      • Mileage

        Hi Folks,

I know its kind of stupid question .. but I would like to know the mileage of the bike from the owners before and after first service. I would really appreciate any inputs on this..
The reason I want to know that, I heard that Bajaj had claimed 55KMPL on this.. so just wanted to know that if its true or just a rumour.
        Please gimme genuine numbers
If you have never done a mistake in your life, it means you have never tried anything new.

@dimpy: the mileage figures posted vary from 38-above 50. Think a retracing a few pages will help get the related posts. Cheers

a free advice from me.... Instead of thinking about the maximum mileage, always think of the lowest mileage you can leave with... 35 with mixed riding, 40 with sane and rip it hard and you are bound to get 30... Anything above 40 is a blessing for this beast... So settle for 35kmpl...thats what you'll get...

and the question remains why do i race?
every finishing line is the begining of a new race.

#i have learnt to manipulate my own adrenaline and the perception of biking is different.
              #overkill is underrated.
#how random roads may appear there is always a destination.sigpic
#i don't subscribe to co-incidence,either it is the rider or the other moron on the road

(:)people keeps on saying add spark to life, bajaj got hold of that idea and added an extra spark to bike.

after months of waiting finally bumblebee it is
went for a test drive today at kalyani bajaj, blore
it was a red bike for testing.
initially i was like is it me or is this baby small to look at.
but when i got on the saddle . then it struck me i'm a mr shorty the seats are wide so couldn't place both my feet firmly on the ground (tiptoe).
so i think this is a matter that i should get used to.
now the actual drive hit the ignition it came to life instantly nice sound too
then shifted to first gear and it slotted in very nicely. no harsh kadak sound like in previous pulsar's .. moved on when trying to go for second gear it fell to neutral but quickly shifted again to get second guess this happened because i'm used to fz's gear's
from then on i opened the throttle a bit to get comfortable and instantly was in love with the engine . its superbly refined couldn't even strain it a bit in my test run it pulls like heaven through out the rev range btw i did go only till 9k rpm in 3rd and 4th couldn try 5th because of traffic. as the speedo was down(not connected i guess) couldn say the exact speeds i reached but i think it reached 80's in very few seconds . it did handle nicely didnt feel any burden because of my height or the weight of the bike . its easily flickable in traffic. then i hit the brakes a bit to see how it slows down and the brakes are solid it gave excellent feedback. and in the last stretch i saw an empty road ahead i pinned the throttle a bit and this baby roared . loads of power through out the rev range there isnt a flat point any where. but maybe the initial push is missing as in my fz but after the initial few moments its super fun to ride the NS.
now for the downside of the ride did feel some vibrations creep in at higher rpm's near the tank area.but its isnt alarming . but one wont feel it as he would be preoccupied with the speed the bike is travelling at those moments. but not much vibrations on the handle bars as reported by few here , but it was there.
hate the panel gap between the rear seat and panel bajaj must fix this asap.
bajaj should have put in a better looking tyre at the rear it kills the overall looks of the bike . r15 v2 rear tyre might look sexy on NS...
but overall what a bike man \m/.
for the money its an absolute steal for the amount of technology that is incorporated into a bike that cost so less..
hats of to bajaj for making it so vfm.
now for the hard bit "WAITING".
maybe by wednesday i will have my bumblebee

now for the important bit to fellow owners and future owner of ns.
i think i need to remember this everymoment i ride this bike.
with this kind of power come's great responsiblity as mentioned by MG sir one should know his limits and should not be a danger to himself and other humans around him.
                  ride safe BROTHERS .
what is your height dude ?? sorry to ask you

They should have told about somebody who is not an Av. sized Rider. . How about someone with 98KGs of Flesh and Bones, with 6.1ft . lolz

One thing they mentioned was that - Its tyres are not upto the mark, particularly for sharp turns and stuff. If one wants to make the bike nearly perfect after the purchase, it is a good idea to change the tyres.

It seems to be more of a requirement than a luxury.
One more thing that needs to be known is - How convenient it is to replace the horn? We now know that the horn quality in NS is an absolute let down too.
@extremerocker00 : mate, the Eurogrip tyres are not that bad. For daily commuting, it should be good. If you are really the distant cousin of Valentino Rossi, then as some members suggested, go for Pirelli or else the stock FZ front and R15 V2 rear is the perfect match. They are soft/medium compound tyres and are considerably good for cornering.
And as for the horn modification, it will void your warranty.

i went to SVC in KR puram bangalore. the engineer dosent know anything about the bike and he told the oil level is at the minimum..
he recommended to take the bike to another SVC in Kasturba road going there..
will the warranty be void if i do the service in Pro-bikibg SVC??
Mate, you can get your Bajaj bike serviced from any Bajaj authorized service center. Probiking should be more experienced and should do a considerably better job than the normal dealers.

pics from right side of the pipe

Its due to the touch of black paint that you see black area.

pics from left side of the pipe

But, since the touch was not done on the left side, you can see that its the brown patch coming up. Earlier it was very less, but the area has increased now.

Guys, i have shown them this issue right on the first service day. On that day, i was not aware of what should be done for the same, so i allowed them for the touch up with black paint. But i posted the same, Chintan said that why you allowed them to do so. Its under waranty and you should get it replaced. But, i find these guys very reluctant. Till date they are not serious about it, i showed them today also and they again asked me to get a touch of paint. But i refused today. Is this under waranty? Will it be replaced or it will remain like this only.
I cannot see the pics as I am reading this in office, but yes, that does come under warranty. If the service center are not taking it seriously, email the Customer Care people of Bajaj mentioning th edetails like Chassis No., Engine No., Date of Purchase, Dealer/Service Center name and address, your location and the job they have done. Attach pics of the exhaust and mention the activities they have performed on your bike.

                        • Paid the full amount yesterday at KLN, Anna Nagar, Chennai. But was disappointed to hear that all the red ones have already been booked , even though i was the first one in the showroom to have pre-booked the bike . They have assured me that the next batch will come by this month-end. So hoping to get it. Fingers Crossed.. Others are available, but am set on the red
