Did clear coating today by myself
After failed search for proper lacquer paint... I opted for bosny clear coat spray paint can..

Striped body and cleaned it with mild detergent solution.. and after drying it with dry cloth and hair dryer gave each part (tail, mid section and tank) 3 coats..

This made the look and texture to a matte colour one..

        Hello all,

After a brief introduction, this is my first proper (rather lengthy) post. I am a proud owner of the 200ns, my first one, since 2 months now. I have been religiously following these threads, reading and gaining as much as information on the bike. Although late to join the party, thought of just chipping in with my personal experience and observations on the NS, through these 2300 odd kms of ownership.

        Buying decision –

Automobiles have fascinated me ever since I can remember and the longing to own a bike has been a natural consequence of it, finally getting my hands on one - 5 years into work life. We have a Honda Aviator & Kinetic at home and have had several bikes at my place during college days (thanks to all those outstation friends).
One thing was sure, after having waited so long I wanted a reasonably powerful bike even if it came at a cost. Some basic product study and it was not very difficult to zero in on the NS. It looked meaty, had the right curves and had tech load of specs at a price which made it irresistible. Reading through all reviews and the threads here, along with 3 TDs, the decision was finally made.

        Buying/dealer experience –

Understood that Khivaraj and Jai Bajaj were the major players in Chennai. Went into Khivaraj Mount road, had a humbling experience, walked off. From there straight to Jai Bajaj at West Mambalam – Much better customer reception, probably because of the senior staff. All formalities clarified, booked the bike on 9th June, got it delivered on 14th July, 15 days behind the promised delivery date.
Even though the staff at Jai was courteous, they really knew business and did not budge in for any discounts or freebies (had to buy the center stand and cover at full cost). They were stern and had a no-nonsense attitude (not a bad thing though). No fanfare during delivery too - One mechanic hurriedly briefed me about the bike, handed over the key and left me all alone. The sales person who was attending to my order did not even come out of her seat. I had to console my conscience, despite buying one of the costliest bikes from their stable.

        Initial driving impressions –
st gear felt pretty long whereas in comparison the 2ndstFirst Service update –
        nd to 3rdnd

900 on the ODO for me, a month old NS and I too sense two clicks when shifting from 2nd to 3rd. So I'm guessing its fine.

You can shift to Motul 5100 if you want, but I highly suggest you stick with 20w50 which is Motul 7100 (if you're into touring) as, in 15w50 viscosity changes and drops at high temperature during touring and such in my opinion.

I don't think there is anyway to change the travel of the gear lever. The only solution is to change the engine oil and cope up the level travel with smooth shifts. Cheers.
It never gets easier, you just go faster.

Thanks Anirudh, hoping that the shifts become better with oil change.

Motul 7100 is the best oil for the NS (300V is overkill). It takes a while to warm up, but once it's in its zone, the performance is quite good. I've never missed a single gearshift on my NS, for the past 3.5k km after switching to this.

Try the 7100, you'll never regret it. Also, the drain interval can easily exceed 5k km (some claim 7k km too).

Can you guys recommend any good service center or good mechanic located in Kolkata for my Pulsar 200 NS.
Having some trouble in handling, the handle seems to be woobling at high speed, when turning. Checked with the Rolta Bajaj service center, but they were unable rectify it.

I personally feel the second gear in the NS is quite useless. The bike lugs at 20 km/hr in the 2nd gear. It makes it mandatory to shift to first gear while slowing down in traffic. Its not tall enough too. AFAIK most riders stay in 2nd gear for very short periods. 3rd gear onwards its quite good
Or maybe am not a good rider :what: any corrections ??

                    Mine story is completly different.
I change to 3rd gear after 18kmph and bike pulls fine.
I can ride easily at 11 kmph on 2nd gear.

                      Yep same here....
I got almost 2k on the odo, and it has been a really good experience so for.
i switched to motul 3000 mineral after the first service and i can vouch for this oil, its just so much better than the stock oil (which i believe is some oil made by HP) and since this is mineral u can use this in the run in period.
I am too going to switch over to motul 5100 after the second service.
