it was master cylinder piston of the front brake..not a big thing...it was faulty and made the front brake feel spongy...and it was only for NON ABS bikesOriginally posted by myth2104 View Post
Hope u get ur bike soon and do let us know what all was done and the cost of spares used and replaced under warranty...and if possible...ask that manager to forward a request to bajaj that many bikes in manufactured and sold sept-oct have many deffects and they should look into it and call for a recallOriginally posted by myth2104 View PostPulsar 200NS parts list

[QUOTE=nilesh14587;929494]Well, do you really have to stoop to those idiots' level to teach them a lesson?? What if a stupid cab driver gets blinded by your head light and hits you only due to it?? (or someone else for that matter)??
As they say, an eye for an eye makes whole world blind. (I am not particularly a Gandhi Fan..but this one makes a lot of sense...:P)
Well well well, Stoop low? Who says??
As well there's nothing like an eye for an eye in this.
Bro, you and I both know that we at XBHP promise ourselves to be sensible and prudent riders.
I wish that you could choose your words properly, which would not lead to a speculative conversation.

So finally got my beloved back. The whole week was traumatic thinking that the bike's at the svc. Firstly, the bike, in a way got a full servicing which it wouldn't have got had it been a regular service. As a result, very smooth and linear pull, change in the exhaust note (has become bassier and thicker), smoother gear shifts and a renewed feel of power.
Total pocket pinch : Rs.913/- (including oil change, oil filter, clutch packaging and other minor spares and gaskets)
The coolant was drained when the engine was opened up initially so it was changed too....but I didn't pay for it
The actual cost of the crankshaft was Rs.4452/- (replaced under warranty)
The only problem (minor prob) Im facing is that the mech has tuned the afr lean which is resulting in a lttle lag in pick up. Will get it tuned to richer in a day or two.
Haha...ok. Misunderstood youOriginally posted by nilesh14587 View PostLOL...
Sorry for the miscommunication. What i really meant is the ASM is member of your group, and was friendly toward you, so he told you...that was the "lucky" factor...otherwise i don't think you would have got to know that this problem is for whole batch..
I didn't mean you were lucky to face this break down....LOL how could I mean that??
Well, its a sad situation with customer care in India. We can just hope this issue wouldn't creep up again to anybody....

Yep I was lucky to get to know it from him. He too doesnt have the complete info because Bajaj dint let the info out to everyone. He too got to know it from his counterparts and known persons in Pune.
All we can do is just hope that no other bike develops such a defect and has to face what I had to face.
The manager at the svc doesn't have any idea about any such defect in any batch. He just finds it to be a mfg defect in a one-off case.Originally posted by mayank.travadi View PostHope u get ur bike soon and do let us know what all was done and the cost of spares used and replaced under warranty...and if possible...ask that manager to forward a request to bajaj that many bikes in manufactured and sold sept-oct have many deffects and they should look into it and call for a recallLast edited by myth2104; 03-25-2013, 11:13 PM.

I stand correctedOriginally posted by mayank.travadi View PostThats not the true reason...it is just a part of the complete picture...
the smaller rear tyre gives better cornering than the fatter duke tyre...trust me its true...NS corners better than duke...the 150 section tyre is overkill for the duke and its not as good a corner machine like NS...even PTR review mentions it
I knew NS was better around corners but I thought that was thanks to the perimeter frame, according to the xbhp review.
Do you experience any tappet noises? Did you try ripping again? And was the piston replaced along with the valves?Originally posted by myth2104 View PostSo finally got my beloved back. The engine block gasket and the cylinder gasket. The customer has to pay for the lubricants and consumables. But still Il be talking to some people at BAL to reason them that I wouldnt have had to pay for all this if the crank hadnt broken. Will post the result of the conversation.Originally posted by mayank.travadi View Postwhat sorts of gaskets and spares were used? u shudnt be charged for anything except oil and oil filter... and werent the valves damaged?what about those? hmm exhaust note change? how can that be caused due to a changed crankshaft
Yes I was told that the valves are damaged but they werent...it was just a guess they made before opening the engine...the great svc!!!
And the exhaust note changed due to the cleaning of the air filter and adjustment of the tappets.
@Aditya: I experienced very faint tappet noise earlier and no tappet noise now. I didn't rip it today but a normal cruise at 80kmph. My valves werent changed. Thanks

Magnet packaging 34/-
Cylinder gasket 279/- (this is what Im doubtful about)
Cylinder head gasket 13/-
Bushes 35/-
Oil Filter 74/-
Engine Oil 439 /- (1.2 lts)
Grommets 10/- (I purchased them for some reason other than my bike)
Yup running on stock DTSI oil. Had changed my Motul 3100 just 200kms back. So now ill run this crappy oil for 200-300 kms and the change.Originally posted by broken87 View Postglad to hear that man, happy for you! xD .. you must now be feeling even closer to your bike than before

Update: Just got to know that a guy from Siliguri got his crank changed when engineers from Pune had come to inspect the bikes. And no he didn't run into any probs before the change. It was changed as a precautionary measure.

Hello All,
Good morning
I have done a long drive for nearly 1100 Kms recently .
Had difficulty in comfort, then chain loosen up , Tyre pressure increased.
So its time for my 2nd free services.
Planing to changing my engine oil to Motul 7100 20W50 but it is 1 lt and as per manual refilling is 1.2 lt , so somebody tell me what to do !
Going to changing my Oil filter , chain services ( already once done before long drive ) ,air filter .
Suggest me if i have to change anything else and your valuable feedback .
Many Thanks in Advance

Well... I am the proud owner of New Pulsar 200NS. Thanks everyone in xbhp for helping me to make my decision.
One thing I dont like is the placement of the front number plate. I am not sure of Bujaj guys thought that through. I have seen some users putting the registration plate on top of the headlight (D200 style). Can some-one share that mod about how to do it?
Also, my bike is due for first-service in few days. Are there any particular things that I need to ask the SVC people personally?

The rear number plate assembly looks a bit weird in these photos. Post better pics if you can.Originally posted by nishant.sukharia View PostThe Job is done & the rear looks a lot better especially with the new number plate design!!
The small light above the no. plate is gone & so is the reflector.
Now the next thing on my list is the fatter MRF Revz-C 150/60 ,which would take a while .
Costs : Mount Work : 200 bucks
Modified No. plate : 50
And can someone post a photo which shows where the air filter is? Thanks

Its advisable that you dont change to Motul 7100 (fully synthetic) now. You should continue with a mineral oil for sometime, then change to semi-synthetic and later on around 8000-9000kms change to 7100.Originally posted by sara2868 View PostHello All,

But still if you want to go for it, its your choice. and whichever engine oil you buy, you will have to buy 2 bottles.

I think you should have a reflective sticker at least, somewhere on the rear.
There is a member who had posted a pic of his NS with Revz-C tyre. Its on page 1061.Last edited by danny king; 03-26-2013, 01:18 PM.Your bike is a part of you....
