  • Re: Pulsar 200 NS Owners Review and Experiences

    Finally got mine this morning.
Turkish version doesn't have a fuel tap. Is it because of fuel injection?
Also it lacks a center stand, unfortunately.

I tried to do some "fast break in". What I found strange was the feel from the shifter:
No clunks when I tried to shift up or down. Not even a click that my foot senses.
I felt as if I was stomping on and squashing a tomato...
Nope, a mouse. Because it had some spring to it heheh
In other words, it's smoother than I would like it to be. I need some clunk

There's also a hefty thingie over the battery. I plan to take some photos and post here.

I tried to lower the shifter according to what the dealer man described:
took out the thingie in the red circle below and reinstalled in a different angle.
But come evening, I had a look at the Duke 200 manual and thought that I probably did it wrong.

Can you have a look at the Duke 200 instructions below and tell me if the procedure is the same
    for Pulsar too?

    Kus kanatin, er atin.

The superior grip of the Pirelli was demonstrated on a climb up to Ooty with a friend behind me on a CBR250. He had a hard time keeping up with me on his stock ContiGos. We're about the skill level but he is more reckless than than me generally.

Again, this isn't an apples to apples comparison, because the tyres were shod on different bikes. But the Pirellis handled anything my P220 could throw at it, and certainly the bike's chassis gave up before the tyres would buckle if you took a fast sweeping corner at rapid speeds. Never had cause for concern with those tyres come rain or shine. But it did expose the limitations of my bike's handling capabilities though, and in my opinion, was more tyre than the bike could handle. That's not the case with the NS's chassis though.

If you plan to take your bike off the tarmac onto unsurfaced roads, the PSD handles those conditions better. The Pilot Street doesn't do well with loose surfaces compared to the Pirelli.

Can't comment on the durrability of both the tyres. My Pirellis got stolen along with my bike, and the Michelins I have now are hardly a few months old.
How much does the pirelli sport demon costs?

Ha ha, the bike was stolen more than two years ago. But for your info, the Pirelli Sport Demons cost me 6500 rupees for both front and rear tyres back then, a 100/80 17 front and a 130/80 17 rear.

Have had a CBR250 with ContiGo tyres in the interim before I got my current 200NS. Really scary tyres in the wet, those ContiGos.

I rode on the Eurogrips for exactly 17kms, the distance from the Bajaj showroom to my house to the tyre showroom. Been riding on Pilot Streets ever since.

Anyway, ride carefully now that the monsoons are here.

Also, make sure to maintain the tyre pressure, a lower than recommended pressure is detrimental to wet grip.

Yes on wet surface eurogrips dont grip at all.. on hot tarmac it does grip a little.
I have experienced eurogrips to be better than contigos on my friends cbr250

Yes that is right.Lately,I was so pissed off by eurogrips, that I was actually afraid to take the bike out, whenever it rained. My mind kept reminding of there performance(read wheel locks) in normal conditions, forget about the wet roads.

3000 rupees, almost all the tyre showrooms I inquired with offered the same amount.

It's just got two holes at opposite sides of the sprocket axis, just like our stock sprocket.
Stay away from this sprocket. Lots of disadvantages.

Remove the plug boot, loosen the spark plug with a spark plug wrench and then unscrew it by hand. You certainly need to stay away from DIY if you don't even know how to remove the spark plug. You are trying to see oil deposit or electrode color of the spark plugs, I gather.

Yes bro and also in need to change it. Have clocked 23,000 in ODO and looking @ DIY bcoz cant find reliable mechanics and service centre is 50km far. Can I just pull the cable right away inorder to remove the plug boot?

Just pull the plug boot, the cable will come off with it. Don't pull the cable directly. I would love to make a DIY tutorial detailing the steps required to replace spark plugs but I don't have a 200NS.

Guy's is it necessary to apply a coat of anti-rust ?
I have never seen a 200ns with anti-rust applied to it unlike Bullet and other such bikes .
It's started to rain in Mumbai now so was just curious weather we need to apply anti-rust or not ? Because i will be riding my bike in rains .
