Re: Pulsar 200 NS Owners Review and Experiences
Fill the radiator first, (don't close the radiator cap) start the engine and run at idling. Any bubbles will rise up. If coolant level goes down, add more coolant. When coolant level is steady for a minute, stop the engine, close the radiator. Fill the container to required level.Originally posted by rohanm123 View PostLast edited by krixna; 01-13-2016, 11:40 AM.

Re: Pulsar 200 NS Owners Review and Experiences
Hi moto brothers!
Please help with this few questions...
I want to change chain on DID 428VX. Does it fit? What lenght do I need to buy? 108 links?
Is windshield from Pulsar 200AS fit to our motorcycle?
Does anyone know where I can buy spare parts online? I tried to write a bunch of dealers from http://www.bajajauto.com/ , but noone didn't answer.
This store http://www.99rpm.com/bajaj/parts.html will open in February, but I want to have another variant.
Thanks.Last edited by alexus_l; 01-13-2016, 03:21 PM.

You're talking about the 428VX I think. What about matching sprockets? You have to get sprockets to match the new chain!Originally posted by alexus_l View PostHi moto brothers!

The present chain is 520, ie, pitch is 5/8 inch. Pitch of the new one is 4/8 inch, ie, half inch. To get number of links, count the number of links in the present chain, multiply by 5 and divide by 4. Say you have 100 links now. Links required for the new chain would be 100*(5/4), ie, 125 links, to get the same length. Also, this calculation is correct only if the new sprockets you are going to use are of same diameter as the present ones. Else, chain length will be a few links +/- depending on how bigger/smaller your new sprockets are.
Windshield from AS fits, but requires some minor drilling for extra screws...two, maybe.

Yes, sorry I made a mistake 428VX is correct.
I am going to order the same sprockets - 14/39. I can't count links on current chain cuz my bike in another town in winter.

What i did yesterday was, i emptied the coolant reservoir, changed the coolant hose as it was damaged, later filled the Coolant reservoir to the Max level.
Unfortunately after idling the bike for sometime and few intermittent acceleration...the coolant started pouring through the over drain pipe. This emptied the reservoir completely. On refilling the reservoir to the mid range...i see today morning the coolant reservoir is emptied again. What could be the reason?

Re: Pulsar 200 NS Owners Review and Experiences
There is air in the radiator, bro. Air expands fast and pushes out. Your fan will turn on more often because air in the radiator does not offer cooling! Coolant reservoir is empty after the engine cools because whatever is in the radiator (coolant or air), it shrinks on cooling and sucks in what is in the reservoir. Your problem can't be solved by filling up the reservoir. You have to open the radiator cap and do as I mentioned before.Originally posted by rohanm123 View PostWhat i did yesterday was, i emptied the coolant reservoir, changed the coolant hose as it was damaged, later filled the Coolant reservoir to the Max level.

Re: Pulsar 200 NS Owners Review and Experiences
If you order same number of teeth, both sprockets will be smaller, because the pitch is half inch now. So you can minus 2-3 links from what you get in the calculation for chain length. Also, be warned beforehand! 14T 428 being a smaller size sprocket, the chain may rub your swingarm, even when tight. Not sure about that. The present chain itself runs very close.Originally posted by alexus_l View PostThank you!

Re: Pulsar 200 NS Owners Review and Experiences
I did the above as well...waited for about 5mins at 2000rmp idling....den caped the reservoir.. And the engine still ON..was servicing the chain...and the coolant drainage repeats...what should i do now? When i walk into Pulsar service stn...first thing they say is we need to disassemble everything to understand the issue....Originally posted by krixna View PostThere is air in the radiator, bro. Re: Pulsar 200 NS Owners Review and Experiences
After filling the radiator, fill the reservoir only up to HALF mark. The rest of the gap is for coolant to fill up when it gets hot. It will be sucked back into the radiator on cooling. Also, you should be using a 50-50 mixture of coolant and water. If you use coolant alone, it vaporizes very quick on heating, because it contains ethylene glycol (a kind of alcohol).Originally posted by rohanm123 View PostI did the above as well...waited for about 5mins at 2000rmp idling....den caped the reservoir.. It's not clear whether you kept the radiator cap or reservoir cap open to let out air bubbles. It should be the RADIATOR CAP, bro, not the reservoir cap!Last edited by krixna; 01-13-2016, 11:28 PM.

Re: Pulsar 200 NS Owners Review and Experiences
Bro...thanks for the inputs...the mechanic just toped up the reservoir but didn't remove the Radiator cap. So basically there wasn't any coolant added through the radiator. Lost about 800ml Motul coolant just through this...damn it! I wonder how the mechanic never thought of adding the coolant through the Radiator.Originally posted by krixna View PostAfter filling the radiator, fill the reservoir only up to HALF mark. Re: Pulsar 200 NS Owners Review and Experiences
Hope you mean a charger for your cellphone. It can be connected to the Brown wire in the ignition switch. It will get supply only when you turn ON the ignition (key).Originally posted by sayantan View PostCan anyone tell me the process of connecting a bike charger to any place other than the battery?I dont want the battery level to decrease drastically.Any ideas on how to connect it to ignition? Thanks

Re: Pulsar 200 NS Owners Review and Experiences
The ignition switch is connected through a connector, and has 2 wires (white and brown). White comes from the + of the battery. Brown wire gets connected when you turn the key to ON position. That is the + wire we need. You can take ( - ) connection from any Black or Black/Yellow wire, or from the bike's body. This way, your charger will work only when the key is in ON position.Originally posted by sayantan View PostHello Krixna.Could you please elaborate a little more?
