Also I forgot to mention that in 1st service (done at ~600 km and now have ~1130 km on odo) they filled 1.43 ltr of engine oil ( as mentioned in the bill) . When I asked them about it they told me that extra is for soaking of oil filter. I thought they are trying to make money so mentioned 1.43 instead of 1.2 and making excuses but it seems they have really filled more, thats why engine oil is well above the max mark. :banghead: .

Btw is it really necessary to put some extra oil to soak the filter?. If yes then how much?

Write it to Bajaj Customer care about this!
Surely you will get a feed back and action. Catch them on FB as well.

Regarding engine oil and oil filter. One should know what his bike is and how capable it is.
There are foxes out to tear you apart!! It's your duty how wisely you can tackle.
For oil filter nothing is required so called "Extra ml of oil" in your case they charged you with 200ml extra as mentioned by you.

Check the new bikes in other showroom and check out the OEMs of your bike then shoot the mail to Bajaj customer contact.

i would like a little advice...
the SVC here in Bharuch,Gujarat do not help at all even after repeatedly complaining(with previous problems)

      The Problem:
1.The engine coolant temperature high indicator(the thermometer symbol on the Instrument Console) started showing up on the Nov 2nd
immediately brought bike back home and checked it.
found that someone had tampered with the rubber gasket on the engine(left side bottom) resulting in leaking of oil on the engine
the engine oil level was very near to the bottom of the window
engine coolant level was midway between min and max markers
2.That day as i parked my bike, the radiator fan stayed on even after killing the engine.had to stop it by fiddling with the key position(this has happened twice before...i couldnt replicate it again so left it at that)
3.the radiator fan started immediately as soon as i started the engine again.

I then proceeded to give the bike at the SVC for checking
they topped up the engine oil and did some minor adjustments(brake, chain etc)
they did not fix the gasket saying that they didnt have spares
i told them about the high temperature indicator. they said that it is a problem with the sensor (i highly doubt so)

would anyone please help me out?
i have clocked 4200kms on my 200ns and am planning to go for a long drive soon(about 1500kms)
i just dont want my bike to fail me in between

do any of you have problems with the radiator fan staying on even after killing the engine?
do any of you have problems with the temperature sensor?(i dont think a temp. sensor can fail so easily..especially when i think it detected the temperature properly on Nov 2nd)or should i complain to Bajaj Customer Care again(complained twice already regarding previous problems..no change in attitude of SVC..no other SVC also nearby)

      would kindly appreciate any help

      Thanks,
      a newbie

how do u know it was used front disc ? Front disk of my NS was also changed as the original one was causing tyre jamming. When they put that new Front Disc in, it really didn't look like brand new out of the box. I didn't ask a question though..

Going to purchase Yellow 200ns tomorrow, was actually waiting for 200ss/375.. Got enough of waiting and decided to get 200ns instead.
            Current owner of a 2012 p220F

I have few doubts to clear, please bear with me

            1. Should I change the tyres from day1, cause I have some spare cash left
Was unable to find soft compound front tyres. Anyway please suggest some names which costs b/w 2.3k to 3.5k(front tyre only)
Found mrf rev zs for the rear(Yamaha r15 v2)
So my question is would changing only the rear tyre helps to reduce skidding? Does it alter the handling in anyway(as im changing the rear only)
How Long does the tyre last - both Stock n MRF rev zs

            2. If I install a center stand does it scrape the road? My 220 does that every single time and I hate it

            3. Going to install a additional horn from bajaj itself, does it drain the battery?

            4. I have asked this question, but I need more clarification
I tried sitting sideways on the pillion seat, I was able to keep my right leg on the foot-rest, but my left leg was hanging, couldn't keep on the saree guard. Then how can my mother sit on the rear seat if she wears a SAREE

            5. Should I go for Motul oil on the first service or Bajaj oil

Centre stand is very necessary and it will not affect cornering as there is already space made for centre stand.only to be fitted.

