    Thanks bro.

How would dunlop fare for the Grip ?? . There would be slight speedo correction when we are changing the tire size though.

Is there any change in handling or flick-abilty of the bike ?

+1. With the 130 section tyre, the rear doesn't look too good without the hugger. I'm yet to see an NS with a 140 section rear with a flat profile like FZ's. But it's advisable not to change the tyre size. Did you put on a bigger tyre?

@all, I was hit by a friggin royal enfield and then that a**h*** simply ran away dammit. Very minor scratches on my fingers and knee. But the right side handlebar and brake lever are bent. What's the cost of the right side handlebar?
To the guy who thought up the idea of a crash guard, you're brilliant.

That's for the front tyre mate...changing the rear tyre size does not affect the speedometer readings at all...as the cable in linked to the front wheel not the rear one...

note: these are no signs of my battery being weak when it comes to other electrical parts......i also took it to svc he told me "some patti dhelli ho gae thi" but the horn cracked again

Why did you have to pay?? I think it should've been replaced free of cost under warranty!

The horn is is really pathetic. It has a mind of its own and cracks up randomly. You can try tuning the horn. But if it happens only when you switch on the lights...then try checking the wires for any loose ends or something.

Link lock is the small-piece of metal that interlinks the chain. you can open the chain after removing the link lock. On the NS you see an orange patti on the chain.

Sorry to hear about your accident mate. Hope not too much damage other than those mentioned.

You mean you had to pay for the disc replacement ? shouldnt it have been done under warranty ? also regarding the front brake not being effective, just check the brake oil level and also the brake pads, if you use too much of the front disc then they do tend wear out soon.

Whenever i take it to SVC they say they cannot adjust anything as its disc brakes.....FYI i am close to 8K kms.... so are the brake pads worn out so soon?
The same thing happened to me a few hundred kms. ago. Just went to my trusted local mechanic and got the problem solved. He opened the brake calipers and sand papered the pads and disc nicely and made some oblique grooves(not very deep) with the help of a hack saw blade on the pads and also bled out some air bubbles from the brake line. Though I couldn't feel any difference immediately but as said by the mechanic after riding the bike for about 6-7 kms. the sharp brake bite was back and till now I haven't faced the issue anymore.

BTW my bike by the side of river Hooghly...........

Yeah lol, I realized that 2 hours after I had returned back from the SVC & paid already... then I went back to discuss this with the Mechanics etc.. they said I chose to install the new Disc myself (I had only advised them that perhaps the Disc is the culprit) & that my previous Disc wasn't bent etc. But the fact that I had already paid for it & should've discussed this matter before paying closed the matter. I didn't think it was reasonable to argue more & ask for a refund as their Warranty manager had come down to sort it out. He said it would very difficult now that you've paid..
and yes, I have abused the front brakes alot. but the thing is they still used to deadstop my bike before that silly mechanic put his hands on my front tire yesterday (to fix the reversed tire issue). also brake oil level was refilled by mechanic & also the brake pads were rubbed & cleansed.

No, I still haven't. But if I ever do I might for that Dunlop 140/70/17 one.. I spotted it on one of the NS at SVC yesteday.. that tyre appeared to perfectly suit the rear section of NS. also when I inquired.. the guy who had it installed seemed very happy with it.

                    Very sad to hear that,
lol, at my SVC I spot Dukes & NS all the time in the servicing room where bikes who've had an accident are kept .. it's like NS is an accident magnet.

Indeed ! To new buyers it may seem like they're so small & don't even serve a purpose on this bike.. but man it's such a nice thing to have

Hmmm..yeah the orange thing. I wouldn't mind removing it but I hope I can put it back to the way it was before. I don't wanna have the chain coming out while riding do I? The svc guys simply spray WD-40 everytime I ask them to clean the chain.

About the accident, I'm not hurt at all, a few tiny scratches on 2 of my RH fingers are bothering me coz I can't eat hot rice But I'm simply burning inside coz my bike's fallen for the second time now the handlebar's bent just a few degrees and the brake pedal's bent inwards and that makes riding way too uncomfortable. That *awesome* svc said it'd take them 6 days to get the spares so the wait is on. My poor bike's been going through a lot.

Most owners don't ride them like royal enfields anyway! It's simply a shame not to ride these bikes fast or accelerate hard! Mysore's seen a few major accidents on dukes recently, one happening to a friend of mine.

                          • forgot to share something. For the first time I test rode Apache 180 & R15 v2.0 one by one. I don't mean to offend anyone here at xbhp or troll.. but I was left extremely unimpressed with both bikes. Why Apache 180 just felt like powerless ?? I had to blip the throttle completely to get decent acceleration with a pillion on my back, even that didn't satisfy me. While if you do that full throttle on NS, it pulls & accelerates both rider & pillion to a scary level. The brakes weren't good. Also the bike just felt light, small The only good thing was the handle bar position. Also the gear shifting that was sooooo much better than NS.
R15 v2 also felt unimpressive even at full throttle.. but riding was smooth & vibration free.. sweet gear shifts. Ultra light handling seemed one of it's plus points .. I was actually wobbling the bike at first cause I couldn't get used to fairings. & brakes also were terrific like NS. But overall still unimpressed with the power delivery & feeling.
Today I realized why happy NSians call NS a monster (which I sometimes felt was an exaggeration), why it has been received so well by everyone. It's such an amazing bike to have.
Respect for all other bikes ! & love love love for NS
