tried to cut through it with a relatively blunt instrument. Wincing with a pain almost physical,I turned on the bike and pushed the starter button apprehensively. Well, what do you know,it fired almost as cleanly as it did in the morning. But I did feel that the throttle response had grown way more jerky and the bike feels as if it is running out of fuel at times. Since my exams are on 12th and I have to travel to delhi and won't returning since 16th,I have decided to cover the bike with a dry cover and lock it in the garage till then. The pain and anger is almost overpowering though. Pity I have to cap it until my exams. Will post a pic of the damage later.

Planning to buy NS in a week's time, have chosen Popular Motor Corp , Bannerghatta Road ; going for a blue color.
Any recommendation about the dealer ?
Planning to change the stock tyre's to PSD, hope the difference is worth the price.
Fellow NS owner kindly let me know if there is any dos or don'ts ?

Sales person mentioned that I would get the bike the following day after payment as it has to get registered; can someone clarify if this is temp or a permanent registration ?

hey guys, found this pic on DIY thread of 'How to change engine oil of 200NS'.

Please see the red circled area. its the engine oil drain bolt. what is that white plastic thing inside that bolt. saw the same thing on my bike when the mechanic was changing my bike's engine oil at first service. i am kind of confused, because i have never seen such thing on any other bike except NS.....

Possibly a type of oil strainer . Why don't you just pull it out , check and clean it during your oil change ?

@vinodhs87: yes you can put tube inside a tubeless tyre, i am currently using it like this only. no problem at all.@saurabhjd: pretty weird location for a drain bolt. left hand side should be magneto side.

Sorry mate, I can't change the oil drain bolt position
And all pulsars have their oil drain bolt on their left side only

But like the oil filter which is on the right side of the engine, do we have to change this one also?? If yes then what is the frequency??

Yes it is recommended that you change the oil filter when you change oil as you dont want to pollute the new oil with the dirt from the oil filter. So better change it when you change your engine oil and its just as easy as changing oil

Nice, but I was asking about oil strainer which is inside the oil drain bolt. Is that also to be changed every time while changing the oil or is it supposed to be only cleaned??
