Re: Pulsar 200 NS Owners Review and Experiences
Guys need some help,
Suddenly my ns has lost power in mid range and high range .
Not able to go past 3rd gear or 70kmph.
However hard I try.
Checked chain - seems fine
Afr - tuned again
Clutch - seems fine.
Accelerate cable - a little bit more play has come than before.
Its like I m dragging my bike .
However one thing, I had cold start from issue from day 1, that has suddenly vanished.
Engine oil was replaced some 800 km back.
Don't know what went wrong all of a sudden.
Tight schedule as qe going on, can't visit SVC.
Any suggestions ?

Could be due to a stuck/worn out carburetor diaphragm, not allowing free movement of the needle.Originally posted by nikzcool View PostGuys need some help,

Guys,
@any1991, @GauravD and @vvk1999 @krixna @sharadh @vivek7593 @powerShift @NitSpeed200 @Itzli @deep007 @Durvesh
thanks much for replying. I can't notice it sway towards left. But that ASC guy just seeded the intuition of the bike not being 100% perfect. only thing I am worried is the uneven tyre wear if there is the real bend in t stem.
Also I drove some 1000 kms in last two days but now I feel that above 6k in 6the gear is not smooth. Kind of inconsistency in fuel burn I feel so like that.
FYI, the bike has new engine oil come 500 kms back, chain lube is good, still starts without choke in single click, and returns FE of 38 in mixed mode below 70 and 32 in 250km triple digit non stop cruising.
What would be wrong. I did noticed a slightest drop of oil below the engine where the gear ratchet protrudes out, yesterday

Also would tyre dealers swap my 6k odo tyres for some MRF or Michelin? It makes me sense to swap and get good grip.
Also should swapping both is recommended or the rear alone would suffice?Last edited by Sherl; 03-31-2016, 10:45 AM.Mustard Yellow 2013 200NS - Suave Bloke in the town

Thats oil dripping from engine oil drain bolt after draining oil it's residue thats left.. Or excess lube on chain coming out from front sprocket..Originally posted by jhbalaji View PostGuys,

Regarding the chain noise, what kind of noise are you facing ? If its due to slippage you could be having a worn out sprocket however that seems unlikely as its only about 4300k old unless there is a manufacturing defect. Also, it could be due to incorrect slack or a misaligned chain guide.
The ASC guys cannot refuse to try to find a solution to a problem. Either speak with the manager out there or call up Bajaj customer service and lodge a complaint. It works.
The headlight cluster is definitely a needle in the butt. I showed the noise to my local guy to find out why it makes such a lot of noise. The bolts loosen up pretty quickly leading to vibrating noises. Plus, you gotta see the amount of wires and connectors concentrated into the headlight recess to believe it. If you are the DIY kind of guy open up the headlight console and then rebuild it back using 3M double side tape and filling the recess with stuff which would not absorb water but would provide a damping effect.
About mileage I have always wondered how does one get a 40 kmpl but then my story is different. I touch 120k daily on the highway on the way to work with no traffic around. I only manage to get a combined mileage of 33-35. Also, you may wanna get your AFR settings checked, i would say get your bike CO TUNED at the ASC. The standard tuning should be at around 1.6 (default). Just to add, do not trust your fuel guage to tell you how much fuel is remaining. Its very deceptive. How do you ascertain that you are running 320 kms per tank. Do you tank up each time ? How much fuel do you put in each time ?
About changing to 7100 its recommended not to do that before you have 8k on the odo. Running Mineral leads to a better finishing of the head which synth cannot do due to higher lubrication abilities.
Regarding tyres, cannot say much since I am still running Eurogrips. Seem pretty fine to me, never faced a problem with those in terms of control or handling or grip. Plus, have never ended up skidding my rear tyre or fishtailing. Plus, not even a single flat with 15k on the odo.
I have read about zappers and Michelin sport but canmot recommend either since I havent used either.
Hope this helps bro. Feel free to holler in case you need anymore help.
First of all thank you for welcoming me to this Awesome community of Fellow NS riders !!
Thank You GauravD for your detailed reply..
Today Something happened that i was dreadfully anticipating for a couple of weeks, I apply sudden brakes and d rear just tail gates and the bike goes off road I Fall with bruises all over my right side, thanfully the NS has good crash guards so not a single scratch to any part of the bike, but after picking the bike i saw that there was some liquid on road is it oil or petrol or some leakage that i should be worried about ??
Coming to the Mileage Part i fill the tank to the brim and den wait till the Fuel Indicator starts to blink dat is how i ascertained the mileage, I should check the amount of fuel left when the fuel indicator starts blinking to get a better idea of the mileage going forward.
I will check with the ASC guys about the things mentioned above by you.
Will seriously have to change tyres now, I am constantly living with the fear of skidding badly...
Also I have noticed that the rear Mono shock is tooo hard it just doesnt absorb any bumps and everything is passed onto my body leading to severe back n head ache every evening ! any work around for this ?
I feel that I in good company with so many people with great knowledge about this wonderful bike, i Just wish i get rid of this small niggles, i absolutely love the power and feel this bike has !

