Buying metz means selling my soul to the deamons get a Pirelli or Michelin (michelin will last a weee bit longer 4 to 5k kms compared to the same conditions. Ceat dhoom 3. Michelin 130 radials are excellent in wet weather but I have no experience with a Pirelli on a wet road.

As far as online reviews are cncerned, both are good but michelins might last longer than pirelli's.Also in small to medium size cities (like the one I am staying in) there are good chances of finding a michellin dealer.

Do it when your bike clocks 500 kms

Yeah your right michelin is readily available but only problem is tyre exchanges. Only a handful of tyre shops do that in whole colombo!! So must find the perfect shop and it should be in a fair rate for the exchange.

Guys , I was supposed to take my bike for 2nd free service last week, will there be any issues if I'm 10-15 days late, will it still be a free service?

Ya some SVC object and don't give free service , you just go there casually and don't mention anything about being late . And 2nd service isn't time based so you can get it within 8 months . It's kms based so they wont say anything .

As per my experience with the Pirelli Sport Demon on my previous bike and the Michelin Pilot Street on my current bike, the Michelin might have a wee bit more dry weather grip and about par for wet weather.

The superior grip of the Pirelli was demonstrated on a climb up to Ooty with a friend behind me on a CBR250. He had a hard time keeping up with me on his stock ContiGos. We're about the skill level but he is more reckless than than me generally.

Again, this isn't an apples to apples comparison, because the tyres were shod on different bikes. But the Pirellis handled anything my P220 could throw at it, and certainly the bike's chassis gave up before the tyres would buckle if you took a fast sweeping corner at rapid speeds. Never had cause for concern with those tyres come rain or shine. But it did expose the limitations of my bike's handling capabilities though, and in my opinion, was more tyre than the bike could handle. That's not the case with the NS's chassis though.

If you plan to take your bike off the tarmac onto unsurfaced roads, the PSD handles those conditions better. The Pilot Street doesn't do well with loose surfaces compared to the Pirelli.

Can't comment on the durrability of both the tyres. My Pirellis got stolen along with my bike, and the Michelins I have now are hardly a few months old.

It should be fine as long as the two tyres are of similar performance qualities, i.e., you shouldn't put a low quality tyre at the front and high performance one at the rear. It's usually sound advice to out tyres of the same brand on both wheels.

But if for any reason you end up buying only one tyre, it's recommended to buy a better quality tyre at the front than the rear. The reason being that you have a much better chance of recovering from a rear end skidding/slipping, but you are almost guaranteed to fall if your front tyre decides to let go.

For choices regarding the different tyres that you would want to put on your ride, I highly suggest you go the top of the page and use the "search thread" option there. Of course you can't from your mobile, but when you do get your hands on a desktop/laptop. There has been a lot of discussion about this on the previous pages. You just have to keep some time aside and sift your way through them.
