And can someone post a photo which shows where the air filter is? Thanks
    Hi Ramdante,
here are the pics of the air filter assembly and the manufacturer for the AF assembly is SOGEFI. its a real pain to access the AF assembly as we need to remove the seats then the fuel tank. the paper element filter looks similar some of the K&N air filters but not sure if a K&N goes in directly or not, and you can see in the pics that air vent pipe is towards the front of the assembly and exactly above the engine head...

    • Got the third service done for my bike today when i went to Probiking, Adyar, Chennai to my surprise they just unloaded a big carton from the truck with KTM on it and made in Austria. i was very anxious to see whats in it then saw the sticker on it which says KTM 1190 RC8 R yes it is KTM's super bike which was unveiled in Delhi two days ago..then had a quick word with manager of the showroom regarding display of the bike and price of it....he replied that they will be displaying in the next two days and price is around 17 lakhs ex-showroom..and regarding my third service i asked the service advisor that can i go for Motul or any other apart from Bajaj DTSI engine oil, he said no but to my surprise when i checked the spares section there i found a good stock of Motul 7100 and they are ready to sell it but didin't understand what they are up saying no to change and selling it....

Thanks for posting the pics man!
Damn, no way am gonna be able to that. I asked because, the old P200 had a rubber duct leading outside of the air filter container, removing that increased the roar.
I thought of doing something similar for the NS :| Guess there isn't anything that we can do to increase the roar.

I am not sure if you can fit uni's air filter on the NS. You could try some K&N's though.
And for the oil, stick with mineral oil (Motul 3000) until 2000. then switch to Semi-Synths(Motul 3100/5100).

Use semi-synth as said by above post.. Change to full-synth only after 10k km or atleast after 7k km

I always recommend Motul.. About grade NS owners will help or check the manual for grade and quantity.

                  Cheers

Motul 3100 (semi synthetic) 20w50. You will need 1.2 litres so you will have to buy 2 bottles x 1L.

Yes it is a pain. So much to remove.

at what time you were there in the probiking centre ?
well i was a lil bit lucky, i went at about 2.30 for a engine oil change... thats when they opened that carton and moved that bike to the back of the service centre...
all the guys who were present there were snapping pictures of it...

And regarding engine oil, did u changed to motul or bajaj ?

i guess, whatever those guys say jus depends on their mood and varies from person to person... i had done my second service abt some 10 days back, during that time i enquired abt changing to Motul SS to them, the guy who made the service chart for me gave me two options

either i can buy it myselves and bring while taking the delivery and he ll change the oil and give
                          OR
he said that they can change themselves to motul, but it wont be from a separate 1L bottle, he mentioned something like they have stock in a drum at the back of the service centre, and they ll use that only... he also said that i m free to go and check it at the back of the service centre... and upon enquiring abt the price he said that it ll cost arnd 1500 for that...
i was like 1500 for SS... then i said no need to change engine oil now, i ll buy and bring and change in the coming week.... he said OK...

then i found this dealer in Xbhp engine oil thread, Goodwill Agencies- Avvai shanmugam salai, Gopalapuram, Chennai. Went there. They had all motul stocks. Got two bottles of Motul 3100 20w50 for some 600rs (approx). Then went back to probiking centre yesterday and got it changed. They didnt say anything to me. Thats when i saw this KTM bike being opened from its carton and taken to the back of the service centre. I didnt knew that its for showroom display, i thought some one has ordered it .... when i enquired the price, they said the same to me, 17 lakhs ....

You're the guy who'll be sneaking out of your bedroom at three o'clock in the morning to look at your bike.

                            • Need some urgent help.. I took a small round on my ns yesterday when i realized that the mechanic has adjusted the headlight incorrectly.. The with the saddlebags mounted, the highbeam does not illuminate the road and lights up the top of trees instead :|

I do not have enough time to visit the service center to adjust the headlight and will be doing a ~1000km trip over the weekend
Please can someone tell me where the adjustment screw is located? A picture of it will be most helpful..
