And Forget about the smell. Its just the oil. Some engines are not sealed completely well [Nothing to worry, it doesnt affect anything much- Bajaj would'nt have let it come out of the factory otherwise.] So a teensy bit of oil comes out from the seal area [dont worry about this either, its not at all a significant amount- itll be a greasy coating on the engine surface] It'll be this oil, along with other greasy things collected on the engine from the roads, vapourising.. so, the smell.. Again, i used to have this problem. It dissapeared when i opened and de-carbed the engine- [New seals and a very experienced mech did the trick]

Re: Pulsar 200 NS Owners Review and Experiences
I'm guessing that something [which burns easily- might be oil/ might be a cloth or paper] burned when it hit the hot exhaust. So the smoke. I've had this same experience before. Smoke came from the same area after a ride. Turned out that the mech who serviced my bike had left a bit of the waste cloth he used to clean the headcover which started burning once the bike was heated up.Originally posted by pratikthereddevil View Post

Zapper S for rear hmm that's good. But is it coming in the same size 130/70-17? Because I can see only 140 on MRF website for Zapper S. They might not have updated it on the site.Originally posted by Gnayak View PostYes panigrahy_amrit, We are getting MRF Zappers now a days.
NYLOGRIP ZAPPER-FY2 on front.
NYLOGRIP ZAPPER-S on rear.

Re: Pulsar 200 NS Owners Review and Experiences
Hey guys...a little help required..had an unfortunate accident a couple of weeks back, leading to a fractured patella(damn the unmarked speedbreakers!!)..
Apart from that..wanted to know if anyone has any idea about the cost of spare parts for the bike...the left hand side of the bike was a bike scrapped...mainly looking for a replacement to the headlight and the entire cowl housing the headlight (pic below)..and the cowl/fairing on the tank..just the left side...
Also wanted to enquire about the tyres...the bike has amazing brakes with a great grip..but the bloody stock eurogrip tyres can't hold on to any of the brake bites!! (Just read that they now offering the bike with MRF tyres now, while I got the bike on the 8th of September only).. What would the effective cost be to upgrade the tyres???

Anyway, check this for the pricing.. Its the old pricing, they have been revised. But, good enough for reference. So, just keep around 50/--400/- extra for parts. Increases by 50/--100/- for small cheaper parts. By around 200/- 300/- for the larger costlier parts.
Spare Parts price list for Bajaj Pulsar 200 NS | Nex Gen Bikes
I bought the head light cowl [left/right panel] recently. Was around 195/- for one side [ its shown as 138/- in the link]

Hey man...thanks will check it out...btw the headlight cowl?? Same as the pic I put up?? Cause a friend found out and the guy from Bajaj was saying that it costs almost 3k for the whole headlight assembly + cowl...found it too steep...Originally posted by razr View PostGlad you're safe.. The SVC was quoting 10k to fix my bike..not much damage..mainly cosmetic stuff..and I found it too steep..spoke to my local mechanic who said the parts would cost around 5-6k from Bajaj...and he would fit them for an extra 1k..but again found it fishy when they told me the whole headlight assembly + cowl is around 3k..
The lights works fine..it's just the scratches that are irritating me since its a new bike...

Re: Pulsar 200 NS Owners Review and Experiences
10K?? It cost me 9K to change every single painted palstic part on the bike [other than front mudguard] +both handlebars+ plus both crashguards.. Not to mention labour included.. Tell the SVC to give you a proper price list of the things to be replaced. If they say, no.. tell them its to claim insurance and the insurance company wants a proper estimate.Originally posted by cooki3monster View PostHey man...thanks will check it out...btw the headlight cowl?? But i think that the whole headlight assembly is around 3k.. [ comes with the wiring harness and the panels too, i believe.. must be why]

I hope that the SS fairing fits.. Don't know how much it'll cost though..Some new pics are out of the SS. I think we might have to change either the tank and the plastic panels on it, or maybe just the panels by the looks of it.. Fingers crossed, eh?Originally posted by Anuj_Gupta View PostIf you're put for replacing fibre and headlights, I suggest ride like this for couple of months ,then get faring of 200ssLast edited by razr; 12-01-2014, 02:17 PM.

Re: Pulsar 200 NS Owners Review and Experiences
Exactly what I thought!! 10k was a way too steep estimate...but the guy at the SVC was pretty rude...wasn't really interested in giving me an estimate..asked for the cost of the side fairing / cowl he said around 1k..so then I asked him if you say that is the most expensive at 1k how is everything coming to 10k?? And I have a total of only around 4-5 parts to replace to make the bike look as good as new...he just said you asked for an estimate and walked away..hence I went and asked my local mechanic...Originally posted by razr View Post10K?? Call up customer care. Tell them how rude and unhelpful the people at the SVC was, and just see the magic happen..Originally posted by cooki3monster View PostExactly what I thought!! Other wise, if your mechanic is someone you trust, dont look elsewhere, buy the parts from the SVC, and just give it to him.. They cant manipulate the price of the parts since it comes printed on it..Last edited by razr; 12-01-2014, 02:21 PM.

Re: Pulsar 200 NS Owners Review and Experiences
Like i said, the list is not true rates, they have been revised.. So, as long as the price sticker checks out on the part box, youre fine.. [ The stickers have a genuinity test] Make sure whatever parts you buy comes with the Bajaj price tag. They all mostly come in boxes or plastic packets, so it will be stuck on it. Sometimes parts wont be avilable, so you might have to wait. Otherwise check with another SVC accessible to you..Originally posted by cooki3monster View PostSounds like a good plan...

Get well soon.. And get some good riding gear.. They'll help a lot in crash situations.. A good jacket and knee guards with a good helmet will help avoid more injuries..Originally posted by cooki3monster View PostYeah...will definately go and get the parts myself...for a fact I know that once I purchase the parts I can just get the guys at the SVC guys to fit it...Atleast I know I had it done when I had a Yamaha FZ16...
