So does that mean the older 200ns has reliability and rattling issues ?

      No it doesn't.....

If you test a well-used 2013 Ducati and compare it with a brand new 2017 Ducati out of the showroom, you will also notice that the new machine has better refinement. So, going with your logic, "does that mean the older Ducati has reliability and rattling issues" too?

Guys I'm facing this issue with my bike. We have come to ratnagiri from pune and the bike was performing very well. Later on after say 270 kms the bike started to cough just like when you feel the fuel is getting over. It happens when I'm riding at a constant speed above 5k rpm. What could be the problem. I will be returning back to pune tomorrow but I want to know what's the problem. If nothing major I can ride with a peaceful mind or else it will keep bothering me. Please can anyone advice?

I would not say that since there was a difference between NS 200 and AS 200. We can surely hope the New one to be refined as AS200 if not better

The majority of "refinement" is measured by the "bum sensor" - hardly objective at all. When seeking refinement, a large number of people fail to note the other contributing factors such as new tires, new chain, new sprockets, new shocks, new wheel bearings, new oil, etc.

You take a decently well-maintained bike, leave the engine alone and replace ALL (or perhaps even just some) of the items mentioned above, and I can guarantee you that you'll immediately experience increased "refinement"!

On a side note, I replaced the chain on my 200NS just 2 days / 20km ago, and my bum sensor immediately registered discernible increased refinement. In fact, the "improved refinement" was more than that of a fresh oil change!

At 12,000km, the chain on my Pulsar 200NS had developed an uneven wear across the length of the chain. This set of original Bajaj sprocket and chain was replaced for US$45 in Phnom Penh’s Baj…

Sometimes it could just be bad fuel, try filling up from a different bunk at ratnagiri.
Next Open the fuel tank, then start the bike and let it idle for a few seconds. Close it and ride to see if the issue persists.
Then check your air filter, take it out and clean it by tapping it on the floor to dislodge dust. Even better if you could hit it with a bit of compressed air at a local mechanic.
If these do not fix your issue, the culprit could most likely be the carburettor (partially blocked jet or a sticky slide).

I had faced such issue once, and it was due to bad fuel quality or leakage of few water droplets into fuel tank.

Hey fellow riders. Have been facing this issue for the past couple of weeks. My idle rpm is 1.5k when i start the engine and it used to stay at that even after the engine was warmed up. But now, the idle rpm jumps to 2.5k after i have ridden a few kms. What can be the issue here? Thanks in advance
                    Ride safe!

Did you serviced recently ?? A change in AFR setting may be the cause.

I got it serviced 3 months back. But i had some issues with the clutch lever and got it changed. The mechanic had some issues at the engine end( i dont know the technical term) of the clutch cable and was hopelessly pocking around with a screw driver in that area and it's where the afr is located. Could he have changed the setting accidentally, as i have been facing this issue since then. Could the lever change be an issue? Thanks in advance

Hello Everyone! Im Mydin, my current bike is a Pulsar 200ns. It was first sight love till now.
Sadly, im a Malaysian so I only could ride my bike whenever Im on vacation at my native which is in Tamilnadu.
Im planning to stay for 2 month at my native coming July. So, Im doing no limit shopping for my girl. The things I bought so far are customized engine cover, k&n replacement air filter, Maintenance free battery with led status bar, Motul 7100,iridium plugs for master and the slaves, handlebar end gold side mirror, shark helmet, customised gold turbular slider ( Ducati Street Fighter inspired ), saddle bags, and RK racing chain 428. Moreover I have ordered custom Ducati Monster 795 headlamp, Rust Oleum High Heat Resistance Spray (2000F), radiator cover, adjustable rear number plate and still considering customized Kawasaki Z250 rear body(need opinions). Last but not least I will buy KTM Duke 200 usd fork and will custom paint it in gold or will gold heated.
The only thing im stuck now is the sprocket. Im planning to 16/45 428. centre hole diameter and the 6 holes diameter and the space between one hole to another. Will be most grateful if any of the members will help me out by posting pictures of P200NS stock sprocket set with detailed diameters..

                          Thank you everyone.

Yes it might be. Get to the service centre and ask them to set CO. Or you can do it yourself. Turn the AFR to the leanest (clockwise rotation) until you can no longer turn. Then open slowly and notice the Engine sound. Around 2 to 3 turns anti Clockwise is the correct setting. Refer some YouTube videos in case you have doubt bro.

I will try and do it myself. Thanks a lot for the guidance. Appreciate it
