I'm in the same situation bro. ODO 6700, three services done. Service guys are ignoring the noises like anything. I heard engine sound of another 200ns (ODO 12000) and it was hell lot smoother than mine. I visited Bajaj Pro biking Gurgaon, they found timing chaing to be the culprit, i got that changed under warranty but still the noises are there, and getting worse day by day. I'm planning a visit today. I've mailed bajaj about the issue along with sound clip of Engine noises. Will update you accordingly. Btw the noises are coming from the upper part of the engine, more on right part.

Re: Pulsar 200ns - Crash guard
Hi friends,
It's been quite a while since I posted something here. Good to be back!!
In Feb 2012, I had a fall on my bike and the right side crash guard had bent. As a result the allen bolt and the grooves of both the bolt and the socket in the frame got damaged. During the last service, water got inside the trumpet horns and they stopped working (happens each time the bike is serviced). I had to remove the horns to clean them and in process the RH crash guard allen bolt broke in two with one half still inside the nut/socket. Upon my visit to the service, they told me I had to leave the bike for a day to have the plastics removed and the bike taken to a laith to remove the broken half of the bolt. But could not leave my bike there because of my daily commute to and from office using my bike.
Later, I closely inspected and found that the nut is fixed in a hole in the frame. Its located in between the part where the engine stays are fixed. So, I was wondering if there is a way to have that particular nut knocked out and replaced or taken to the laithe to have the broken bolt removed.

Bro take it a local fabricator he will do the job for you no need to take to service people.
I had same problem and svc ppl qouted me 300 rs to get nut out of the frame..
Whereas it took me only 120 rs to get nut out and bent guards fixed..

Re: Pulsar 200ns... giving problems... need urgent help.
Yes you are right. Some bikes are behaving differently and are not refined thus giving improper sound and vibrations from the engine. This is not a problem regarding engine oil. Even after using motul 5100 and 7100 problem remains as such. Its a manufacturing defect.
This I am saying after 2 years and 16000 km of experience with my NS which is behaving similarly. I have changed oils, got carburetor tuned many times, chain sprockets changed and air filter changed. But none worked. You should mail this to bajaj and get your bikes engine checked properly and replaced. And you will have to fight for this very aggressively with bajaj. Even I am doing same.

Most of the bikes are pretty smooth and no such noise comes from the engine.Originally posted by Hari Krishnan R View PostGuys im hearing some metalic sound like a bell rings frm cylinder. I think its tappet noise. I can only hear it when in idle and warmed up engine. Its not that loud but noticeable. So is it normal with all NS??
I can relate to noise you are talking about. Some rattling sound or as if sparks are going on inside the engine.

Re: Pulsar 200 NS Owners Review and Experiences
Got my bike serviced today...
It's way better now... Compared to what i had yesterday
.
The service center guy here at Lucknow, who i notice, does the servicing of most 200cc+ bikes (pulsars, avengers, dukes) seems a fairly trained and experienced one.
He explained... That it was the issue of engine oil...
After that...
Though it didn't seem as good as new... It was fine...
Now comes the disappointing part...
He also said...
U should not drive the bike over 65-70kmph.
Ohk.. Now what is the purpose of having a 200cc monster...
As suggested by me...
Avoid long distances in single runs on high speed...
This causes the engine to heat.. And its components to expand and loosen up..
A bit of wear and tear... And it leads to residue in engine oil...
and yeah... Aap sabki bike kitna deti hai? Mileage

Tried Speed 97 once. Not very special..But it was a little crisper with throttle inputs.. no big gains in power.. slightly better efficiency..
I think you'll notice a big difference only on the bigger engines.. Not worth the extra though.. I think Shell super does that job.. [it is 92 RON of course, not 97]Last edited by razr; 10-02-2014, 09:17 AM.

It is irritating.
The mechanics at bajaj couldn't find out the problem and asked me to ignore..
The other problem which is getting a cause of concern...
The engine noises.
The voice of the bike isn't the same as it was
.
My brother bought a new pulsar 200ns. And it sounds way smooth...
Is it an engine problem?
How can i solve it?
Oil change or the engine needs to be opened??
Most Vibration are from the console... You have to remove it completely and add some double sided tapes on places where two diff plastic rubs together..
If you have foot peg vibration, check your chain tension and also the mech to tight engine bed bolt, which is located in lower part of the frame...
even mine had similar issues, solved one issue at a time...
now my bike is 16k km done and its 1yr 3months old.. Still my bike feels as good as new... Slight vibration on pegs cos my chains have gone bad...
use either Motul 5100 or 7100.. And use one branded petrol at all time... dont switch bunks and petrol brand...
Also dont ever tune Carb on your own or ask your mech to do it... our Bike has bigger jet compared to older pulsars..
Bajaj uses a machine to tune them.. Ask at Service centre, they will do it for you....

Re: Pulsar 200ns... giving problems...
Hey all,
I am facing an issue with my bike. 2900 kms, 3 months old, 2nd service done!
My front wheel is kinda jumping (uneven ups & downs) while riding. This can be felt while riding at the handle bars and its very irritating and annoying.
I showed it to nearby mechanics. One told that there is a need to grease the handle, while other one told that its because of the wheel is unbalanced and he suggested me to get replace the front wheel and axle nut under warranty.
P.S. My bike was hit hard at 70+ speed in pothole, and the handle nut got loose.
Plz help me about this as this issue is really disturbing me everyday.
Secondly, during second service the guy top-up my engine while some red coloured engine oil, which, i doubt is not the recommended grade 20w50 oil for p200 NS. Whereas during first service the oil was yellowish in colour, Also the bajaj dtsi oil is also yellowish in colour. So will this reddish coloured oil harm my engine or is that ok? Should i replace it with bajaj oil?
