Good going mate i had done the same to my brother's R15. Dismantled whole fairing and put seals made from an old tube. The vibs were nearly gone after that. Yoh would love the smoothness.

    Ride safe and have fun.

Enjoyed 250 km ride on my NS. Top speed touched- 125 km/h. Avg speed was 80- 90 km/h. Did third service on 4600km, engine oil used Moutul 5100 15w50, oil filter was also changed. Previously i complained about engine harshness even after engine oil changed to Moutul 5100. I guess the culprit was oil filter. Actually i failed to find a new oil filter at that time and had to settle with the old filter and bike was harsh even after oil change. Now the bike is super smooth even after using high rpm for non stop 150 km in 40 degree temperature. Overall my bike is now vibe free, harshness free and smooth.

One more thing i want to suggest.Do lubricate and tighten chain periodically for even a smoother and better ride experience.

And thats why its so important to change the oil filter!
Ps, did you hae to put extra oil since the filter was new or you soaked the filter before hand, because I suppose it will soak some and the oil level will drop

          Parts removed for vibration damping:
          1. Headlamp assembly, further split up into its individual parts. What I observed. One holder is cut. Superglue to the rescue!
          2. Tank, again split up into individual parts.
          3. Rear seat cowl + black undercowl.
          4. Side panels. These are of very poor quality indeed. Very fragile. One pull and a holder splits clean from the panel and now its useless.

Parts to be further removed for vibration damping:
          1. Footpeg assemblies (front and rear). The flipping mechanism of the rear footpegs need replacement.
          2. Handlebar. Just removing and reinstalling. No fancy work there!

Materials used for vibration dampening: double sided tape, old tyre tubes, lots of glue, feviquick, superglue and maybe something more if i realise the need on the spot.

          Other works to be done:
          1. The bike has suffered two accidents over its life, both to the left. As a result, the bar & holder for the left tank extension is bent.
          2. The radiator was replaced after the last accident. Job not done well. The radiator is kinda inclined at an angle to the right. The upper and lower holders for the radiator have been re-used and they need straightening too.
          3. Clutch and throttle cable replacement. This is a piece of cake.
          4. Air filter cleaning. Needs a compressor or a vacuum cleaner.
          5. Chain tightening and lubing.

All these works are gonna be done at home. As a college student this is gonna help me save some money and, I'd get to explore deeper into the bike. Oh did I mention, tomorrow is the first day of my semester holidays and this is how I celebrate

No, i didn't do that. I put 1200 ml oil and then took bike for a spin and then topped up the oil a little bit so that the oil level came close to the max mark.

              Thanks brothers for the replies
Can u guys tell me what do i have to check for the reasons for the harsh behaviour of engine. I really want that smooth crisp engine sound which i rode in an other bike.
And can guys tell me any good mechanic or svc in bangalore who understands the problems in our bike.

                  Hi fellow bikers,

I havent been too active on this thread but have been follwing it religiously. just wanted to share a recent incident which occurred with my red NS 2 days ago and how I went about countering it.

My bike was parked in my apartment's garage and some painting work was going on in another part of the parking. In the evening some painted pieces of grill were kept next to my bike by the very logically sound workers. By next morning the entire bike, and I mean the entire bike was literally peppered with small white paint dots.

You can imagine my horror! After the hell raising was done and over with I gave it a thorough wash and rubbed it well, however as I had assumed it didnt work. I tried something else then. I used the same polish the workers use after painting the grills and furniture (i think it was a thinner) on the rear cowls first to test if it worked and also to see if it caused any adverse effects on the paint. Miraculously the thinner got the specs of paint out and also worked as a pretty decent polish. It took me close to 2 hours but I was able to get all the dried paint off the bike! The black fibre parts and the console were the toughest to clean. Also the paint is bright as ever!

Just wanted to share this with anyone who might encounter such a problem in the future.

Today i retune my carb.. Now its adjust at 5 turns feeling smooth engine response.
Earlier i tired 3 turn then i check CO level its 7.
Then i retune it and adjust at 4 turn not happy with mileage.
                      Then tired 4.5 good setting.
Anywhere 3.5-4.5 turns bike performe realy well and optimal setting. Lets see how its going to performe at 5 turns..
Any one here to share his inputs..!!

                        Hey guys!
Got my first bike yesterday. The bike is real masterpiece. Sorry for the low quality pics.

P.S- When riding around 4.5-5k rpm even a very small change in the throttle immediately takes it to 7-8k rpm, something wrong with the tachometer??

First of all congrats on the new ride. Take real good care of it. And it will serve u well. Secondly nothing is wrong with the tacho. Your Idle RPM settings are set at high. You need to re adjust it. If you are not familiar on how to retune do not do it ,as you might mess up things. Just take it to the SVC and ask them to do it. Cheers.

Take your bike for a ride and then observe the idle rpm. If it is near 2k then locate a black colored plastic screw on the right of bike and start rotating it to decrease the rpm to 1.4k. Do it yourself because idle rpm sometimes fluctuates and you can't go to SVC every time for such a small task.

And you don't need any screw driver to adjust the rpm.

Is it necessary cut the fuel supply off each time I stop the bike? and I'm getting frequent false neutrals, any idea to avoid it?