its totally up to you, your riding style and your pocket.Originally posted by jhbalaji View PostAlso would tyre dealers swap my 6k odo tyres for some MRF or Michelin? It makes me sense to swap and get good grip.

change one, both or neither. depends on your priority.
PS: this is the first time i am coming across concept of uneven tyre wear in motorcycle.
if i were you, i would have waited till the monsoon end , by this time, i might have got fair idea of 'uneven wear' as eurogrip is hard compound so its tend to show result after good amount of time. also, in mumbai, usually more tyre cuts happens in monsoon only. this is also one of the reason why i wanted to wait till monsoon end. then i would have taken decision of working or not on T-stem. then tyre replacement (if i am not comfortable with stock tyre grip in monsoon too).
if you meant exchange by word 'swap', you need to be more lucky. we have tried this for my friend's 200NS. dealer was offering 1000 rs for pair having 50kms on odo. so we gave that pair to one of our friend for the same price.
can you please explain how alignment in adjusted in front wheel of motorcycle?Originally posted by vivek7593 View PostFor swaying i had re-aligned my front and back wheel and solved the problem of swaying

or can you link me to entire procedure?
till now i have seen misalignment only due to t stem or fork.
to confirm the liquid, you could have checked its color and smell. anyway, if there is no liquid on ground below engine after long time parking, and you dont smell petrol near bike, nothing is wrong. that might have been overflown petrol from carb.Originally posted by Mohammed Nadeem View PostFirst of all thank you for welcoming me to this Awesome community of Fellow NS riders !!

although i dont find stock tyres that bad, but if you are into fear, its better to change it.
btw, i have seen my friend doing knee down on his stunt prepared pulsar 220 having eurogrip tyres which he got just in 1000 for less used pair.
for rear shock, you can adjust only preload. i stand over footpegs a bit (few inches from seat) and elbow and knees works as best shock absorbers. no lower back or neck pain.Last edited by powerShift; 03-31-2016, 04:19 PM.

Re: Pulsar 200 NS Owners Review and Experiences
I have added extra foam on my rider seat, set suspension to the softest and added over grips on handlebar and maintain tyre pressure at 28. Still I feel so some.Originally posted by Mohammed Nadeem View PostFirst of all thank you for welcoming me to this Awesome community of Fellow NS riders !! Thank You GauravD for your detailed reply.. .
To check for alignment issue..
For me i justed my handlebar as it was slightly tilted to left and hence swaying and also the markers on chain adjuster cant be same for me
I keep adjuster on left side one less than that of right this results in no swaying and prefect chain slackness..

Nothing needs to be done to the existing wiring or flasher. This works parallel to the stock flasher, without interfering with it.Originally posted by vivek7593 View PostInstallation guide? Or simply replace the existing flasher?

Re: Pulsar 200 NS Owners Review and Experiences
I would rather install a parallel wiring to support this flasher coupled with an adequately rated fuse, a switch and a set of separate hazard lights. Would look kinda really cool.Originally posted by vivek7593 View PostInstallation guide? Or simply replace the existing flasher?

IMO the bullet round indicators would look really cool if they can be got hold of in LED to save on some wattage which otherwise would impact load by 12W if all burn at the same time.
