Installed short clutch lever and short brake lever...costed 1700 and 50 rs Labour charge for fitting...I feel more comfortable now and less effort to use...feels little more efficient than the stock ones...

Finally finally getting my pulsar 200ns on coming 20th!!!
Test rode it again ;-) a couple days back, but this time it was different, i personally wanted to check the famed euroslips myself.....
No matter how hard i braked, tyres showed no signs of any loss of grip, coudnt find any wet patch on the td so cant talk about wet grip.
Also like to mention that i took this td in the scorching delhi afternoon so it can be said that the tyres had sufficiently heated up.

Earliar i was thoroughly convinced that the eurogrips are going to be replaced by the michelin pilot street front nd back, but after my last td i dunno what to do.

Plz can anybody using michelins share his experience??

I intend to use one. Actually, I've already used my dial type torque-wrench on the oil filter cover bolts.
I had looked up the Duke 200 manual for the torque values: "8 Nm. Okay 8 it is."
The result was quite annoying, though: one of the bolts snapped off just two milimeters beneath the bolt head.
The dial was showing 6-7 Nm. I don't know what happened. It is actually a high-quality dial type torque wrench.

Then I bought similar M5X16mm bolts from a bolt store, but I didn't use the torque wrench this time, tightening them down

By the way, the filter cover leaks some oil now. What's the solution? A new o-ring?

Is this normal if i don't turn the fuel know to 'OFF'. A friend of mine also took a pulsar on the next day,Dual tone blue black. He rode my bike and said that the gears are tight ( gear shifting problem) also his engine had different sound, like a more refined engine.
I'm new to biking,so this might all be just in my head. Please help me put my mind at ease.
I wonder if you still need help with this. Anyways, I feel it is due to a loose screw which drains out the oil from carburetor. Its on the right hand side.

@ others - My problem. Whenever I wash my bike, water enters the carburetor and so I have to loosen this screw and drain out the oil in carburetor after every wash. I took it to a mechanic but he was unable to find any leakage. Anyone any idea?

Looks nice, where'd you get them at this price? Please share your source.

Lol, sad to hear that. So it is better off with the normal wrench right?? I guess it would snapped of due to the vibration and over tightness, Not sure though!

Sorry bro, No idea about the solution.

I got my beast the Pulsar 200NS just 15 days back.I have clocked 350 km on the odometer as of now.there are a few things i wanted to clarify.
(1) How important is the "break in" period?
(2)The front brake makes a sound when applied. It sounds like the wheel is going free but the brakes are working. What could be the reason behind that sound?
(3)Is there anyway to adjust the back monoshock suspension?
(4)When the bikes handle bar is facing the left hand side and the bike is moved theres a squeaky noise that comes from the front end. What does this imply?

I will be grateful to anyone who can shed some light on my problems and help me out.

P.S. on the second day of owning the bike i noticed a oil leak,i took it to the SVC and they told me the gasket cover was leaking.Fortunately they fixed it and i have had no problems of any sort in that front. But i didn't expect so many problems from such a premium bike like the 200NS

(1) How important is the "break in" period?

engine break in period is very very important i tell you my bike i got it in may this year when i got and i run the bike on road i feel engine vibration at 3500 rpm to 6000 rpm only once reached 6000 rpm but now because i am following the break in the vibrations are gone and engine is becoming more and more refined and now
i feel engine vibrations only at 4500 rpm to 5000 rpm and that to nearly negligible and my bike has just clocked 750 km

this happens because the piston rings and piston bore are new and there edges are rough then if we accelerate hard then the rough edge would damage engine
though this damage is very little but in the long run the engine will lose its compression and the engine will not last and not only long run is the problem a proper break in engine will accelerate faster and a proper break in engine has less vibrations

i know it is very difficult to stop yourself from accelerating such an amazing machine but i feel the refined and a without break in engine
and this is the reason why some ns can reach 0 - 100 in just 8.78 s and some ns can reach 0-100 in 11.58s
and this also effects the top speed of bike
so if you want that you can win every race and you machine never have problems then do follow break in
and always remain below 5000 rpm till 2000 km little bust can be given, accelerate slowly , before riding make the engine idle for about 1 to 2 min so that engine warm ups use every gear and do not accelerate rpm above 5000 even if you are not in gear just standing.
read the manual before using the vehicle

(2)The front brake makes a sound when applied. It sounds like the wheel is going free but the brakes are working. What could be the reason behind that sound?

this is natural i also listen that sound it is because when you apply the brakes the brake pad vibrates and that vibration goes to tha hydrolic fluid and from their to fluid reservoir on handle of bike though you cant feel that vibration but you can listen it

(3)Is there anyway to adjust the back monoshock suspension?

yes go to svc tell them they will do that

(4)When the bikes handle bar is facing the left hand side and the bike is moved theres a squeaky noise that comes from the front end. What does this imply?

may be it is just the little bit slipping of tyre

First of all congrats for the new beast buddy,
Break in is very very important for a new vehicle. The first 2000Kms of the bike determine the mileage, the power delivery and the smoothness of the engine. When the engine is brand new it has microscopic imperfections. so for the first 1000Kms the Pistons, the cylinders gears and all the important parts polish themselves to perfect smoothness. Its like polishing a diamond. If you go rough and rev your beast like crazy, the engine parts will get rough and the mileage as well as the smoothness of the engine will be spoiled forever. do not cross 50 - 55 Kmph for first 500 kms. then increase the Rpm and speed every 200 Kms (for example- 4k rpm and 55kmph for 500kms, 5-6k rpm 65kmph from 500 - 700 kms an so on). Do this for 2000 Kms and enjoy the smooth engine for the rest of the life.

Also as the engine polishes itself, get your engine oil and oil filter changed at every free service because the fine metal particles settle in the oil filter and if oil filter is not changed along with the oil, it is of no use. Follow this method and your beast will remain vibration free and will give really good mileage. (I own a 3 month old R15 and followed the above procedure, and my bike gives 40+ mileage at all times. be it in the crowded city(40-42) or open highway(45-50)).
I would like to thank my legs for supporting me, my arms for being always by my side and my fingers; I could always count on them.

nupulsar, thanks a lot for letting me know how important the break in period is.It is mighty tough to keep myself from achieving escape velocity on the bike! :P
I shall strictly follow the 2000 km break in period.

about the handle bar sound....i dont think its the tyre because theres a metallic squeaky sound.

Thanks for your input anyway!

This is my first post to xbhp.
Actually I had an issue with my pulsar 200 ns (2 week old).
Current odo=610 kms. First service done.
I gave my bike to service center in Nerul, Navi Mumbai.
I had a problem with rear mono shock ( some squeaky noise is coming ), and i told about this issue to the SVC guy.
He removed the swing arm bush and lubricated it.
Delivered the bike after service. But after coming home i realised the noise is still there, so i went back to svc again on the same day.
He then removed the the nail holding the swing arm, lubricated it and placed it back. he vigorously pushed the bike from top to rectify the mono shock problem but he was unable to resolve it.
So in the whole and sole process, i found that the height of my bike has tremendously got down than earlier.
The height actually got lowered down and i can feel it while riding.
I am very confused and tensed and dont know what to do.
Is this a problem due to faulty mono shock? Will the height get restored back to earlier after replacing the mono shock assembly?? or is there any other way to increase the height...i think it happend because the mechanic pushed the bike vigorously from back... dont know!!
Plz reply..
Approved and merged!