About sarree guard. The showroom guys said nothing available in bajaj. Try jc road. They have few that may fit. My wife said she will manage so I dint get it. My mom is also used to without sarree guard biking with dad's old rtz.. Motul 5100 is what usually they put at auto service banashankari. Bajaj oil is not bad comparitively. Additional horn should be ok. Stock will last about 25k kms. If u don't do much stunts. I suggest you save that money and ride with stock. I am very much comfortable and in control with stock as well... maintain proper air in tyres then all tyres do a pretty good job.

Don't fiddle with the radiator fan.
Radiator fans do run even after engine is off, but gets off soon in few minutes.
And yes once you on the keys and if your engine temp is not at prominent level then it get on as indicated, If not then it gets on as soon as desired temp level is raised.

You won't find any major upgrade!

Try to get it exchanged with other model ones, Tyre shop will give you decent price for it.
But before exchanging get the really cost of it and bargain. Don't take it simply what he offers.

Mostly Yes! A better tyre with better profile grip are best plant on roads. Additionally the way you handle. any many other factors*
Why don't you look for Duke's rear tyres? They are same INMO, correct me please.

I would suggest don't go for center stand. (Had owned R15 for 3.3 yrs)

This problem won't solve untill you install a saree guard with foot rest.
Now a days These performance bikes are not getting saree guards with foot rest.

Had read in this thread itself few of the bajaj's SVC where using Motul.
If your svc don't then use the stock oil for some 3-5K and then try to go for your choice of oil.
I kept using Stock oil for my R15 from past 3.3 yrs. no complains. But Yes some oils are best than stocks.

Well, after test riding I didnt FELT any increase in power, but the no.s were going faster n smoother without the raw GRUNT that 220 provides. Handling was waaaaay better. but still it lacks the EXHAUST note
I still want to take P375, but I dont think I would able to maintain it also cant wait till it launches

One more doubt about tyres, ie If i change rear tyre to r15 v2 rear tyres(mrf rev zs) n use stock eurogrip front tyres, doesn't the bike's proportion changes? will it affect the handling negatively due to some height change ?(noob question indeed). whats the life of mrf rev zs- 17k kms?

Has anyone figured out yet the real cause of vibrations occuring only in 4-5 k rpms,

After 4 mo tha of using the bike without any vibrations, one day my friend fell off the bike, he was at a speed of around 30 kmph, now after that the vibrations has started.
This surely means there is some part that is causing the vibrations. Anyone figured out yet?

upadte: got my RVMs changed. and now as i am opening the bike it becomes smoother after 4k rpm. Also got the excess oil drained at ASC. Eagerly waiting to complete the 2k mark. FE- 44 kmpl mostly ridden under 60 kmph in the city and around it. Vibrations and engine roughness are there, sometimes felt sometime not, didn't felt them much once past ~55 kmph till 80 kmph ( didn't do more extensively). The suspensions are stiff, rear one often transfers the undulations of the road to the back.

The problem is that the 300V has the grade of 15w50. But the SVC guys themselves sell Motul 5100 which has grade 15w50

As said by many R15 V2's rear tyre is the best known replacement for 200NS. You will only lose bike's flickability but gain far superior grip.
I kind of rememeber.. no offense but weren't you a HONDA fan ?
Exhaust note is subjective. I feel people who say it sounds like a scooter & not grunty haven't heard it well. Hear it ripping down an empty street. It's unique and next gen.. like it's made for this single cylinder 200cc street fighter.

No, Center stand in NS does not interfere at all in everyday cornering with the bike leaning down nicely. It may however at extreme lean angles which isn't possible to do on stock tyres and unpredictable Indian roads. Center stand also is hardly noticeable so it doesn't spoil the look.
It appears prior to it's release the 200NS thoroughly tested at the Chakan Track had prefitted Center stands. There are many pictures on web showing Center stands fitted.
