i too had almost the same problem, except for that in my case the culprit was the "Coolant Temperature Indicator". Same like in your case, in mine the "Coolant Temperature Indicator" started blinking whenever i rode the bike after a hour or two gap, and after riding for about 1 or 2 kms.... I was planning to take it to SVC, but right exactly on the day before i was gonna take it to SVC "Jee Boom Ba", the problem vanished... and it never occured again, atleast till now ... and its been abt more than 2 weeks now.... Guess in your case too it would be some sensor issue, but its better you take it to the nearest SVC and get it checked, rather than waiting for any reply here ...

same had happened with me..but one day coolant light kept on even after 3 hours gap, bike didnt star at all. after 2 months, by insisting a lot to check, sensor will be replaced.. insisted a ot to check radiator, even forced the mechanic to go for a ride.

He din't complain any problems about battery drainage or anything, but will ask him nonetheless. Sorry for intervening. Both me and JK are mutual friends with him, he's our riding partner..! :-D

I would recommend It would have been better if you could have got a temp handle from any shop of any bike, It could have been fixed by mech! If it can't then it's more better to tow it to place then this Jugaad, It's scary mate!! You really played with your life...
I was in middle of a village. I contacted one mechanic( I know how we found one), he said without welding not possible & you need to give the bike for at least a day(the trip was on sunday btw). We tried finding out towing co. thru just dial, none came to rescue. In the end with the help of few people we did this JUGAAD. I never played with my or anyones life. My friend in car was driving in front of me to give me enough room & another frn in car was behind me to keep me safe from traffic.

I see.. So after doing that jugaadd u rode the bike at what speed ? & how much for getting new handle etc installed .. claimed insurance ?
Well the speed was close to 60 as roads were wide enough. Wherever I felt uncomfortable I used to drop it to 30-40 km/h. The handle costs 390, leg gurad(one side) ONLY RS 96 :@. total bill was 1209. No man, I didnt claim insurance as bill amount was not that huge. Service was done at Auto Service, Bangalore( the only center open on SUNDAY )

                          • Hi guys

i recently purchased the 200ns. This is my first bike, hence i am not able to judge my overall experience relatively. But the bike for a starter like me is nothing short of brilliant.

There are few problems that i would like to share, request you to clarify, help me out on this.
                            1. When i first rode my bike from the dealership to home,on the 23rd, the experience was a smooth one. But as the days passed and the kms clocked the ride quality worsened. The vibrations are quite irritating in the 4k rpm range around 48kmph. So when i went to the SVC on the 25th for this issue, they simply topped up the engine oil and returned it. Now, the real problem is the engine oil is leaking. Is it common for a new bike or do i inform the SVC about this and get something done.

I have currently clocked 480 kms and planning to give it for first servicing on sat after completing about 600kms.

                            2. Also my engine seems to heat up rapidly? Is this issue related to the above mentioned or do i need to someting else too?

                            3. Also my gearbox gets jammed. Sometimes it fails to downshift in the middle of the traffic. Is this common too? What could be the solution for this problem?

Other than these, there are no other issues. My beast gives me a healthy 49.2 kmpl

Hope the other issues to get sorted out after first SVC
                            Thanks in advance

                              • Congrats on the new purchase. Before the first service is done, with increase in kms the bike gets more rougher. The parts are setting in , friction is more, where there is more friction comes more heat, so it's obvious that the ride will heat up more than a older bike which has set in properly, and all of this problem will settle after the first service and will be butter smooth by second service is over.

Since i mentioned parts setting in and more heat, that means the oil will have a much shorter life than in a normal bike would, so a early drainage of oil is recommended, not that it'll damage the engine otherwise, but just for the sake of safety. And older and dirtier oil also causes hard gearshifts.

So question 1,2,3 are taken care of.

About the vibrations, might be because of the rough ride, but do double check with the svc guys if the rubber parts onto the tanks are added to reduce vibration.

Now about the engine leak part, is it from the engine head. i don't think an engine oil leak should be happening. Do check the engine oil level and check if they over filler the oil. If the leak is in the head, get the oil gaskets changed at first service. I'm sure the leak is not severe, so no worries.

P.S: I know the service interval is 5k kms, but that is nothing but a big joke. They just get to give you lesser free services and bikes come with more wear and tear, it's not good for the bikes, please change oil and oil filter religiously according to the nature of the oil used and not as per the service interval , so does cleaning the air filter. Many people ignore this fact.

                                Cheers
                                Ride Safe
                                Krishna
