My bike losses power between the 6500 to 7500 rpm.

    Scenario:

Speed of 120 kmph, need to brake so understand the vehicle in front of you. Decide to overtake from the right. Speed has decreased. RPM is below 6500. Open the throttle, the bike becomes sluggish. Once the RPM reaches 7500, it opens up as though the turbocharger just kicked in.

What do i need to check??

    Kindly guide me guruji."

And the valve sets are the old ones.. The lathe guy polished them.. The only thing new was the cam chain, and the normal packing and seals.. Valve oil seals were custom made [same lathe guy] since the one bajaj had was for the other pulsars.. And my head cover bolts were completely useless, but since no bajaj showroom in the city had one , had to get a make shift, Scooty streak's head cover bolt, plus a washer and another rubber washer... Done! No leaks.. Now head cover is a bit oily, but this is after 5k kms.. So its holding up, oil levels are still the same.. The mech also said this is temporary, so were still looking for those bolts.. [ bajaj people said their normal " Two weeks, we'll definitely have it!" so i knew itll take a couple of months]

Whole thing cost me around 2.5k including spares... Plus engine oil and coolant though...so plus another 750 for motul 7100 [had an extra half can already] and 280 for 1L of castrol radicool. so around 3.5 k overall.. And for me, the best value for money.. coz revving that engine just plasters a smile on my face..

        ----consecutive posts auto-merged-----

Yeah, currently running on them.. Its good, but the light wont look any different, its just brighter, im telling you now itself that it does nothing aesthetically to the bike, if youre thinking of that also, If you want looks+ better light go for the crystal vision. But for me, visibility is way better now..

The specification you should look for is the same for any bulb youll need- H4 socket, 55/60 Watt bulb...These specs are for cars normally.. [Most bikes have 35 Watt bulbs, so look at the packing properly to find the wattage. Itll be useless as an upgrade otherwise..]
I too had a missing mudguard bolt
Till today I didnt get a proper bolt and washer for it
The bajaj guys put a longer bolt with a nut behind it cause the bolt was too long

Check the bajaj website. Along with their list of auth. Sale dealers, they also have auth. spare dealers. Find the one nearest to you. Call them or go there directly and ask for parts. These spare dealers will be the ones who supply all the other dealerships in your area. I think youll be able to source parts a bit more easily..

It's the old diaphragm issue. The turbo lag + kick-in feel at 7k rpm has been thoroughly discussed about, here. Anyway refer to this. It might help.

Using this combo on the 2012-13 models will result in throttle lag after engine braking (which gets severe at high rpm/high speed), power feels muted and low end torque feels bad. After applying some high school concepts on permutations and combinations, I came to the conclusion that the new diaphragm (soft rubber attachment to the slide) is detachable and can be used along with the old slide and spring. With this combo the bike was back to its full glory.

Theres some liquid coming from that small hole in that silencer box. When i give throttle it sprays that liquid to ground. Its not petrol i think as it doesnt seems to be volatile. Whats the problem?

Had rains lately? or Went through water? Must be the water in the silencer. The small hole is a drain hole for the silencer box. Or maybe, in petrol cars there is sometimes water produced by the reactions in the engine, catcon etc..which comes out of the exhaust pipe. This might be the same thing, its nothing to worry about if its that then...
But if it is thicker than water/ does not feel like water.. or more quantity is coming out..Go get it checked..

Dunno then, it might be residual water from somewhere...go for a run. if its still there after it, get it checked out..

8,000kms, 3 free service completed, no severe issues, one crash, 33kmpl avg, lot of adrenaline pumping performance from bike

                        need your advises on following-
                        1) Gears can be shifted(1,2) even without pressing clutch! is it common or what?
                        2) Not happy with rear view mirrors; every minute feel like adjusting the view. Is there any alternative mirrors (Duke200's mirror)? please suggest.
                        3) engine oil - can i go for motul 7100? have tried it in 2nd service & found improved performance. planning for a long trip, so which engine is best?
                        4) No punctures so far. Just to be cautious during long trip, I'm thinking of anti-puncture liquid. How effective is this?

                        Please suggest..

                          1. Clutchless shifts can be done but are harmful for the gearbox and should not be tried. The clutch lever is there for a reason.

                          2. You can try to change your riding stance and see if anything changes otherwise, the Duke 200 mirrors are helpful but not largely.

                          3. Yes you can go for Motul 7100, but if you were till now using Bajaj oil then I would suggest you to try Motul 5100 first, then shift to 7100.

                          4. Don't know about this.

                            1. I just observed this gear shift issue but not doing it intentionally. I always use clutch. I wanted to make sure whether it is an anomaly or a usual thing.
                            3. 1st & 3rd service - bajaj oil, 2nd service - motul 7100 used.

Sorry for the delay mates ..

First thing.. Youll need a pair of wires, solder gun, a 3 way toggle switch, a small pipe or tube ( to conceal the wires)
                              1. Solder the 2 separate wires ( in my case yellow and orange) to encircled points.. (or you can cut the sleeve of the rh and lh indicators wire and connect the wires)
These points are found at back side of the indicator switch.. for which you'll have to open the entire left hand switch assembly..

After soldering put back the assemble again and take wires out through the outlet along with main wiring.. And insert a tube or small pipe..

Like the one i am holding in above pic..

                              2. For switch connect one of the wires to middle point and other one to either of the side ( Imp:- any one wire has to be connected to middle point of switch)

You then have to solder the points to fix them permanently.. Or you can tape them of possible..

Place the switch where at your desired
                              place..

This where is placed it.. the switch fits in perfectly Between handlebar and brake oil container

                              On other hand..
Also changed the backlight color to white

I had desoldered the lcd from a experienced tv repairer and then after a week of practicing resoldering on a dead circuit board i gathered enough confidence to solder lcd back myself
