The new 200 ns uses new cdi with 5 maps for the spark plug and because of this it has some refinement.
Older ns's cdi has only 2 maps: one for top end and one for cruising.
Can we use this new cdi in our old ns for better fuel efficiency and refinement ????

I enquired about it at the service centre and they told me that we can't use new cdi in old bikes

I think it should work because everything is same in old and new ns except this cdi and new exhaust to fulfill the emission norms and it only controls the spark timing so if new cdi slot is same as old one then we are good to go.
        Only thing is its availability.
May be after one or two months it will be available at spare stores.
Or if someone has new ns then we can check this by putting its cdi in old ns.

Have you set the idling speed at cold or at warm?. When you do at cold, you can see this inconsistent behavior. Warm up your engine for 5-10 min and then adjust the RPM to 1300-1500. Next time at cold, if you struggle to bring up, try with choke. If this doesn't help try for AFR. Don't rush to AFR adjustment. It is a headache

You take a decently well-maintained bike, leave the engine alone and replace ALL (or perhaps even just some) of the items mentioned above, and I can guarantee you that you'll immediately experience increased "refinement"!

On a side note, I replaced the chain on my 200NS just 2 days / 20km ago, and my bum sensor immediately registered discernible increased refinement. In fact, the "improved refinement" was more than that of a fresh oil change!

              Hey,

Can you tell us your review of the new chain you installed and any differences it makes to the bike? I am looking to upgrade my stock chain and your input on these chains would be helpful.

I'm hesitant to offer a review at this point as it's only been some 500km since replacement. As with any new chain, it's definitely a lot quieter and smoother than the older one - which was approaching its end of life. I'm hoping DID lives up to its longevity reputation and last longer than my previous chain. But only time can tell.

                  Quick update:
I had to replace the rear left indicator of Pulsar 200ns after it was broken. The front right works same for rear left and front left for rear right. Costs around Rs 160+ labour charges. Might help somebody who has broken indicator.

My front tyres were gone. No matter how many times I got the tyre checked, it kept leaking air slowly. The grip had also gone. I crashed twice in the last 6 months and I am sure the Euroslip tyres had a part to play. It got to the point that I was anxious at every corner. I wanted to upgrade to better tyres and I thought I would try something really good. Pirelli Diablo Rosso 2 really caught my eye. I bought them and recently fitted them to my bike.

I do not know if tyres make a difference in torque, but i feel a better pull. I feel more smoothness. I feel a better performance from the bike.

There is a an initial difference because of the change in tyre size. The turning radius at corners has become shorter compared to the earlier tyres on the same corner at the same speed. This also means I can take the corner faster, but I am not doing that in the city.

The grip is amazing. The middle 60% of the tyre has medium compound. The 20% on each side has soft compound. I am generally using about 75% of the tyre profile. There is a turning in our street full of construction sand and gravel on the road. People going really slow on unicorns have fallen. I tested the corner by applying brakes mid turn. There was a little slip, but the tyres gripped again.

The tyres have definitely increased my safety feeling on the bike.

Is that grey marks, of rim paint going fade? If so, recently I was answered that the paint fading from the rim causes air leak from the rim side. Had you got your old tyre checked before? About from where the leak was occuring?

Also, my front is having the saming problem. It is leaking air from the rim side.

I had the same issue with mine almost a year back. Air was leaking from the rim itself. Got the rim replaced and all was good till now. Yesterday i took out my bike after a gap of a week or two and the air was down to 13psi. Would applying a sealent where the tyre and rim meet be of any use in this situation?

                          • Acceleration lag in pulsar 200 ns

                            Hi all
                            I got a new pulsar 200 ns 2017 edition
                            It's an awesome bike
For doing my running in out of city I took her for a short spin onto Kanakapura road a bit curvy but not high traffic
While riding her at 4.5-5.5k rpm tr was a bit acceleration lag, then after hitting reserve after 40kms all of a sudden bike stopped as trs no petrol, but tr was petrol
When I took it to Bajaj asc Madiwala service engineer Vishal told that it's due to fuel clogging or some dust and fuel line and carb need to be cleaned, brothers do let me know is it good to do so,I hope no makar problem right

No sealant is not required. On the web, the solution is shown to remove the tyre and clean the edge of the rim from the inside near the places where is leak observed, and then to refit, inflate and check whether is not is still there or not. It is mentioned that it may occur due to corrosion on the inside of the rim or due to sand/gravel similar stuff getting stuck between the rim and the tyre. I havn't got mine done yet, will update you as and when I get it done.
