One week with the bike and 400 kms done. Today I suddenly started to get a few vibrations in the foot pegs and the handle bars. They reduced after I parked the bike and started it after a few hours. One incident which happened with the bike today is that the left side front indicator became loose, I don't know if it was because of the increased vibes or the fitting was loose from the start itself, but the indicator was hanging by its wire
. I thought that bajaj had done better with this bike than the previous pulsars. I have put the indicator back in its clot with some tape because the indicator was held by another nut on the other side which has fallen into the headlight assembly and I can't reach it. The indicator still works. I'm going in for my first service at 450 kms where I will ask them about the vibes and indicator. I got the free check-up done from the service centre few days back. I had the same noise from the rear brake which many people have complained about. For this he removed the break- pads and used some sand paper on them. The problem seems to have been solved by that
I asked for rubber grommets but after seeing my chassis number the manager said that they are fitted from the factory itself for the new bikes so mine already has them. I was allowed to stand by the mechanic and see the servicing take place.
The one doubt I have is that why are there still a few vibrations even after the grommets have been fixed?
I would rather be riding my bike thinking of God, than sitting in the temple thinking of my bike.

if it isnt too much can u post the break up of the amount u paid in the accident...u can see my signature is a google spreadsheet and i am trying to find as much info about the parts cost as possible to help us allOriginally posted by broken87 View PostThey did.. I had to spend whole day yesterday at SVC... with 1-2 hr break. In the end the Old rims were broken in front of me & surveyor once they were off the bike & new ones had been installed. Pictures were taken etc. A total cost of Rs 5982/- had to be paid by me. Insurance will cover 100% & will send a check within 30-45 days. Surprisingly both front & rear tires are OK & didn't need changing. Bike was ready by 6 pm. Though still there is something making a constant noise in the rear wheel. Have to get it sorted out fast. Then Ride it.. and ride it more to see if the bike is behaving just like she did before. Still can't believe a stone in the middle of the road did all this.. hurts
Guys my secondary rear tyre hugger...its kind of not in place...well it is firm and doesnt move but when i look at it from behind..it looks like it is not in the centre but a bit towards left....and i have seen this in many bikes the rear hugger shifts from centre...Pulsar 200NS parts list

U give me hope brotherOriginally posted by somen1984 View PostActually this decision should be from your own instinct!!
I am 5.5' and have rode NS200 extensively with my friend as a pillion who owns it. I encounter some roads with bad potholes and even water clogged areas in my daily 42kms ride to office.
And I don't feel uncomfortable at all. I can always put one of the foots nicely on ground and I don't need both legs to touch the ground, unless I don't do some kind of stunt or something.
Even When i had TR from Showroom that time my pillion was something 5.10 -6.0 ft with 85 odd kgs..Even that time I din't felt it as uncomfortable.
If a person really knows when/where/how to ride then he won't face any issues any where with any bike. Because he will be prepare for the same.
Don't go by my words but ride it self for some 3-5 times and decide don't forget to take your pillion while TR!!
..... will go for test ride again ....

The tool-kit provided with the bike will be sufficient for minor incidents. You won't usually need too many tools or any tools at all during falls etc. Usually majour parts will remain intact. In-case something is damaged you can't do much about it. Like if your brakes may be bent, you won't be able to anything but ride with them to the nearest service station.Originally posted by pgaucha View PostCan anyone provide the list of tools required for our NS in all circumstances???I would rather be riding my bike thinking of God, than sitting in the temple thinking of my bike.

u r complaining about vibrations my HONDA shine has so much vibration that i feel like the bike would come apart after 45 km/hr. I have compliant this to the HONDA service center and they are of their opinion that they cant do much about this since its a known phenomenon.

No Buddy, some of us wuld like to take apart the whole bike, And treat her to our likings.. Sans the tools.Originally posted by Horror View PostThe tool-kit provided with the bike will be sufficient for minor incidents. Also, what i Have seen is the NS is designed pretty complexly, as compared to other similar bikes.
Just to give u an example - To clean the Air Filter of the NS, You need to open up the tank part, which is quite complex, with the different nuts, and the wires, pipesGoing out of the tanks, and getting connected to various other points.. Same for the headlight assembly.
Even the carburetor is so carefully hidden within the perimeter frame, that tuning the AFR Screw gets difficult, Forget opening up the carb!!!sigpicRelationships change, evolve, and it goes deep.
Only thing I can say - "The storm is coming"

yes somen1984 gives best advices
am 5.6 can touch the ground on both sides but it just the toe 2or3 cm above the ground
go for test ride as solmen suggested
according to my knowledge it not only the saddle height but person himself and seat design plays a major role
note am note owner of 200ns

Valve Tubeless Tyre (2) - 36.84
Axle - 114.47
Wheel 2.5x17 DIE C - 1897.37
Axle Rear - 135.96
Wheel 3.5x17 - 2678
Total - 4863
Tax aur Labour charges include kar ke hua 5982/-
I also noticed the Tyre hugger being bit towards left when my bike was grounded 3 days back. Then I checked many other NS bikes at SVC (new ones & old).. but sab ka aisa hi hai. It's normal for it to appear like that. unsold NS ka bhi aisa hi dikhta hai
edit-
It turns out that the rear disc caliper is what's making noise.. They did some work on it & it's making lesser noise but it's there. SVC guy was nice & said just ride it like this only as it's very low now & perhaps the noise will diminish on it's own by time. If it doesn't we'll just change the whole disc caliper. It costs 1800 bucks btw...Last edited by broken87; 12-22-2012, 08:25 PM.

Well....about this height issue..Im out of words now.
Earlier when friends say that NS will not be suitable for less than 5'8" tall guys, I used to show them how I ride the bike. I'm a little over 5'4". Yea,I cant touch both feet down at the same time. But my Love for the bike, made me adapt to it. I run it everyday for about 20kms.(BUT THE ROAD IS SMOOTH AND WIDE IN THIS AREA WERE I ROAM...NO SUCH DEEP POT HOLES) And Im totally comfortable with it.But now that I heard some of you people say about those difficulties they had due to NS saddle height, I also fear, someday I've to face it too...
Someone asked earlier about having a pillion..There will be a problem,if the pillion is a lady, and she sits with "both legs, one side(left)" style...thats because with this height one cannot put both legs at the same time, and if the bike bends to the right side when halt,we'll lose balance.
I'VE NEVER FACED THIS ISSUE...BECAUSE NO ONE EVER SAT WITH ME LIKE THAT. My mom will never sit as a pillion in my NS...she is the who gave me the money for the bike...
but....
well....we cant have all the gooddy gooddies at the same time...
If you love the bike...go for it,but be cautious about all these issues..enjoy the ride

i think pillion wont be a problem as weight bring down the saddle slightly if pillion is chubby. i can fell difference in my cbz dont konw about monoshock suspentionOriginally posted by Nithyan.S View PostWell....about this height issue..Im out of words now.

Dont be too much concerned about the height issue. I am 5'8" and I too cannot put both feet on the ground completely at once. But, I have never faced the problem with balancing on bad roads when stopping. It is quite manageable if you are used to the weight.Originally posted by Nithyan.S View PostWell....about this height issue..Im out of words now.

Most off-road bikes are very tall even for six-footers. Just ride it like you would ride an off road bike.
