Bros.. do not need this 428 kit to jump the speed at all. Mine is a different reason - I wanna get rid of the lag due to transmission losses and the chain rubbing on the chain guide due to its weight. I anyway have to get my chain set replaced since there is a manufacturing defect which is not covered by warranty so thought of doing the upgrade too at the same time. Moreover, currently, I am on a bike weight reduction spree and hence looking for the same.
What manufacturing defect you have which is not covered under warranty ?

Transmission losses can't be nullified. These aren't 'ideal' conditions. Even if the drive chain is mounted directly to the crank, you can't get all the power down!
A properly cleaned, lubed and tightened chain works wonders.

If you decide to switch to 428 and find it too, here's something to think of. The front sprocket should be the same diameter (or a bit bigger) than the present one. Or you will end up with the chain rubbing on the swingarm again. Now, for the same dia of the original 14T 520 sprocket, you will get 16T in the 428, due to smaller pitch. For a slightly bigger dia, you get 17T. To maintain some sane final drive ratio, you will have to find a rear sprocket with 43T or so.

Last week when I took my bike for its bi weekly chain tightening, my mechanic showed me that even after adjusting the chain to its desired slackness, there are some areas in the chain which are tighter than it should be, in other words, the slack is not even all through out. He said that the chain set is defective and needs replacement. My odo stands at 12750. I can swear by the fact that I have never indulged in clutch-less gear change or even half clutching for changing the gear.

Before you ask me, I would tell you myself that my weekly running is about 300 kms so hence I do this on a bi-weekly basis.

I was told by a few folks on here that the chain set is not covered under warranty, so I guess I would be replacing it from my own pocket.

A 15T front sprocket would be very nice for a smooth relaxed cruise in Both 220 & 200NS/AS

But we are unable to find 15T sprocket for 200NS & P220 anywhere in India

IRevs charges too much money for one sprocket.

Hey, as you mentioned earlier that your chain has some manufacturing defect so do you feel any inconsistency in chain while riding? I am asking this because after the rear tyre change I am facing some problem with the chain it was as if the chain is rubbing against something after several visits to SVC the rubbing and humming is neither felt nor its audible but still I do feel the inconsistency in chain drive at speeds above 70...

Okay.didn't know it.yes better to change the chain.
So what do you basically feel when you drive.I mean on 1st gear or 2nd gear at very slow speeds of less than 15 and if you don't press clutch do you get that strange inconsistency while riding(I mean jerk kind of thing )

If i leave the bike on gear when on centre stand it gives jerks as if the rear sprocket is being pulled in instalments, the pull is not consistent. Be it first or second gear. Never tried riding below 15 kph.. Gotta try it and then will have to update... :P but on a serious note... Yes it does give jerks to the point that its pissing off....

Yes bhai there is a jerking reaction felt at low speeds to the likes of about 10-15 kph, however that evens out as the speed progresses. Im doubtful if a tyre change can lead to chain issues unless, hypothetically, the tyre profile was changed and the chain slackness not redone up.

The rubbing of the chain with the chain guide, if that is what you were referring to, is something I guess we will need to live with due to the weight of the 520 chain. As mentioned in earlier posts, to avoid the chain rubbing the guide you would need to get larger sprockets which i am guessing woud alter gear ratios.

No I got the tyre of exactly same specification as the stock tyre and I think my problem is at the front sprocket because that inconsistency is felt near the left foot rest especially when the bike is running in 6th gear at around 4.9k rpm and if I make throttle input the engine resists to rev and there are hiccups.

Guys.. Having weird problem with my NS front brake. When I push brake suddenly, pressure is ON and brake is working but when I press brake progressively(slowly), No pressure in brake hose and brake is not working. What would be the problem? Done bubbles bleeding, changed new pads. What to do?

My view is worn out master cylinder. When the pressure is built up the time for fluid to relieve the pressure through worn sides is less. While you slowly apply the fluid can ooze past the piston. This is my view though. You could confirm this by temporarily swapping the master cylinder from other working bike to confirm.

Will do that and see the result. Thank you so much.
