I could never have a bad feelings towards Pulsars bhai .. they're way too good for that ... Me and Pulsars can be likened to a couple in love .. they fight but they're still together .. now waiting for the CS which the dealer has assured me would be delivered to me post verification of the VIN by me. hahaha !

          Hi everyone,
I am currently using 2014 model Bajaj Pulsar 200NS red and black dual tone.
For 2 years, I have been using this bike for going to my college. That is, daily riding a total of 40-45 kms of very bad, bumpy road conditions with almost full of rough patches and potholes.
Now I am suffering from a severe lower back pain due to bone disc dislocation and am now undergoing treatment.
I just wanted to know whether any of you are suffering from Backpain problems like me because of using this bike. I had tuned the rear monoshock suspension many times and is now in the softest position. Still it's action is very hard and the ride is very bumpy. Even riding over small potholes/rough patches is very jerky.
Is this common in all 200NS bikes?

I'm also suffering form back pain nowadays because of our Monoshock. Tried various hard and soft setting but no improvement. Don't know what to do. Odo at 50k.

My ODO is only at 15k. I used to have backpain frequently and thus for weeks I used to stay away from my bike.

Sorry to hear about your situation. I am a physiotherapist so i am aware with your condition. And being the owner of a NS myself... I agree with you that the rear suspension is a little on the stiffer side. But to have a condition like you do (Prolapsed Inter Vertebral Disc Prolapse or PIVD), the condition of the road must have been real bad or you must have hit a pot hole at a considerable speed. Many of the riders doing 50kms or more in one go might have some soreness but i doubt them having a pivd. I would advise you to take a break from riding and find an alternate and a less straining mode of transport for the time being or else your condition may deteriorate. Good luck

                  Hi sir,
Thanks a lot for the reply.
Yes, I have decided to take a long break and also have decided to use my bike only on good roads.
After all, I believe health is wealth.
                  Feeling hopeful.

I am just 23 years old. No need to call me sir. Almost your age if am not wrong. Just take all the necessary precautions like not lifting heavy weights and maintaining a good posture. Look up on google and find a few exercises that can strengthen your lower back. Hope to see you up and running soon

First of all apologies for your condition, refrain from using this bike now, use a car .
i had posted a comparison between monoshock and twin shock in cbz thread.
Monoshocks are track inspired setup , its primary reason is to keep C.G in center and lower the mass of bike.
This feature made its way to commuter segment , but people didnt understand that its not meant for us.
This setup gives stiff ride , that is required while racing to get maximum feedback from track and adjust throttle position to gain maximum exit speed.
Also monoshock gives better lean angles.

None of this is useful for us , how much are you going to use its lean angle benefit ?

Twin shock is still the best setup when it comes to bad road conditions, drive any twin shock bike and see the difference.
Carb Tuning made easy (Thanks Sibun !)

Not necessary that monoshock is meant to be stiff.. Look at cbr250r honda 650f ninja650 or even the new discover st125 i presume.. They have monoshock but ride is supple more planted and stable compared to twin shock ones..
It all boils down to how the suspension is set..
On ns adjust monoshock to softer side you'll notice the difference but you'll lose out on stability at high speeds and in corners it'll be bouncy ..

But Honda Unicorn and Yamaha FZ comes with Monoshock suspension. Both are by far the best bikes that offers superior comfort over bad roads.

Who said ? Super Splendor feels much more planted on rough roads than unicorn , i have unicorn and its suspension is crap.

Even i own a super splendour and have used unicorn side by side.. I feel both to be same on bad roads..
Strange maybe your rear shock on unicorn might be set to harder side..
And apart from suspension your tyres and tyre pressure also play a role in ride quality..
