  • Re: Pulsar 200 NS Owners Review and Experiences

I have a pretty generic query.
After my second to last servicing around 2 months back, I have been observing that the ride has gone harder.
Also, a friend of mine who regularly was a pillion on my bike was saying that the height of pillion seat is up by a little bit.
My issue is can i get the suspension readjusted to a slightly softer setting..? and can it be done at home or a service center...?

I had my bikes suspension adjusted to a bit more softer setting after first service...i felt the suspension was bit on a harder side..so had to do that...you can do it from the service center..won't take much time...and i guess they didn't charge me for that..

              1. Which is better 3100, 7100 or 300V?
Please only use mineral oil till 10000Km's. So i guess 3100 would be the best for you.
The rest of the answer is Given Below.

That You will have to check in Delhi itself. Check for Prices Online, preferably EBAY for a better Idea.

              4. Where should i buy the oil filter from i.e. from SVC or local shop?

I know most of the answers would have been answered previously. But could find the answers as there are many pages on the forum.

              Engine Oil change:
Engine oil Compatible grade is: 20W50.
Please beware of Local dealers. They do try to stick 15w40 instead of 20w50 and I really Don't know why.
Bajaj DTSI: Absolute piece of CRAP. Probably responsible for all vibrations and bad performance. hardly lasts for 1k km's...:P
Motul 3100 20W50: Mineral. Compatible and usable from first service onwards. Please use Mineral oil till 10K.
Motul 5100 20W50: Semi synthetic. High Performance engine oil. perfectly compatible from 10k Km onwards.Perfectly fine upto 3k Kms.
              Motul 7100 20W50: Fully synthetic.Performance and features slightly better than 5100. Stretchable upto 3.5 to 4 k kms. Retails at 730. MRP:805.
Motul 300V : Overkill for a bike with engine capacity of NS. It's track level oil for engine capacity greater than 300cc.
Motul Suffers from stock issues every now and then. In that case, you can look at
Valvoline 4T20w50 Synthetic blend. Performance is similiar to Motul 5100 but the draining intervals are shorter.
Castrol gtx is also a good substitute.

Please note I do not have any experience with Valvoline and Castrol. The experience I have shared are opinions from this thread itself.( And a little help from Mr. Google).

2 bottles of Oil will be needed as the oil required is 1.2-1.3 litres.
Oil filter: 1 In No. is also needed. For NS, it retails at 70. KTM's oil filter is also compatible and retails around 90-100 bucks.
              Oil Ring: 1 in No.

Thanks for the info I would change to Motul 3100 and after 10,000 kms, would go for semi synthetic oil.

                  Also there is another query.

How do you clean and lube the chain? What do you use? And should it be cleaned after every 500 kms?

I use Motul chain lube. And cleaning and then lubing chain is an overstatement.
The main point is it should be clean and dry.
For cleaning, I usually use a cloth to wipe it first, followed by watering. Then i let it dry and lube it.
I know its not the best method, but it works and that's enough for me.
And for good life of chain sprocket, It's advised to lube after every 500Km's.
For more detail, you can refer to any Self help video posted by experts.

Use the cleaning spray first. Then use a cloth to wipe the chain. Then use lube spray. I use there on road motul ones both cost mrp 1070. I got them for 700.

Use a pressurized pipe to water down first from chain, then use tvs chain spray.
                          Motul chain spray isn't vfm

Don't try to fix me, I'm broke so I don't work

You can use Motul 5100 20W50 , as Bajaj DTSI oil itself is semi synthetic.
Bike comes with Semi Synthetic oil to begin with, so why wait till 10,000kms
