Story is almost a year old, last year January when Kalindi Kunj to Noida bridge was blocked for repairing but opposite side was working. I chose the blocked side to commute till bridge to avoid traffic thinking that i will change my lane after reaching bridge. The pothole was more then 6 inch deep in on clean road which became visible to me when i was just a few meters away from it and was running more then 75 KMPH on ODO. I applied brake but then released immediately to avoid crashing. I hit the pot hole but my stars were on good side that day as bike didn't fall off. But this broke the rear alloy rim in such a way that the Tyre was flat within a second. The front alloy was also having a crack but was able to run.

I myself was not able to believe how i escaped as i myself was expecting something big. That was the day when i first cursed the head lights of NS.

teotia001 good luck man, so I just want your review, as you dealt with speed+pothole+conditions, how will you rate the quality of 200ns rims...? (0-10)
Also guy's, today rode a brand new 220,180 and man seriously, Ns is way out of league in terms of quality..!!

Where in Assam are you located? Highway Bajaj of Jorhat has 200NS in stock. I just came from there a couple of hours earlier.

Do not spread myth, there is no such function of alloy wheels, they break because Bajaj gets crappy rims made by crappy company, that's all. A breaking alloy wheel will pose more danger than it helps by absorbing the impact. So no more spreading myth.

Sorry if f I had said anything against your" honour".
Alloy rims shouldn't break on speeds like 80-90 + a pothole scenarios, yes it's a quality defect.
But God forbid, when the bike collides with any solid object such as a car, wall etc at speeds over 100kmph, then alloy spikes acting as a stress absorbing member, takes out a major amount of shock waves that travel through the front tyre.
Yes, it's not a "characteristic feature" but that's how they work
Fun fact, spoke wheels (those on cycles, old cbz ) are far better than alloy wheels in terms of performance and costs.
Sorry again mighty Cleaner, if I made any mistake against your honour.

Yeah, they have it, the only 200NS here are of new color scheme, I saw the following yesterday, red black, blue black, white black. But I suggest you wait a month, FI 200NS is coming I think.

I already know about the rigidity of spoke wheels, that's why they are used in dirt bikes. Well, there ain't no goddamn way alloy rims break on impact in any scenario. So just forget it, I am going to mail KTM regarding this, especially asking if this is a feature.

Friends.. finally i got my NS' front Tyre change to Michelin PILOT Sporty tubeless.

I was down with confidence on my NS for hard braking and gravel or wet road conditions.

I don't know if this change is going to help me by increasing performance of braking but yes there a lot of increase in my confidence level after comparing the 2 Tyre.

Hope this is change will be positive.

Tyre Cost: Rs.1630/- (Purchased from Bafarpur, New Delhi)

See i did some research on Aftermarket/free flow exhausts. The options available for duke 200 is a direct fit since the backpressure and angle is approximately same. But good aftermarket exhaust start from 15k and goes up to akrapovics which sell for around 30k in india. So this area of upgradation is insanley expensive.
The guy at pardesi ofcoarse didnt had any of these but the exhausts he has is pretty decent (flow wise) and it started from 250rs to 7k .
I got one for 4.5k ,sexy looking, short and perfectly built exhaust. The difference is instantly felt and even more so if you have k&n installed like i have. The vibrations are reduced insanely and now the bike feels even more vibration free(using motul 5100 engine oil also helped, but this time vibes reduced seriously till 7.5-8k rpm ).But now the most important thing -The fly in the ointment is the pathetic sound.I mean ofcoarse the sound has amplified low end but in technical audio terms with stock exhaust and good aftermarkets like akropovic the sound is normalized, but with all the exhaust i tested the sound breaks with a little bit of throttle(to be more specific -ehaust sound bohot jaldi fatt jata hai, doesnt feel contained.).It sounds close to a mechanics loose silencer wala scooter (get the idea?).So all in all i am not at all happy with sound but am really happy with the performance and reduced vibrations

Wohaa, 4.5k on.exhaust. ..
You have a big heart and pocket.
When.I was in karol bagh, a guy in different shop brought a exhaust for 3k(fitting included) ,don't know any specs or it was a improving spec type, but man, when I pulled the throttle (he requested to ride my r15 and I his ns) what a lovely sound, but sadly I've heard so much of inline 4 sounds (on YouTube, and recently z1000R ) that now even a duke390 exhaust sound doesn't attracts me, just waiting for the day when I'll be having a big league beast.

Yes there are a lot of exhaust with good sounds in 4-5k price range, but i needed a proper free flow. And trust me i tested sounds for 3 different good free flow exhaust and came to the conclusion that a good free flowing exhaust never sound good if its not an akrapovic or the likes
, because when there is a lot of air exiting the exhaust note is bound to get fuzzy. And so to get the balance between high flow and good exhaust note a lot of bike specific engineering is required which ofcoarse, costs money
