  • pulsar 200ns mileage drop

    Hello everyone .
I am owning pulsar200ns . purchased it in 2012oct and ridden it 12500km .I am getting an avg of 32kmpl in the city ,before it used to give around 42kmpl . I got everything checked .I got carburator and the spark plugs cleaned recently and also got it tuned. what may be the problem ? Shall I replace the air filter ? I am getting 34kmpl on the highway after riding it at 80kmpl constantly. Which air filter should I use for better mileage ?

How much afr screw turns is the default setting for our NS?? A full turn means rotate 360 degree right? I think svc guys played with it during frst service. I feel less throttle response and getting arnd 50 kmpl mileage

Once upon a time, a guy asked a girl 'Will you marry me?'
            The girl said, 'NO!'

And the guy lived happily ever after and rode motorcycles and watched sport on a big screen TV, went fishing and surfing, and played golf a lot, and drank beer and scotch and had tons of money in the bank and left the toilet seat up and farted whenever he wanted.

            THE END

They cannot deny to sell you filter. Its against consumer rules, drop a mail to bajaj and see the magic.
Finally I got my oil filter . From a different dealer though. I sent a query to bajaj regarding the other dealer who'd refused. Bajaj asked me for the details, i gave it to them but havent heard from them after that. Anyway, this new svc I found is pretty great so [emoji3] now.

Factory setting is 2.5 turn all new bikes.
Always set it between 2-3 full turns.
                  Min 1.5 and max 4.5
                  Ohh.. I shared secret stuff.[emoji3]

One more thing, in a hurry, 1.3l oil was poured instead of 1.2l I hope that wont be a problem ?

                        Your welcome bro
                        2.5 turn gives around 38-40kmpl
Next time check bikes CO level and set it on 2-2.3. I personally found rich mixture is gives good low end torque .. So i keep it on 3 turns with this setting no starting issue, less heating, good mileage 35-38kmpl, great torque.. Acceleration is little low but not noticeable.

Ran into another problem with my ns.. Its 3 months old and has done 1720kms... The problem is the bike won't switch on randomly... The odo lights will turn up but when I tried to start the engine all hell breaks loose and the odo switches off... Happens randomly... This had happened earlier and SVC guys fixed it ... They said some fuse was gone... But it happened again today in just abt 700kms... Will be taking it to SVC tomorrow... ...

I have a question. Is pulsar 200 ns good for touring. I mean can I drive it for 8 -9 hours a day?

Sent from my GT-P3100 using xBhp Connect mobile app

Get your wiring harness checked, something is exposed which is causing short circuit. Hence, fuse blows up often.
@PetrolH3ad It would not be a problem, you can fill upto 1.4 liters easily if you drain the oil better.
@royal racer One thing I would like to add, those CO values are before catcon, the ones we get at pollution testing centers are measured after catcon, so there would be a difference in values. One can use a gas analyzer in the hole Bajaj has given in the exhaust which can be accessed by removing a number 10 bolt (with a number 10 socket preferably).

Wet grip no way as good as Pilot street "radial". No grip on Sand and gravel.
I'm sorry and no personal grudge and offense, but were you the one who hated changing tires and liked the Eurogrip tires earlier?

It is rideable, people have taken this bike to Leh Ladakh tours, let's be honest, it is no CBR or a Ninja and sure as hell ain't a Beemer, but it is rideable for long.
                              I am back!

                                Good Evening Guys,

After a long tiring day, writing my first ever post on XBHP.
After owning Karizma and R15, i wanted to go for a naked sports bike but was tight on budget. So, it took a lot of research to final decide upon buying Pulsar 200ns. I never really like pulsar but this one was different.
I woke up early in the morning rushed to the showroom and got the bike today itself. So the first ride on this bike was from showroom to the office. I tell you the feeling of riding a bike with such refined and powerful engine was amazing. 8 hours in the office, it felt never ending because i was so desperate to ride the bike. I took it for a little ride, the engine felt super smooth and refined, braking is good. I can't really tell much because I've only ridden 50kms and its the 1st day.
Looking forward to share my experiences and issues related to this bike.

                                Happy Biking mates!
                                K.R.
