Just completed 250kms today folks.
Had the oil filter and oil changed at 150km.

I have been keeping the speed below 50kph with the appropriate gears, but yes i have done some speed bursts to about 70kph, never maintained that speed just bursts.

And the fuel meter came down to the last bar today, lets see what distance it can cover before i have to switch on the reserve, and make out how much mileage i m getting.

Seat is really comfy, seating position is really good too, one can definitely do some serious cruising on this bike, although the gearing makes it alittle difficult in the city.

Also i have been facing a little issue with the gearbox, the upshifts are good but sometimes it jist refuses to downshift, however if i release the cluch a little bit, it starts shifting again any idea how to rectify this.
Also everytime i shift i get this clunky sound from the gearbox, even when i shift to 1st gear from neutral, plz help me on this one.

Its fine, the gearbox will be a little tight in the beginning. It will loosen up after some time.. Youll have to struggle in the meantime, though..

I completely agree wit you on that. I tried it once today and it was just lovely. I was scared to try it again and again fearing my bikes performance. And i also noticed that the front disk gets tooo hot even for a very short ride. Is it normal?

Get the bike on a pedestsl stsnd or a main stand if you have one... put pressure on the back so thr front wheel is off the ground... give it a spinn.. if it spinns freely your good to go... if not your brake calliper pistons are not releasing properly or can be some other issue as well ranging from bent rims to adjust issues or even dust on the pads! check and let us know... disc is supposed to get hot.. but if it spinns freely then its cool...

150km oil change is a weee early... stick to minerals and a good bit of engine braking 500km 1000 km 1500km and then every 1000 to 2000 km oil change intervals plus minus 500 here and there depending on oil is the way to go..
Theres a magnetic filter on the drain bolt.. clean that as well. Also gearbox is a bit harsh initially... ride along dont stay too long a particular gear and do engine braking on all gears... will help the gears mate it. also let your tappets be a little loose if they already are dont tighten them for the first 1000kms... clutch adjustment if needed go ahead.
Hope it helps

The wheel does spin freely. I cleaned off any dust on pads too. I will see if it improves. The rear seems to be working fine. I also need to check if i have a habit of putting pressure on the brake lever while riding. But anyways thanks for your input Divyansh.

Real thanks for the information, divyansh and razr.

I did the oil change to get rid off the engine silvers from the system, and yes i did stick to mineral( will keep usin it till 2000 will switch to semi syth afterwards), infact atm its the same dtsi 10k.

Will switch to a mineral oil from motul 3000on my first service.

The dealership from which i bought my ns put on some 'free' hand grips...and damn these grips are so friggin hard....riding in the city is such a pain..gonna get em removed tomorrow.

Hello,
After I had my 2nd servicing, i changed the engine oil to Motul 5100 and my bike does feel smoother than before...But since then my bike has possessed me I guess.. I redlined my bike bike in 1st and 2nd gear and that felt soooo good that now i am riding my bike everyday revving high (7-8K)...so will my desire for high revv do any bad to the engine in long run..Just a concern as everyone praises the engine of this bike ....my odo is 3000kms currently and i have been revving high for nearly 500 kms now?? and the tyres , do they really suck?? in wet conditions they rarely grip, its so slippery i am scared to ride fast in wet conditions...Dunlop or mrf or ceat which one would be better for better all round grip???

Go to this thread for the tyres bro everyone has shared so much info. Now the tyres suck...period. redlining All day is not good for anything.. imagine you are made to perform at peak performance for prolonged periods...parts of your body will start to give up... instead take it like a marathon runner... will last you longer... keep things smooth and dont redline.

Redlining the engine everyday! that's not good man not for you and particuclarly not for the engine, obviously it will give your adrenalin a rush but ride the bike properly, riding fast is one thing and riding rash is another.

broken87 : Thanks bro for solving my prob by posting those pics... This ride height issue was constantly pissing me off everyday i ride my NS..
I think SparKot is right.. its a kind of optical illusion..tht the left NS always luks higher than the right one...
anyways, the SVC replaced the monoshock with new one under warranty...feels softer thn earlier one which was bit stiffer & better!!

Another issue m facing right now is abt the rear disk brake..
the brakes r contantly rubbing the disks while riding, making whinning noise which is quite audible and noticable at speed of 30-40 kmph.. coz of tht i can feel the vibrations at my right foot which is quite irritating...
svc guy rubbed the brake pads on sand paper bt no difference...
Also i found tht the brake piston is not retracting back into the caliper after removing the foot from brake pedal...its kinda stuck in the caliper..which is causing the brake pads to rub on the disk constantly...
Is there any way to get rid of this problm..?? plz help!
(P.S. plz dont suggest to visit SVC again as m not happy with there service anymore...those guys knw nothing abt NS..bad experience wit thm.. )

My mileage figures were tested in city ONLY.

I tried two methods.
One: full tank to full tank method. I would tank up to the brim, ride for 100 km and tank up again, at the same petrol bunk. I used this method for three bunks. Each time I've filled for around 170-180 rupees worth petrol. That's 45 km/l on an avg, do the math.
Two: Empty to empty method. I would carry a bottle containing 50 bucks worth petrol. As soon as the bike would shut off, i'd empty the bottle into the tank, refill the bottle for future use and ride on till the bike shuts off again. Each time the trip meter would record 28-32 km before shutting off. Once again when you do the math, it comes out to be 48 km/l avg.

Riding style: 1 minute idle during cold starts atleast twice a day, below 4k rpm for first 4 km after a cold start, very conservative throttle, slow increase in acceleration, max rpm touched: 7k in gears 3-6. Average speed approx 60 km/h. Flat out acceleration: not even once.
This is NOT how a 200cc performance engine has to be ridden but city limits do not allow me to open the throttle fully. I'm sure I will manage around 40 km/l cruising at 120 km/h and upto 45 km/l maximum while cruising at 100 km/h. But this is to be seen.

Bike is 30k kms old. And yes, it was tuned at Race concepts 15k kms ago. Not major mods though, intake & exhaust ports have been polished and it runs on a stock replacement filter & 117.5 mainjet. Gives 220-like mid range torque and that's the range I've normally ridden at during the above tests. Sprocket ratio is stock now. Too many problems with the swapped front sprocket. It simply wouldn't gel with the engine and gearbox due to a free play on the gearbox drive shaft.
